I’ve eaten here a number of times, but this time was very surprising. My salad was inundated with onions, the nachos were dry and lifeless and my cocktail was watered down. I hope this was just a one time occurrence. Usually very good but not this time.
Came at night and wanted to have a few drinks with dinner at the bar. Bar tenders asked me once once for drinks but never asked again haha. They serviced the regulars that were at the bar though. It wasn’t a busy night and had a lot of staff it seemed so not sure why attentiveness was lacking.
What ruined the ambiance was that the hostess was cleaning in an around the tables that were around us with this vacuum cleaner. I even asked if they were closing early that night which would have made sense but it was only 9pm.
Food was great!
Very good food. We got the empanada appetizer which was excellent. The kale and Brussels sprouts with tuna was also very good although the tuna unfortunately came after the salad did. The scallops and risotto dish was also good but since they were out of scallops we had to get shrimp instead. It was good but would’ve been better if they had the scallops. The main issue for me was that our server was our best friend during the meal and through the check and her tip, but when we got up to leave but it was a deluge outside I was looking for an umbrella to borrow just to get me to my car and then I would return it. I walked past her looking for assistance three times and she didn’t look at or speak to me once after she had been tipped. I won’t be back.
Good brunch, somewhat slow service. We didn’t mind terribly because we weren’t in a rush, but it took way to long to close out the check. Would definitely give them another try though.
Girls night out for dinner. Enjoyed drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. Watermelon caprese salad was deliciously different. Deviled eggs with bacon were tasty. Steak frites and kale salad with steak were delicious — steak was a bit on the less done side of medium well. Jambalaya was definitely spicy. Apple tart with ice cream for dessert. Great service, friendly and casual. Let us take our time and enjoy. Only down side is it’s a bit hard to hear. Highly recommended.
Casual, modern vibes and delicious food with friendly service.
Girls weekend! Great food and drinks. James was awesome! I will be back.
Very good good, but a bar type setting. Not much ambiance.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I was so excited to go, but the food was bland, the service, at least our server was slow and couldn't have cared less that we there. Likely won't be giving them another chance.
Mason Social was a great choice for a group of work friends who haven’t seen each other in long time. The drinks and food were great. The only issue was that the service at the beginning of our dinner was a bit slow but eventually the staff stepped it up.
On a Wednesday night three of us hit a total unknown, we left fans. The drinks, in particular the Mason Lemonade were perfectly balanced and went down wonderfully. The appetizer list was so appealing that the choice to go with fried calamari seemed like a trap, it wasn’t. The level of crunch and taste was perfect…our one knock would be the dipping sauces, they were good but not great. On the plus side there were two sauces which was nice and unexpected. The jambalaya pasta that two of us had was delicious with a perfect amount of heat to leave your mouth warm but not blown out. The fried chicken was also wonderful and different, with a large single piece that had great fried skin and astoundingly moist meat served with enough sides (Mac and cheese, fried Brussels) to be their own meal. Add in a half price bottle of wine on Wednesday and the company of an old friend and it was a perfect night.
Great menu! Can’t wait to go again!
A tasty cocktail followed by delicious crab dip appetizer and very fresh salad with grilled shrimp. Sooo good!!
Nice place to relax with family or friends. Separate dining area from bar.
Everything was great - appetizers, food, drinks and especially our server Brianne. She was so friendly, attentive and professional. I love this place
Was loud inside but outside was much better for a conversation. Drinks were good and the food came timely. Enjoyed the food.
Went for a late lunch - social hour reunion with some friends from college. The social hour deals we're great, food was excellent, service was great and the drinks were pretty good. It is a loud place due to the set up of the rooms, but definitely a fun place. Will definitely recommend
Went there for a quick lunch. We decided to eat outside which is next to a heavily trafficked street but our salads were fresh, not wilted.
Saturday brunch was great, but if you're looking for a quiet spot, this maybe isn't it.
Great food! Great service! We’ll definitely be back!
Nice spot for lunch in the neighborhood. Good salads too
Great neighborhood place. Quality ingredients equals quality food. Pay them a visit. You won’t regret it.
Food was awesome but really loud inside.
Two adults, three little ones, great food and service made for a GREAT experience.
The hummus plate was very good. It’s worth the wait for an outdoor table! Very pet friendly!
Went for a Sunday brunch, and the service was not stellar. I do think maybe the servers were understaff. Food was mediocre.
This is a cute little spot.
We had a funny experience - absolutely everything was spicy! From the drinks to the starters to the mains. This worked for me and was a feature of the meal, but caught my dining companions off guard.
We had fun imagining the cooks saying to themselves “this is great but it’s missing just one thing……JALAPEÑO” to every dish.
In late May, the entire staff was masked (yay) except our waiter. He didn’t seem like an indignant sort of dude so I put myself at ease thinking he must be vaccinated. I think we’ll all be doing this kind of self soothing for a while.
Nice place to meet friends & family for brunch. When we are in the area again - this will be a good option again. Thanks
Tuesday taco deal was good food and reasonably priced. Very nice outside dining except for noise and exhaust smells. Waitstaff was personable and helpful.
Appetizers were good but the entrees not great. Fish was very dry. No baby changing table in men or women’s restrooms. Staff were very friendly and the best part.
The restaurant has time restricted menus, so make sure you pay attention to the time limits.
It’s not OldTown Alexandria, but the food was great and they have managed to put plenty of tables outside.
I have been here before and the service was very good even though it was busy and food was good. This time however even though it wasn’t crowded the service was very slow and we didn’t get checked on. Then the orders were wrong and there was no apology or much acknowledgment other than a dropping of a plate with the right order. The food was tasty it just wasn’t a great experience to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Delicious food and great atmosphere!
Fantastic brunch! Food was so good and the service was fantastic. Will definitely visit again.
Took my friend here for a single moms Mother’s Day and she loves it!
The food was horrible, especially the crab artichoke dip. it was full of onions and no crab meat. They also don’t have a lot of options. First time for everything I guess.
great food, friendly services, reasonable prices, easy parking. This place has it all.
No complaints about the food. The patio -- obviously a critical place in May during a still-continuing pandemic -- could stand to be cleaner, though. I saw a few straw wrappers and crumpled receipts on the ground and under the shrubs. More critically, the patio needs a lot more shade at brunch time. I'm loath to expect restaurants to invest into their facilities after they've been stretched so thin by the pandemic, but one of those canopies over the entire patio, instead of a smattering of umbrellas, would go a long way towards making it a more pleasant place.
