Opened in 2010, Mason Jar NYC has always been about experiencing world-class BBQ, a plethora of craft and imported beers, and the finest bourbons available, all in the heart of New York City.

But most importantly, we believe that Mason Jar is a place to relax and feel at home, even in the middle of the busiest city in the world. As our offerings have expanded, we still keep one simple promise at the heart of our business:

"We treat every dish as a home-cooked meal, and treat every customer like a guest in our own home.".

We placed a reservation which was confirmed twice by email. When we showed up, on time and on the correct date, the restaurant was closed. There was no notice of the closure provided to us by the restaurant or by opentable. There was no follow-up message from either opentable or the restaurant regarding the closure. A very disappointing experience. Opentable requires me to rate things like food and atmosphere in order to post this. Since we have no idea what the food and atmosphere were like we've rated them neutrally.

Great for watch parties! They definitely tailor to the March Madness crowd.

Went there for Sunday brunch. The service was ultra-friendly and the food very tasty. Excellent selection of beers. Brunch menu a bit limited, though.

We stumbled across the Bkln location (didn't eat there) but decided to give the Manhattan version a try. it wasn't horrible, it just wasn't special. First off, it was loud. Second the atmosphere was a little hmmm -- how to describe -- a bit like a college campus hangout -- wooden tables in booths, large flat-screen TVs and, did I say loud? as for the food, we ordered deviled eggs and fried pickles as starters. the deviled eggs were pretty good. the fried pickles -- not so much. they were chips not spears and very (too) salty. As for entrees, I had the ribs -- good, not great. one friend had the brisket -- a bit fatty, but good flavor. another had the chicken and waffles -- I didn't try, but it didn't look particularly appetizing. Our server was great -- attentive without being fawning. All in all -- I wouldn't go back. there are too many good restaurants in ny to go back to one that's 'meh'. but, again, it wasn't horrible.

The lemonade was amazing and so was the mac and cheese. I'll definitely be back.

Terrible service. Waitress didn't bring our drinks for 25 mins. After my boyfriend went to the kitchen to inform them. Loud, no silver wear on the table or sauce (we grabbed our own from another table). Almost walked out

Very gracious and accommodating. Good food to eat in and we took some home for others. All good reviews by folks from the south and from Kansas City - so a lovely time and good food for all! Will surely go again!

The ran out of ribs and brisket at 8 pm on a Saturday night. They seemed short staffed. The waiter disappeared for a long time after we asked for things like utensils.

I made reservations 5 days in advance but when we arrived we were only offered a little table with 2 stools right in front of the bar with a patron sitting next to us that seemed intoxicated and had his foot on one of our "chairs". We asked about all the empty tables and were told they were all ready reserved, well so was ours. We declined and decided not to stay. The hostess made a mild effort to keep us and offered us tall table near the bar which was certainly not any better. We honestly didn't feel welcomed at all.

Went to mason jar for Gamecock game as we do every November. Arrived early knowing how busy but also booked through open table. Were told that since we booked with open table we were placed upstairs at worst table. No Gamecock fans! My husband could hardly make it up the steps due to knee problem. Asked to be able to go down stairs but were told that we couldn't move until after halftime even there were open tables. Said they were reserved even when they staid open the entire time. Will this happen every time we use open table?
