Food was good except the coconut shrimp sushi didn’t appear to have any coconut and very little pineapple as advertised. Waiter was a bit of a space cadet.
Food and drinks were fantastic, as usual. My only negative-ish comment is regarding the manager or hostess, who came by our table, asked how our meal was (to which we replied “wonderful”), and then felt compelled to tell us that customers were complaining about that very same dish earlier in the night. She walked away, and we all didn’t feel terribly confident in our raw fish after that chat...
Went for the bottomless brunch & unlimited plates. Been here before and this time did not disappoint! Food was delicious and most of all, our server was awesome. Shout out to London for taking good care of our small birthday gathering.
We went to Masa 14 for my birthday brunch and it couldn’t have been any better! We were a group of 8 and the service was impeccable. Our server Dora was the best and took awesome care of us. The selection for the all you can eat brunch was amazing and the drinks were constantly flowing. Thanks so much for a great time!
It’s unfortunate that incompetent workers can make a perfectly good experience frustrating and upsetting. We enjoyed a nice brunch (bottomless brunch was good) until the staff who delivered food from the kitchen began delivering items to the wrong tables. Twice I witnessed our desert being delivered to the table next to ours, causing surprise on the patrons at that table. We also never received 2 dishes we ordered twice, although I’m sure they were given to someone else. Finally, had to get up and involve the manager to get our desert and get out. Server was very polite and the food was excellent, but the lack of organization was horrible and the owner of this resturaunt is losing profits because of either untrained or unqualified staff. I won’t be back or offering referrals.
First time going to Mass 14. Sunday brunch with friends and family . Our server Dora was amazing ! She was super helpful and had a great attitude the entire time . Laughed and joked around with us, she fit right in. Plates were small so had us questioning if we were going to get full but we sure did. I loved the chilaquiles , yuca and carrot cake. The food came out pretty fast . We were a big party and placed multiple plates at once. Our glasses were constantly getting filled. You really get your money’s worth here! Great first time expierience I will def be back for brunch. Thanks to all at Mass 14!
Lots of food selection in the form of tapas. Would recommend their chicken satay and flatbreads. Sushi was a bit different, more like fried rice with sauce. Upstairs roof area has a cool atmosphere and this place becomes vibrant on late evenings during the weekend, with dance music and lights.
I’m upgrading my last review. I went for dinner this time and the service from start to finish was wonderful. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that the music is very loud making it difficult to have a conversation.
This was the second time I dined here and it was still good.
The atmosphere was fun, and energetic. The menu was big with a lot of options, and since it was a bottomless tapas we tried things we would never normally order, which was great! The food was fast and hot, the flavors were absolutely amazing. I love this place and I plan on coming back, a lot! Shadonna was our server and she was very knowledgeable and helpful with the food and drinks. She was attentive but not intrusive, the whole experience was fun. My husband and I had a really good time.
Wasn’t bad per se, just wasn’t great. Didn’t live up to the hype. Went for brunch and had a cup of coffee, after I finished cup had to flag someone down for refill and never got it. Asked again for coffee - boo. Some food was awesome (scrambeled egg dish, Korean fried chicken)) other was just okay (potatos/kimchi fried rice). Our waiter was super nice but also really clumsy and kind of frantic - knocking things over etc. good deal if you want to go and get drunk at brunch.
Good experience and ambiance. A little loud
Food was good but expensive and quantity was too less
Loved the roof top!
I've eaten at Masa 14 several times now, but prior to this visit it was only ever for brunch. This time around I came for DC Restaurant Week and ordered the bottomless food and drinks option. The food selection was varied and was delivered quickly, but during the first hour and a half my date and I received two drinks at most. Seeing as the bottomless drinks costed an extra $20, this was upsetting and ruined the early portion of the experience for the both of us. After complaining to the manager, we received much faster service. Typically in these instances it wouldn't be unreasonable to have something small comped by the restaurant for the inconvenience, but we received nothing. I'd still recommend coming here for the food, but be prepared for inconsistent service depending on staffing that evening.
The service was super s l o w, but the food was delicious.
The Servers were great! I love this place and will be back.
The service was very poor. Our hostess was not friendly at all and made us feel unwelcomed. Everything came pretty late and the drinks were watered down. The bloodymarry wasn't drinkable and the mimosas were warm.
Kitchen was way off this past Sunday during brunch. Had been there for New Years Day brunch and had no issues with food - but for whatever reason this past Sunday, the kitchen served us about five dishes that were ice-cold. One, sure, happens. Five? Something wasn't working that day.
The wait staff were incredibly kind, however, and the food is in of itself good. Would still recommend, but watch out if you think the kitchen may get overwhelmed.
My sister, a native to the DC area, had taken me to brunch the previous Sunday (July 27) and there seemed to be a plethora of issues between the kitchen and our server. We paid for the unlimited brunch and our food took over an hour until it reached our table. Among other issues, management did apologize and made some favorable check adjustments. My sister was quite disappointed because I had just moved down here a month ago and this is one of her favorite spots. Despite the service and confusion, the food was still outstanding.
Based off of the great and unique food, I decided to bring 3 friends this past Sunday (August 3). Once again, the service was not even remotely attentive. Our server had another big party and we were essentially left in the dust. Many other servers would come over periodically to refill our drinks but food took 30-45 minutes per plate. It was frustrating to bring friends to a place with great food just to have the service let us down. Paying $50/person (tip included) does not sit well when you feel like you were not relaxed and taken care of.
The receptionist could not find our reservation, despite me showing her my confirmation. Rather than offer to accommodate us anyway, she said she could not seat us without a reservation. Fortunately her colleague’s common sense prevailed and we were seated after some time.
The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was creative and tasty.
The restaurant was very loud, making conversation very difficult.
Attentive staff. Good food. Some of our food items were very spicy.
The food is ridiculously good. Everything we ordered was amazing.
The waitress served drinks in an inefficient manner. For example, I ordered a beer and it took ten minutes to get another beer. After I complained, she brought my next beer in two minutes. Personally I feel like I should not have to complain to get a beer in more than five minutes unless the bar is crowded. About 10 people were at the bar. There was no reason for my table to be neglected.
The customer service was incredible by the waitstaff abs bartenders.
The bottomless drinks and brunch were well worth the money. We had rooftop seating and the weather and waiter were incredible. We will be back!
Amazing service, interesting and tasty food! Tapas but with asian twist
Lots of super loud people in their 20s come here. It's so loud. People also order tons of drinks and it takes a while to get drinks as a result. But the food is pretty good.
Food and drinks were great, server was even better! Highly recommend.
THE BARTENDER TONIGHT 7/12/18 WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOO RUDE I LOVE THE PLACE WE COULDNT GET ANY SERVICE, SHE APPEARED TO BE SUPER BUSY. WE ASKED FOR A DRINK AND FOOD DURING HAPPY HOUR IT TOOK 43min TO GET OUR FOOD AND TOOK 24min TO GET OUR SECOND ROUNDS OF DRINK SHE JUST KEPT WALKING BACK AND FOURTH IGNORING US. I LOVE THIS PLACE THE FOOD AND DRINKS ARE USUALLY AMAZING BUT I JUST HOPE TONIGHT WAS A BAD NIGHT AND WHEN OR IF I RETURN IT WILL BE THE SERVICE I AM USE TO.
Fabulous! Our waitress Courtney was outstanding! We were celebrating our son's Birthday. The restaurant has Tapas & wonderful drinks. Some of our favorites were the Beef Short Rib Sliders, Pork Belly Steam Buns, assorted Sushi, lots of Tapas with with seafood.
The manager thanked us personally for coming. Many other couples & friends eating and having a marvelous time! Can't wait to return.
I love the fact that I’m able to bring my kids to dine.
All you can eat and drink not always the way to go. Food not tasty drinks were rail and weak. You pay for what you get. Skip the bottomless brunch at Mass!
Incredibly tasty food (especially beef tacos). Very courteous service. Overall really great.
I don't think there are enough superlatives in the language to describe this restaurant! First, Dora was AMAZING. HUGE shout out to her. The endless tapas offering was the best for us and most economical. The edamame was disappointing - very little spice, no salt and otherwise bland. The remaining tapas dishes were SUPERB! Try to avoid filling up on dishes with lots of rice- go with the lighter fare and you will be able to sample MORE of these gastronomical delights. Six thumbs up (there were three of us)!!!
We will definitely be back!
I got the unlimited brunch and it was great for the value. The food was tasty and service excellent.
Love that they play good music. Makes it energetic fun experience
The restaurant was out of coffee, tea and the hot water machine was broken. In addition, food items on the all inclusive brunch menu were not available. The hostess was the rudest service person I’ve encountered in quite some time. The server was kind but her presentation was poor, her service was mediocre and we had to ask the table next to us for their extra silverware so that we could eat food that had been sitting for 15 minutes awaiting the server’s return. I should mention the upstairs rooftop was not that crowded or busy. They also ran out of champagne at an all inclusive champagne brunch and the food runners were slinging plates on the table without any regard. Frankly, I was quite embarrassed I’d chosen to bring my out of town friends to this place which is a horrible representation of quality DC dinning. I hold management fully accountable. I have no plans to return to this place.
The service was exceptional, it was lively and friendly , great place for a group of people after work.
I’m honestly a bit disappointed with my visit to Masa 14. I use to frequent this restaurant on a weekly basis, and upon my latest visit, I was shocked with how bland and unexciting the food has become. I use to love the food they served here, but now the menu is completely different and very bland to taste. Hopefully they are considering revamping their menu again or investing in a more skilled kitchen.
Very good a little pricey
