I got the unlimited brunch and it was great for the value. The food was tasty and service excellent.
Love that they play good music. Makes it energetic fun experience
The restaurant was out of coffee, tea and the hot water machine was broken. In addition, food items on the all inclusive brunch menu were not available. The hostess was the rudest service person I’ve encountered in quite some time. The server was kind but her presentation was poor, her service was mediocre and we had to ask the table next to us for their extra silverware so that we could eat food that had been sitting for 15 minutes awaiting the server’s return. I should mention the upstairs rooftop was not that crowded or busy. They also ran out of champagne at an all inclusive champagne brunch and the food runners were slinging plates on the table without any regard. Frankly, I was quite embarrassed I’d chosen to bring my out of town friends to this place which is a horrible representation of quality DC dinning. I hold management fully accountable. I have no plans to return to this place.
The service was exceptional, it was lively and friendly , great place for a group of people after work.
I’m honestly a bit disappointed with my visit to Masa 14. I use to frequent this restaurant on a weekly basis, and upon my latest visit, I was shocked with how bland and unexciting the food has become. I use to love the food they served here, but now the menu is completely different and very bland to taste. Hopefully they are considering revamping their menu again or investing in a more skilled kitchen.
Very good a little pricey
It started raining. Our table was outside and no one came to help take the food in. We had to move ourselves downstairs and was then told to go find out waiter upstairs to transfer the bill.
The food was wonderful and for the price, it was amazing! However, the service was less than fair as silverware was never given to me to the point where I had to get up and steal silverware from another table. I understand it's busy but it was a bit off putting
Unlimited brunch was great! $40 for all you can eat and drink from small plates and a selection of delicious brunch beverages (the Masa Mimosa with mango puree and blood orange was awesome). Wonderful service too!
This is a unique place. There are many menu items covering all tastes and temperatures. The friendly and attentive staff are remarkable.
Great brunch deal -- $39 bottomless drinks and food. They periodically served us the wrong dishes, but since everything was included under one price, it's kind of like, eh, whatever.
Let me start off by saying, we arrived 30 minutes past our reservation time. The hostess still found a suitable seat which I appreciated. The food was amazing and the service was great. We will be back.
Awesome bottomless brunch spot with great food and beverage selections. The food is a nice fusion of traditional breakfast with Latin and Asian influences.
I’m new to the area and my friends highly recommended this place for brunch. However, I was severely disappointed in the quality of the drinks and food that I had. I understand that in the interest of saving time a lot of items were premade, however, it really took away from the quality of your product. I first tried your bloody Mary and immediately sent it back because all it tasted like was watered down tomato juice. The Mimosa’s were slightly better but not by much. The food was decent but I could tell that they probably had been sitting for a while and so were not fresh by any means. It was deathly not worth the amount of money that we paid. The table that I was sitting at was falling apart. There was foam that was bowed underneath the table and felt very awkward when sitting there in a dress. The only redeeming quality of this place was that the service was good.
Please keep your bathroom floors dry. My friend fell in one because the floors were so wet.
Masa 14 was recommended by a friend and it was the perfect brunch spot. Food and drinks were delicious!
Good food, good service, interesting menu. I would definitely come back!!
Had a great time at Masa 14! Large group was easily accommodated. Our waitress was great, knowledgeable and friendly. Getting drinks took awhile, but food was prompt. Everything was delicious. Everyone took advantage of the unlimited food and drink deal-worth the price. Would highly recommend!!
Betty was our server and she was AMAZING. She was so attentive, and so personable. Loved our experience because of her!
Last night's dinner was my third meal at Masa 14 and I was disappointed and underwhelmed for the third time. Our party of 3 ordered a variety of tapas and each one was poor to fair in quality. The steak and shrimp fried rice was particularly unsatisfying - for the cost, I expected more than 2-3 overcooked pieces of steak and 1-2 small shrimp. The hot salmon dish arrived cold and low on flavor. Last night's meal was my third and last time at Masa 14.
I have been here 3x. This last experience was terrible. We had a reservation for brunch at noon, we got sat outside. My significant other and I were there for about 1 1/2 and only saw the server a handful of times. He didn’t even tell us what his name was when he first greeted us. We did the unlimited brunch and to our disappointment, our mimosas got refilled about 3x. At one point I went up to the hostess stand requesting a refill as the server hadn’t been to our table for about 25+ mins. Towards the end, the server finally showed up a couple more times. But it must’ve been due to me asking him if he forgot about us. His excuse was “it’s very busy inside”. So do the people sitting inside get better service than those sitting on the patio? Needles to say, I will not return.
Had reservations. Was seated pretty quickly. Our server, I can’t remember her name was very nice but lacked in attentiveness until the end of our dinner. We did the unlimited food and drinks, which only made sense for the drinks, which took forever to get from the bar (not sure if it was the bar or the server). The food wasn’t great, which was a huge disappointment. I remember they had a much larger menu that used to be less and now a smaller menu for more money, and their site still shows a different price than on their current menu. I’d only recommend coming for happy hour where drinks are cheaper.
Our server Eathan was awesome. We always have great service during our brunch here! Highly recommend for bottomless food and drink
We had a good time! The server Donna was great and extremely helpful! Will continue to come to this place!
Masa 14 never disappoints. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and my glass was never empty. We were celebrating the birthdays of two of our friends, and the staff went well out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. They even added candles the birthday cake we brought. Masa 14 is hands down my favorite brunch spot!
I had to push back our reservation a few times and they were very understanding. Very friendly and fast service. Great food, all you eat/drink for $65...can't beat that! Everything was delish!
Bethlehem was our waitress! She was extraordinary. The chef, the food, everything was wonderful.
Definitely will return to MASA 14. Exceptional service and amazing brunch.
Dirty glasses, dirty dishes, not attentive to the tables at all. It wasn’t even busy. Food was slow and wrong dishes were brought consistently
Though the food was good, the tapas were very small for the price points. The service, though well intended, was much too slow and uneven.
Good service! pretty restaurant and not great food. I have been several times over the years and it is clearly going downhill.
Excellent Brunch Unlimited Tapas/Drinks Selection! Took my friends who were visiting from out of town and we had a blast for brunch. Our waitress kept our drinks full and our food quickly. My new favorite place! We also came back during late night happy hour and had an amazing time! 100% Recommend if you are looking for a great rooftop, brunch, or late night hangout place!
This was my second time at Masa 14 after having a great experience the first time, however this time was night and day different. The service was terrible! There were 3 of us, and we all ordered the unlimited tapas and drinks. We received the first drink 20 minutes after ordering and waited another hour before the server even came back to our table. The food was also slow to arrive, but I will give compliments to the chef on the chipotle salmon sushi roll - incredible! As soon as the clock hit 10PM it basically turns into a night club. They turned the music up so loud that it was hard to hear anyone across the table.
Shawn was awesome and the food was great!
It’s a wonder this place stays in business — on each occasion I’ve been, the service has been a very poor experience, and the food is simply not good enough to make up for it. The waitstaff don’t seem to know the table numbers, so orders are sent out haphazardly and often to the wrong table (we watched this happen at other tables numerous times). We waited a very long time for our food, and even our fountain drinks. My fiancée ordered an iced tea that never came, and the waiter’s response when we brought this to his attention 20 minutes later was, “We ran out, I just forgot to tell you.” The place is loud and wants to give off a certain lounge vibe, but instead it leaves the impression that they don’t care much for your business or value your time. U Street is a cluster these days, but you can still do much better than Masa 14.
This place was awesome the food was amazing. Nothing we tried didn’t impress us. Our favorite was the miso bacon and the Kim chi fried rice. ! Also try the blood orange mimosa ! Will be back again. Our waitress also came by at perfect intervals for reordering food and refilling drinks so you can get your monies worth during the time limit of unlimited brunch.
I love Masa 14. We came here for my friends bachelorette party and were able to sit on the rooftop. It was a beautiful day and everything was delicious. At brunch they walk around with pitchers of mimosas to keep your glass full throughout the brunch. Would go back over and over again!! I was sad to see they no longer had the kimchi eggs benedict but everything was still very good.
Extremely disappointed! It's been more than a year since I've dined here, though I live just a few blocks from Maza. The delicious cocktails & sushi style items that I was previously fond of were very sub-par. Tuna Tataki seemed 'old' and drowning in sauce; other dishes like average bar-food fare. Mojito & Margarita's no longer freshly crafted - but thrown together with industrial style mixes. The main dining area was sparsely populated and the music was blasting. So sad to see this once great neighborhood restaurant slide into oblivion.
One of the worst meals I have ever had in my 40-years living in DC and my 29-years living in Logan Circle.
Fun, flavorful, tasty food and excellent service by Betty and her colleagues.
