Our server ignored us all the time. When it came to the charge , he said that the tip was included because it was a numerous party.(4kids , my wife and I). My little girls ordered fries. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday.
Paella was very salty. The manager was really kind as he deducted the paellas from my bill but the server didn't deserve a tricking penny. This is our last time in this restaurant.
The Valentine’s Day dinner was pretty bad, the white chocolate bisque was like eating a bowl of white chocolate and the short rib tasted like it was from a can! They should stick with their regular menu which is really good! Lesson learned not to go for special occasions!
Their regular tapas menu is usually pretty solid and that's usually what we would get but this time it was the prefix menu for Valentine's. The entrees were sub par. The fish was hard and my steak had a bitter burnt taste. The soup and salad were really good. Overall bit of a let down for me and my GF.
As always Michael Francis never fails to impress with his knowledge of the menu and his exquisite service!!!
I am not from ABQ unfortunately, but if I was I would definitely be a regular of his!!
Thank you again Michael!!
Third year in a row to eat at Mas during the week before Presidents Day as we make our way to Taos. Just don't go on Valentine's Day tho cuz it is a set menu and you can't enjoy all the small plates which are the best!!!
Received outstanding service from Michael! Thanks so much for a great dining experience!!
Service was fairly slow, which is understandable for a Sunday night. We had the bacon wrapped dates which were good but the sauce they gave was really liquify when we were expecting goat cheese.
Loved the decor and ambiance. Very chic and creative. Contemporary, yet with natural elements. I felt like I was in a special place. Have a drink in one of the casbahs before heading to the main restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, just right. Cheese plate and olives were divine. We had issues with our other 2 plates, though. My husband had the fried oysters, and the breading was so thick, he could not eat them. A pricey fail. My scallops were cooked to perfection with a nice aioli, and would have been wonderful if not for WAY too much salt on them. I finished the dish, but again a disappointment.
This restaurant is an absolute must in Albuquerque. Their tapas are outstanding, they have a great wine list, and the service is impeccable. The hotel is historic and beautiful, and valet parking makes it very easy to ignore the meter parking downtown.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Good Options and staff offer reasonable options in menu
I lived in Spain and love tapas when done right. The menu here is traditional Spanish with a SW US twist. We tried eight of their tapas and most were excellent. The wild boar and fried quail were fantastic, and definitely our favotites. Pork belly, lamb chops, and elk tenderloin were excellent, and the patatas bravas were a great SW twist on the traditional. Prices are a little high, but but the quality made this a fair value in our opinion.
Fabulous in every way!
Very friendly service and good food. Scallops were amazing. Grilled artichokes were cooked well, but too tangy. I saw a few things come out of the kitchen that looked (and smelled) very tasty!
Our food at Mas was absolutely amazing. The service was a tiny bit slow, and they did something weird with the checks, but this was a lovely experience overall. Thanks!
Birthday. Food was excellent, portions substantial (for tapas) wine list is exceptional.
The menu is very confusing and not friendly to the reader whatsoever.... I think someone need to re-examin, review and revamp most of it... many people said we will not go back to eat at all, we will just go there to have drinks in the open area/ band and bar area.
Excellent tapas in downtown Albuquerque. I had the paella - portion was perfect and you didn't ever get a bite of just rice. My friend liked the bone marrow small plate so much that she ordered a second. Definitely would go here again!
Fantastic Scallops, Octopus, Date&Bacin wrapped chorizo and Grilled Artichokes. Yummy.
The wine list is superb. The tapas present an adventure of different flavors and textures. One small complaint - the "crispy" brussel sprouts were neither crisp nor fresh. Perhaps we should have said something at the time, but were reluctant to bring negativity to an otherwise very pleasant evening.
We’ve eaten at Mas Tapas several times before. The service and food did not live up to their previous levels. First of all we had to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time before we could be seated. Because it was New Year’s Eve there was a fixed menu. We were served the first course on three separate occasions because they couldn’t get it right. The soup was never hot. The main course included a 2 ounce piece of Seabass. While this was well prepared it was the only thing satisfactorily for the whole meal. It was not enough. The desert, I’m afraid the chef needs to go back to pastry school, it was a dry piece of pumpkin bark with little flavor served with a lavender cream. All in all I would not go back here for a special occasion with a set menu.
We visited Mas for New Years and had made reservations... our reservation was for 8:30 and were not seen until 10pm. The food was good but the servings were minimal, almost as if they had run out of food and we were getting the scraps. I would not recommend anyone to eat there for New Years. I was very disappointed.
Excellent food and service. Was not able to use NYE party tixs included in fixed menu price.
Disappointed that regular menu unavailable for New Years Eve. Not even Paella available.
Get-together with old friends meeting my new girlfriend for first time.
Choice was $80. Prix Fixe menu. We probably would have spent that much anyway.
My girlfriend didn't like any of the three entrees : Elk, Sea-bass, or green chile stuffed game hen. That was it. We were expecting the usual wonderful array of choices.
Great Place loved the Tapas and the stuff was friendly. Head Chef Marc Quinones is awesome
On our New Mexico trip we dined at a number of good restaurants. Top of the list is MAS Tapas y Vino! Most creative. Very reasonably priced. Excellent wine list.
Always new and interesting flavor combos!
Excellent Christmas Day meal, albeit a little pricey!
Great place, great service and excellent food. Highly recommend!
