Sadly, the only reason for the poor review is that I booked this reservation, received a confirmation, and when we arrived, it was closed for renovations!! I made this reservation for my husband, my 94 year old father and myself, my Father just moved to West Chester so we’ve been exploring the restaurant scene there with him and after my husband dropped us off to cross the street on a very cold and dark Sunday evening, my father and I discovered the restaurant was closed for renovations! Since we received a confirmation, I would have no reason to suspect that it was not open. We don’t live super close. We were very disappointed, to have to figure out a plan B for Sunday dinner with my dad. Thankfully West Chester has options, but not being familiar with the area and having to quickly figure something out on the go was not how we planned to spend our evening together. Please have whoever is responsible, fix the status on Open Table to save others from making the same mistake.
Best dining experience in West Chester in years since COVID started. Attentive server, food came out in reasonable time and very good. Highly recommend!
Food is not great and margaritas are weak, but the rooftop and atmosphere are great on a warm evening
Food was OK a little bland
After initial visit by sever, waited 15 min for water and 20 min for our drinks. Ordered mahi tacos that provided about half the fish I ordinarily receive in a fish taco. The signature margaritas seemed light on tequila as well.
The only spot open was the roof which was great but was told the bar was full by the hostess and when I got up there there were two people sitting at the bar. Also everything took a long time to come, particularly the drinks. Food was very good through as always
All of our food was good with the exception of my husband‘s fish taco that tasted very fishy and the shredded beef taco that had a strange taste to it he could not eat it. Drinks were good, fajitas were good, nachos were good. We had reservations celebrating our grandson’ girlfriend‘s 21st birthday, we were not informed that the restaurant would be closed except for the rooftop. I am handicap and walk with a cane and I had to go up four flights of stairs because the elevator was broke ( took 10 mins.) and could not use the bathrooms because I hurt too much from doing the four flights, I could not go down two flights and come back up again, they should tell customers especially when they make reservations. We’re from out of town and it was too late to try to regroup and do anything else. I did lose a very good earring there also and have called to see if they found it. I’m going to post a picture here in case you can print it out and look for it. The hostess has my name and phone number, her name is Julia I think.
Server was busy and forgot napkins and silverware but other than that it was a good experience
Mas Mexicali has a tremendous team and the food was outstanding! Be sure to check them out, you will be pleased!
Have been a fan in the past but food quality on this trip has significantly deteriorated. We loved the queso in the past and now we just got a bowl of melted velveeta, no flavor and not even melted well. I got a wet burrito and it was so dried out inside with the chicken dry and no flavor at all. The rojo sause was just spicy and no good flavor, tasted like spicy tomato paste and was not wet. Looked like it sat too long under the lights or they put in an oven and made it more solid on top. My husband's meal was better than mine but not up to past standards. To top it off, the restaurant was freezing cold and uncomfortable. Overall, seem to have gone down hill overall except for our server was very good.
Can be pricey but worth it. Foods amazing and they definitely don’t skimp with the alcohol.
Server was slow and not friendly
Food was fair
Won’t hurry back
Continues to be a great place. Glad to see them make it to the other side of this pandemic.
Had a really good time. It was Margarita Monday and we are in a Mexican Cantina so you can imagine how much easier that made things. my two qualms were it was so dimly lit at our table that I had to break out my cameras flashlight to be able to read the menu. The table was wobbly. and the food was a little better than average, it wasn't like I was blown away and I usually am if Mexican hits the right spot.
The place was freezing, the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. I won’t dine there again.
It could of been better. Need better music and more
Stopped in for a quick bite while running errands. Not crowded due to Covid I’m sure. Food was good. One downfall, the bathroom is upstairs.
Great food and service!
It was our servers first night and she was awesome. Attentive, prompt and friendly. I didn’t catch her name but she was on her game!
Service is either great or awful with great being the exception. The margaritas are not great and the food is fairly bland. I want to like this place but just can’t after so many bad to average experiences.
Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff! Good place to visit in West Chester:)
Good food overall. Spent a couple of hours at the bar having margaritas while we waited for a table. The quality of the margaritas was iffy until we ordered a couple of Patron special ones and they were great. The chicken quesadillas we had at the bar were great. The chicken fajitas we had at dinner were very good, but the beef ones not as good. The meat was kind of chewy.
We normally don’t go on Saturday night but this time we did. Our waitress didn’t give us nachos like they normally do until we asked. I noticed other tables also didn’t get nachos. She wasn’t attentive and the only duties she did was take our order, deliver drinks and give us the check. A busboy brought out the food. I was very unhappy about service where normally it’s good. There were 3 hostesses standing around while a crowd stood in doorway. Ridiculous set up when you walk in because everyone waiting blocks the door. Food was delicious thankfully.
Good food and drinks
We were seated right away and had very good service, but the food just wasn't that great. The best part of the meal were the nachos which were a special that night. The margaritas were good too. My daughter had enchiladas and she loved them, but the other 4 of us didn't care for our meals.
Service great - accommodated allergies reasonably well. Food overall a bit bland. Great ambience.
Food and service was great. A little loud.
Food was great ! Cocktails were a let down.need to improve there alcohol quality.
The menu changed now charging you for chips & salsa. Used to be all you want at no cost. Waitress was very slow not checking if we needed extra drinks & when we asked for another drink she forgot about them. seems like less meat in the fajitas platter. Not happy & bummer cause I really liked this place.
The burrito was the best I have had on the East coast. Packed with meat and huge! It was enough for 2 more meals. We had reservations so we’re seated right away. The ambience was not so good due to the level of noise particularly from the bar area. Overall, if you like Mexican food you will enjoy your visit to Mad Mexicali Csntina!
Food was ok not impressed with selection and most of our guest believe it was just ok
Waitress was good but lacked the training to know when to circle back to check in
I heard awesome things and it was an early dinner on a Saturday and town was rather slow this weekend before thanksgiving so I would have expected a better attention to the meal. Fajitas had cast iron platings but no sizzling or extreme heat to the fajitas itself. My shrimp taco tasteless and tough
Maybe the 3rd floor was the attraction to all of the reviews from coworkers but I’ll have to see that n the spring
Foods good but service has been terrible both times
I have been recently. Probably won’t go back
Drinks were SUPER WEAK, food was great, service was great. Drinks were just really overpriced!
A very festive atmosphere and the prices are reasonable!
We were hesitant to dine at mas again. My husband's meal wasn't correct on the two occasions we previously dined. I talked him into giving mas one more shot and he received an incorrect meal for the the third time.
Went because it was National Taco Day, which they advertised, but they only had one basic taco as a special. The drinks are absurdly over-priced, especially if you want to upgrade your tequila. (Picture a small cup, stuffed full of ice, with very little drink, and then paying $14 for it.) We won’t make that mistake again!!!
Margaritas are not the Best, very watered down, but the food was great and roof top dining experience is excellent!
Food was great!
I got guacamole as an appetizer and that too was delicious.
The waitress we had just took a little too long in asking us for another drink and asking us if we wanted dessert (which we did get the fried ice cream) overall, it was great! Highly recommend it. Rooftop is so relaxing!
Good rooftop dining! Really enjoy the food and drink. Easy spot to hang with friends!
