Checked this place out for my husband's birthday. Food was AMAZING and the customer service was top notch. Large wine selection. I'd recommend it for special occasions.

$15 Caesar salad. Literally a small plate of lettuce and dressing. $65 salmon accompanied by a bit of plain quinoa.

It was great.

From the butter on the great rolls
to the final spoonful of dessert.
Beginning to end.

A bucket list event
that must be repeated.

We were given a gift to get
us to go.

Now we will be glad to pay it forward.

Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Hard to believe we've missed this gem on our many trips up to Anchorage for business.
The food & service were impeccable from the first glass of wine to the last bite of carrot cake... and everything in between. Table-side Caesar & halibut cheeks were outstanding. We're all looking forward to making Marx Bros. Cafe an annual Spring tradition.

nice as usual; became more noisy as more people arrived.
BTW, it is spelled "Cabaret"

Wonderful food, wonderful service.
A little (unusually) noisy so moved to the more private area.
It’s the place to go for fabulous food and service in Anchorage.

Every time that I eat here, I remember why the Marx Brothers has stayed in business for so long . The service, food and wine choices are all Outstanding! We had a lovely time celebrating my son’s admission to law school. The service is perfect and added to the occasion.

Simply great food in a great tiny 14 table restaurant. The wine list was very good, eclectic and we'll priced. Nabbed a 2013 cayuse syrah for $125 that was spectacular and paired well with the truly delicious tea smoked duck dish. Bravo Marx Bros cafe!!

We had a wonderful special romantic date night here at Marx Bros, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the same. The price is perhaps a bit high, but the quality of food and service are top notch. I would consider going back just for appetizers and the cesar salad experience. Best caesar of my life!

We always find the service attentive and friendly; the food excellent. They always have thoughtful accompaniments to the protein being served in the entrée. The Mahi Mahi was excellent as was the venison loin. All a cooked very properly and seasoned nicely.

We apparently have been there often enough that we get served our usual drink selection right away.

Food was outstanding - possibly the best salmon we have ever had. The place is small and intimate - perfect for a nice dinner with friends enjoying great food together. However, the night we were there, a party of 12 was celebrating a birthday right next to us. The noise level was so high we could not even converse among ourselves. They only have 14 tables. Management should rethink its acceptance of parties this large. I am sure the partiers had a great time, but it certainly detracted from the overall experience of everyone else.

This place was recommended by two friends that go frequently. So I made the reservations, they called me that day to inform us that the street was closed because of an event downtown, which we thought was very nice. So we arrived there and was told our table was being cleaned off . I am not sure what happened but we didn't get seated for 45 minutes! My husband was not enthused. We had the seafood mousse, Caesar salad, and the alaska rockfish en papillote. Food was nice but the wait just turned us in a bad mood. I am not sure we will go back. We like trying places and finding our go to places. But I cant include them on the list because of what happened.

Never disappointed with my experience here.
The Caesar is the best in town. If you have the opportunity to take the class, I would go learn how easy it is to make (I have not taken the class but found Van’s recipe online).

Very date-night worthy. Knowledgeable wait staff that will help you pair your wine and dinner. The only disappointment was the berry crisp my husband had, gloopy and had a thick layer of brown sugar that felt like sand on your mouth. Other than that, best meal ever!

I am a 50+ year Alaskan and have dined there before but this time was a little disappointing. The service was off, the Cesar salad tasted like a soggy garlic lick. The thing that really set me off was the waiter that poured my second glass of wine from the bottom of the bottle should have known it had fair amount of sediment in it. Not only was it only about 3 onces but almost all of it was sediment. Not being familiar with this bottle I took drink which was almost all sediment! The entree and the dessert were fantastic.
