Brilliant evening made to feel like a local great place
Food was good. Nice local place. Good staff, good service.
Alex is a fantastic waiter and the management always look after us. this is a neighborhood gem which is why we keep coming back
What a nice surprise this place turned out to be. My friend and I were looking for a place convenient for us both, I found Marazzula on Open Table, and we met with no expectations. The food turned out to be delicious (shrimp with garlic in wine sauce appetizer was gourmet quality, so were the sole and branzino). Thewaiter was smart and attentive, and the host paid attention to each table. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable.
My favorite Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. The food is excellent and the atmosphere and staff are welcoming and comfortable.
Lovely experience for a birthday celebration
Birthday dinner & visit from family
Neighborhood restaurant where one is always made to feel welcomed & special.
Delicious food and very accommodating. They made me a veal piccata even though it wasn’t on the menu. We ate outside. Great service and lovely evening.
Great food and service. Changed menu to our taste.
Love this reliable spot in my neighborhood. Everyone friendly and eager to please. Food is your basic, traditional Italian and that's a good thing! A recent Caccio e Pepe with homemade pasta was perfect.
We ate here for the first time and it’s our new favorite gem. The menu is great food amazing and the staff couldn’t have been nicer to us if we were family. Special thanks to the owner and our waiter Alex.
I’ve eaten in almost every high rated Italian restaurant in the UES and this is our new favorite
What a wonderful authentic italian restaurant! Great if you look for a nice place with outdoor seating on the UES, food was excellent, service perfect - and the best prosecco I have had so far in NYC. We can recommend it to everyone, and we'll definitely return!!!
Wonderful Italian! We’re here every week. The owners treat you like family! Highly recommend!!
Lovely little restaurant. Excellent food as always. Went out of their way to expand our table outside when I erroneously made my reservation for 2 instead of 3. Great service.
Ordered veal Marsala... was ok with the smallest pieces of veal I have ever seen. Definitely not worth the the $27.
If you're thinking about having pasta with a delicious sauce, something very much Italian, this is the place.
This is our go to Italian Restaurant on the Upper East Side. Their cocktails are unsurpassed, their pasta, so fresh and fish, veal and chicken amazing. We even got to sit in the outside cafe! Totally delightful along with the service!
The food and service is always excellent. We are repeat diners at Maruzzella and often bring friends there because they are so welcoming. The highlight of the evening is always the gracious greeting and service we receive from the owner.
Always a solid meal, no matter if the choice is off the menu or one of the numerous specials. A real neighborhood joint. Great value for good food.
Great food and service. Very attentive staff.
My wife and I have been dining here for almost 20 years and neither of us can think of any better place to have a great Italian meal. The food is excellent and the service is unbeatable. I have also introduced my business partner to this place and he has assured me that the linguini and clam sauce is the best he’s ever eaten anywhere.
A special thank you to Tomasso, my wife’s favorite waiter who knows exactly how we like our food prepared.
Our go to upscale Italian on the East Side, but no more. Our Birthday dinner was an unfortunate experience. It took forever for the " Server" to bring over some menus. When the wine arrived it was of poor quality, certainly for $13.00 per glass. The fried Calamari, served by a surly " Server", inally came out but we had to ask for the tomato dipping sauce which was absent. Our main dishes were bland and uninspired. The chocolate cake dessert was straight out of the refrigerator and the coffee took so long that we were about to cancel it. Sadly, Maruzella has become overpriced and mediocre. There are so many good choices on the East Side that Maruzella goes off the list. I would rather have had some compliments for them.
We've come to this restaurant a few times and the food is always consistently wonderful, however, every time we come we feel rushed by the waiter! It's a hot place, which is why you need a reservation, but they are on you the minute they see your plate empty, even if others at your table haven't finished. If you don't order dessert, your check is put in front of you immediately with the expectation that you will pay and leave, even though you are still trying to digest your food. This is a pricey restaurant, but the food is excellent quality. I will definitely come back but hope they can stop rushing us!
Excellent Italian on the UES with professional and timely service. Varied menu from pastas to veal to chicken to fish and shellfish; lots of varieties of appetizer salads as well. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp in spicy marinara sauce with broccoli rabe and the pesto pasta.
We just moved to the neighborhood and tried Maruzella out. Overall, very pleased! Very good food and excellent value. We will be regulars!
Top UES Italian in that mid-level category.
At least a few levels above basic pasta joint, but a notch below high-enders.
Perfect for weekend meal or even a treat during the week.
Shrimp in spicy marinara sauce with broccoli rabe was outstanding.
Excellent service, very accommodating. We asked if the mussels appetizer listed with marinara sauce was available with the classic white wine, garlic sauce and our waiter said no problem at all for the kitchen to do.
Only issue is most of the pastas have pork or organ meat, so limited options for those who don't eat pork and organ meat
We always enjoy Maruzzella. food and service are routinely excellent.
Thought the food was overpriced, and substandard. There was an inedible in the chicken, and a small hard rock like particle in the pasta. The salad lettuce looked tired. We would not return.
A neighborhood gem! Always delicious food and great service! Staff is excellent! We loved it!
We enjoyed the entire meal. Portions were generous and served pipping hot.
First time at this restaurant. The only dish that was not up to par was the veal ....but the rest of our party enjoyed their dinner. Will return!
Food was bland. Service was awkward. Surprised a place like this is still in business
Three of us girlfriends had a night out. The service was attentive and friendly. We shared 2 salads among the 3 of us and 2 desserts. We really enjoyed the food and weren't rushed at all. Will definitely return!
Our go to place for a Birthday dinner. Nice service and good Italian food. A bit pricey but you'll leave happy.
This was my first experience at Maruzzella and the first of many to come. Amid a treasure trove of restaurants it is a singular jewel. The food was delicious. There is a nice selection of handmade pasta dishes on the menu. My friend and I decided on dishes from the Specials. I had the homemade beef ravioli and my friend had the shrimp, both were excellent. The service was perfect. The restaurant was busy but the noise level was low and we could hear each other without raising our voices. We were welcomed warmly upon arrival and wished well as we left.
Food was delicious, really good quality! A bit pricey, so we won't be able to go often, but once in awhile we will splurge.
A great neighborhood spot in the Upper East Side......
Delicious as always! Great meal!
Great neighborhood Italian. Nice atmosphere, great service and food.
2nd visit will be back for more. Best bargain for Italian on UES.
