   It was my first visit. Unfortunately the air conditioner was out of service and my date and I had left due to the unpleasant temperture.

   They were great at accommodating us on short notice. The karaoke booth was fun, though the song selection was not as comprehensive as we hoped. Everything went fine until the end. But, 15 minutes before our time was up, a staff member delivered our bill, and from that point on she started to come into our room every other minute to check If we had paid. She started making faces and acting annoyed, which made us all very uncomfortable. It’s a pity that her rudeness spoiled what would have been a fun night among friends.

   I was excited to spend my 23rd birthday at Maru but unfortunately it wasn’t what I expected. The food was good, but they told us they served dinner until 3am which really they only served sushi and fried food like appetizers. We ordered our food and they brought us the check right away , before our food even came. They thought we were going to run out or something which would have been impossible seeing they’re on the 3rd floor! We all received our food and there was no silverware. We had to ask for forks and they told us “they were being cleaned”. My mom took her food home because of got so cold waiting on a fork and when we got home we realized they didn’t pack the mash potatoes or broccoli that came with the food. We were furious seeing it was a 22$ plate. When they brought my cake out they left it in the box , didn’t bother to take it out. Long story short , don’t go here if your not Korean because they will treat you different !!! The food was great and the place was pretty but horrible service!!!!!

   The host and staff could do better at guiding first time guest. For example order bar food only because they don't do take out and that's the better food choice. The ladies room could use a bit of tlc as well.

   Such a great place for karaoke! And the sushi was incredibly Great! The calamari too!

   Made a reservation for 6pm for dinner based on positive reviews on Open Table. Got there a little early but couldn't find the entrance. It turns out it is in an office building and you have to take this shady elevator up to the restaurant. When we finally got inside, we were the only people there. They had no record of our reservation and didn't seem ready for us. When we reviewed the menu, there was very little selection so we ended up leaving. It did have interesting décor and private rooms for karaoke so is probably fun if you are going for karaoke but wouldn't plan on it for a relaxing dinner.

   Maru Lounge and their staff were great and vibrant as usual. My friends had a great time in our Karaoke room. The bouncer by the restrooms was a little excessive and honestly scary, but everything else about this place is superb.

   We had a lot of fun with the actual karaoke, but that's where the positives end. The service was rude and unhelpful. Waiters hardly spoke English. They didn't have many of the songs we searched for, and these were not obscure song choices! Also, the food and drinks in combination with the less-than-beautiful private room were not worth the $700 they charged for two hours!! They also failed to tell us that gratuity was going to be added on top of the already ridiculous price for the room. We wouldn't go back.

   The food was absolutely delicious! The ambience was friendly, fun and youthful. And the dance floor helped me to relieve a lot of stress.

    Well the occasion for my outing was my birthday. What caught my eye about this spot at first was its name Maru. It's MY childhood nickname that I still use today. It's originated from my family calling out my real name but in Spanish. I just had to look into it to see wast it was about. I'm glad we came here. I really enjoyed this place. We didn't rent a room which we will do next time just for the experience. We had a table. Good environment good location. Our host was kind, very attentive and courteous. We never waited long for our next drink or order of food which was all good for bar food, our choice. We especially loved their buffalo wings. Most of us enjoyed their appletinis. I will definitely recommend this place to other people.
