If you want to have a business meeting or family dinner join us between 6pm and 10pm when you can listen to classics from Sinatra to John Coltrane. From 10pm till 2am, the music kicks up and the party begins. If you see this concept anywhere in the world, know it began at Cafe Martorano in 1983.

Martorano's Atlantic City Ratings and Reviews
A table of Harrah's employees sucked the servers into their orbit and their arrogance to have to have their egos stroked left an entire half of this dining room left to watch this display in disgust. One table of 7 right beside them, there before we arrived, still did not have anything but bread even after the employees had all their food and towering deserts brought to them. We watched booth after booth as well waiting as we did, no food, no attention. When our food finally came, a man in a blue shirt and slacks plopped it down gruffly and said ,"here's your food". He acted like it was a huge imposition. I will add that we did not have a chance to speak with our server to ask where our food was, so this was just attitude by someone that resented delivering our dinners. We had it packaged, my linguini with all 3 shrimp at $48, and his veal parm which was like leather. Our bill was $158 for 2 salads and entrees with one glass of wine. Couldn't get our servers attention to get a second glass. Have been there before, but will NEVER go back. It is back to the Borgata for us.
Upscale restaurant, as are the prices, located in Harrah's Casino, Atlantic City. Located near the theater. Dinner absolutely delicious. I had the meatball salad, with an entree special, shrimp and spaghetti with broccoli. I tried a Sicilian Mule as my drink, Tito's vodka, near beer with a lime wedge in a copper mug. Service was wonderful, with great personal attention. Martorano's offers a large wine selection. There are screens with a movie playing throughout the restaurant. Some may be acceptable, some not. We were fortunate, A Christmas story was playing (closed captioned). apropos for season, and we were going to see Mannheim Steamroller at the theater. Didn't try the desserts, but they looked great. If you like great food and service, this is a place to visit. It can be a little noisy, tables are close together, definitely make a reservation.
The food is always great. The service was a little slow but good. Well, because the restaurant was completely full. The menu is excellent with the fine wine list. There is always new items on the menu every time I go. I love the Italian music playing all the time, its great. The place is always spotless which I like very much. I go there every time when I visit at Harrah's. See you next time!
Started with the Sweet & Spicey Calamari for appetizer-Great start. I ordered the Veal Parmigiana for entree-Very Good, and my wife ordered her favorite, the Center Cut Pork Chop-
Excellent. for dessert, it was Waffles with Ice Cream-a great finish. Service was excellent. Another great meal at Martorano's.
AS THE REVIEWS WERE VARIED, I WAS A TAD SKEPTICAL ;HOWEVER ; EVERYTHING WAS SUPERB. THE FOOD WAS GREAT, WITH NICE SIZED PORTIONS, AND THE ATMOSPHERE WAS LOVELY, AS WELL. OUR SERVERS, SIGNE AND ROBERTO WERE ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY. TO TOP IT OFF, A LARGE SLICE OF DELICIOUS CARROT CAKE WAS COMPLIMENTARY FOR JIM'S BIRTHDAY.(TOOK IT TO GO--TOO MUCH GREAT BREAD WITH EVOO AND PARM, WHICH THEY ALSO KEPT FILLED) WILL TOTALLY RETURN !
Disappointed. The waiter who took our drinks and dinner order was never seen until the end of our meal. Support staff was excellent. My wife said her veal dish was good. My meatball salad was just fair. The broccoli rabe side order was undercooked and bland. Having no other choice but to view the Godfather movie shown on all the tv's was unappetizing.
The service my family and I got on Thanksgiving from server Michael was a hundred percent better then the service we got on thus day from Ryan W was not so great. It felt like he was rushing us out the door. Michael was more attentive. He came back to the table repeatedly to see how we were doing. Ryan W came by twice and each time he barely stuck around to even listen to the response.
wanted a quiet and romantic , peaceful evening after a hectic day, got it this evening with exceptional service, good food and a pleasant environment. I have heard others say it can be loud, we were 7:30 and it was fine for us, we are older and appreciate being able to talk to each other in a normal tone without competition from surrounding people and music. Our server was polished and did not hover, other staff came and went without causing us to stop and wait for them, I appreciate this.
Seated as soon as we presented at reservation time. Given a quiet booth. Service quick and attentive. Informed and pleasant server. First course came out promptly (salad) followed too quickly by appetizer and entree too soon after. Servers could see that we were not finished with prior course when they served up the next one. Shouldn’t happen when dining in an upscale restaurant. Food flavors good, however meats were over cooked. A $50 pork chop should cooked properly and not dry and chewy. Atmosphere very nice and decor clean and appropriate for desired effect. If food spacing and if meats were cooked properly this would be a 4 star rated establishment. Potential for a truly enjoyable experience with a little tweaking. I would return and instruct server and change entree choice.
It was my birthday celebration. When I reserved a table I made it clear it was for my birthday. They did nothing for me. Didn't even acknowledge it. Food was bland. Waiters were old men who seemed like it was their first day on the job. Not very welcoming at all. And they put us at a table with a speaker over it. The music was blaring so loud we couldn't even hear each other as we screamed at each other to talk. Then their "systems" all went down when it was time to pay and they kind of kept us hostage there until I flipped and said it's my birthday I am not sitting here waiting for your system to come back up. They couldn't bill your room or anything. I ended up giving a 100.00 voucher from my 7 star account even though our dinner didn't come to that just to get the hell out of there. Is it a restaurant or a night club?? Very disappointing and I would never go there again. Chicken parm was about a 5 out of a 10...hardly no sauce. No flavor. Gnocchi were over cooked and soggy. Could not substitute Gnocchi for another pasta. No soup or salad. Bread was hard with sesame seeds. Awful experience. Wish I never chose this place to eat at let alone celebrate my birthday at...oh wait..we didnt....glad we told them it was my birthday. Way too loud. Oh then the lights went dim and some blaring movie came on the tvs with the f word...I'm not a prude but what was the point in that?? Really weird place. Nothing classy about this place at all.
Though I wasn't overly impressed with the food or the prices, I think it would be a fun place to go with a group. There were many groups dining around us and the music was very good. Too noisy for a first date or special occasion if you're looking for intimate. Our server was adequate but not particularly friendly which made it slightly less pleasant too.
Dinner is always amazing at Martorano's A.C. ! We have had dinner on multiple occasions with family and friends and never had a bad meal. The bar is always our favorite place to hang and have dinner and drinks. This time was my daughter's 21st birthday and as usual no disappointments ! Looking forward to our next visit hopefully soon !
