Marti's New River Bistro
This was my first time at Marti’s. My friend and I were seeing a show and decided to stay close to the theater so we could enjoy good food, the river, and catch up. Our server was wonderful. She was attentive and always had a smile. The drink from the bar was good. The menu is set for the night and offered unique choices of everything from the appetizers to dessert. The appetizer was good, a fried kimchi flavored rice ball. The people at the table next to us said the shrimp Bloody Mary was uneventful. Flat. Bland. The biggest disappointment was the main course, which was to be butternut squash, farro and risotto. My dish did not have any butternut squash, only a chunk of a hollowed our skins filled with farro. The farro/risotto was dry and flavorless. Risotto is creamy, no? I tried to scrape out squash from the skin, but it was hard-not cooked. $70 for one person is a lot of money to be this disappointed. We won’t be going back.
Outstanding service provided by our waiter Joseph. Entire staff was welcoming. Food was creative and delicious. Wonderful time.
Great food lovely atmosphere great service! Will definitely return
Love this place! Excellent food and great service. The view is wonderful.
Staff is very accommodating! Service is excellent! Food is fabulous! Nice ambiance! I highly recommend Marti's .
New menu should be thrown out.
Servers should go out with the menu!
Disappointing on every level.....ruined our night out.
Dinner was surprisingly good , and the service was outstanding. We were celebrating our anniversary and noted that on our reservation. Didn’t remember that until writing this review. No acknowledgement of it being a special occasion.
The Prix Fixe Menu was very nice, but we wished they had some a la carte items available as well.
We don’t eat dessert, so we felt we were paying for things we did not want.
We have eaten here many times before shows without any problems. The food is always good, the servers friendly and efficient. This past time however, despite the fact that it was NOT crowded it took a long time to get our food and we JUST made show time.
Excellent place to dine a hen attending events at the BCPA.
Brunch was outstanding and the menu choices and portions were perfect for the occasion.
Good food and wonderful service
The best pre-theatre dinner we have had since we have been going to Broward Center. The food was excellent and the service outstanding!
Great place for dinner before the theater! Great service and beautiful views
Great if you are going to the Broward Center for a show.
The food was pre-made and bland. Not worth the money. A place like this should serve much better quality food with much better choices. We won't be dining there again. Which is a shame because we attend many shows at the Broward Center, so it's very convenient.
The quality of the food was poor. We mentioned it to our server, the manager came over and agreed. Stated she "told the chef yesterday that they should not plate the prosciutto early". Why would you say this to a customer? It needed to be fixed, we did not need an opinion. There was no offer to fix it, or compensate us. The service was so slow we were late to the theater. Is 90 minutes note enough time to eat a pre-fix menu?
Very nice food. Excellent service and views.
As always it is a pleasure to dine at Marti's New River Bistro. My cousin and I had lunch their before the show this past Saturday. We had a lovely time and the food was delicious. Our server, Christopher, was very good and a pleasure. Only one comment, we ordered Eggs Benedict and they came out and looked beautiful and on the plate there was this little tiny pile of what I believed to be potatoes that were so dark and cut so tiny and the portion so tiny they should not have bothered putting it on the plate at all.
Extremely convenient for shows at the Broward Center.
Very nice presentation. However, the fish that I had was dry and was not adequately described by the server.
Will try again!
Good menu selection. Food was good and the presentation was excellent. A bit pricey for the area. Service was lovely
Great food, ambiance and service too. Joseph was super!
The ambience was lovely. Beautiful site on new river.
Limited pre-fix theatre menu but everything well prepared and presented.
Went with my family for Mother’s Day and had a wonderful time. Our server Joseph made sure that we all enjoyed our meal, especially my Mother. Will definitely return.
The food is good, and the servers are equally good. And the place is very beautiful: simple, clean and a view of the Intracoastal. Love dining there before Broward Center performances. Right on the premises. Wish it were easier to get into! Always full on performance nights. I had the Monk fish entree, and it was very tasty.
service efficient and personable. New menu items excellent.
Crystal the hostess is fabulous. Our waiter Joseph was terrific.
This is a great pre-theater restaurant for the Broward Center since it is right on the property.
great place to eat before the theater. It's an easy walk thru the tunnel right before the show starts, you can even take your wine with you.
This little gem of a restaurant is a wonderful way to start an evening at the theater. Beginning with our table with a view of the water, the service and the food, and the short "tunnel" that led to the theater, the entire experience was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food and presentation. Excellent service. Very convenient before a show at Broward Center.
Perfect meal and location for pre show meal at Broward Performing Arts! Great service 👍
I always enjoy going to Marti's before a performance. It adds to the experience making for a very special day. Food and service always are outstanding. Thank you Marti's!
There was three of us and we each ordered a different appetizer, They were all great and nice looking the Salad was a cute presentation. I had the Chicken dish it was delicious and again the presentation was wonderful, But the Dessert!!! Over the top they were mini and cute a perfect size and delicious ! Service was great, we were not disappointed.
My husband and I enjoyed our Easter Sunday brunch at Marti's Bistro with a fabulous view of the River. The prix fixe menu options though limited, were very good, pleasing us both with our individual choices. A luscious Mimosa was the perfect complement. The noise level was minimal and the ambiance was very relaxed. Both Sarah, the Manager and John, our waiter provided excellent customer service making us feel welcome as always.
Had been previously when first opened and always suspect when delivering price fixed before theater menus but clearly the chef has changed since I was there last. A clever Asian turn on Matzah Ball soup which was delicious. A half chicken stuffed with risotto - savory. Short Rib with wonderfully but lightly spiced Asian brown noodles - simply mouth watering with a side of tri-sliced spring roll added a nice palette cleanser for the more sweet and savory sauce on the short rib. Waiter was eager to please.
Definitely going back!
I have eaten brunch at Marti's on several occasions but have never enjoyed a dinner there. After reading mixed reviews about the quality and variety of food served at dinner I decided to take a chance with a pre-show reservation and am happy I did. The service was excellent, the choice of appetizers and main courses was good and the quality of the food that came out of the kitchen was excellent. Four of us chose 3 appetizers - eggplant, salad and charcuterie board - and all were delicious; for the main course we all chose the short ribs and again, they were very tasty. I would highly recommend dining at Marti's for brunch and/or dinner!
There was a little misunderstanding with our drink order. But, everything was very good. The waitress and manager were very nice.
Big Surprise. Lovely little restaurant for pre-theatre meal. Great service. Beautiful view.
