Birthday celebration! I had the lamb (oso buco) excellent and my husband had jederschnitzel also excellent. the blue martini was perfect.
I’ll start by saying we’ve been coming to KW for around 20 years and over that time we’ve sampled just about every restaurant here. We found Martin’s some years back and it is the only restaurant we come to each and every trip (2-4 times a year).
The entire staff are some of the friendliest and most attentive I’ve experienced anywhere. The chef and kitchen crew amazingly talented, making every plate a culinary work of art for your taste buds. And I must add the martinis second to none!
There’s something very special about being recognized by staff in the hospitality/f&b industry, our regular server Patrycia originally remembered us from one of our early visits. You just don’t find that anymore yet combine it with all the other perfections achieved and you have a recipe for success that needs to be shouted from the rooftops and shared with the masses.
I could go on and on about their very extensive menu, instead I’ll share that while they specialize in seafood and steak there are selections for everyone that you just won’t find at any other eatery in KW. Salads, appetizers, entrees and desserts, all sure to please and exceed any expectation.
Do yourself the pleasure of putting Martin’s on your trip’s must do list, it is the service and culinary experience you deserve to treat yourself to.
One of Duval classic gems! Amazing location, decor, menu, bar, and of course excellent service. You must try it all on the menu but my favorite is the grouper Dijon, so good!
Food was not our favorite. Most dishes have a German twist. Do not get the ribeye. Fish dishes were nice and fresh ordered blackened and they were barely cooked.
Excellent well prepared German cuisine, very hard to find in America - not your typical tourist interpretation of German fare, Martin’s delivers contemporary style dishes. The veal schnitzel was lightly panniered, and a very generous portion. Seafood looked and smelled fantastic. Server, drinks, and ambiance were all excellent. Highly recommend.
Great experience. Greeted right at the hostess station immediately serviced. It was delish! Thanks
Great menu and excellent service. Drinks are excellent with great wine list. Food was outstanding.
Excellent experience.
Fabulous foods, Terrific service, and a rye manhattan like none other.
Excellent food and great service!
All in all it was a good experience. The waitress seemed a little tables to tend too, but it went rather well.
Garden setting is lovely. Dinner was very good. Service was very good. One of the better restaurants in Key West.
Martin’s is consistently good with great service. The menu has some solid German favorites, quality steaks and a varied Tapas menu. Sit inside, streetside, the bar or patio and don’t miss the potato soup.
Wonderful ambiance, wonderful service. AND great food. We had escargot, which were a little cheesier than we'd have liked. On the other hand, t he German potato soup and lobster bisque are incredible.
Best lamb chops!
Martin's is a gem. The service was excellent and the food was over the top. Wonderful evening.
If you are looking for fine dining and a place to celebrate a special occasion this is a lovely restaurant.
Martin's offers superb food, wine, martinis, service!
Our first visit and happy with everything. Our server was excellent. He explained all the dishes to us, never rushed us and was all around professional and friendly. The menu was diversified with something to please everyone. The red cabbage was the best ever.
The decor is very pleasing and once inside Deval St seemed far away. We will return.
Great experience from beginning to end. Bartender , Magic, is awesome. Our waitress , Patricia, was fantastic as well. Many thanks !
The dog that was allowed in, non service, significantly reduced our dining experience. The dog owner did take it outside briefly when it started barking but....
Lovely restaurant, great service, fantastic food all round a lovely place.
Excellent dining experience. Friendly and knowlegable staff. Our server, Tripp, explained the nuiances of each dish with great enthasuiam. Nice wine list. Excellent martinis. Will definitely return.
Unfortunately first impressions count...2 chips out of my plate on my first course, made for a bad impression. Out of the 4 apps, the crab cake was very good. On the main course, my husband had the best meal. His Rib-eye was cooked perfectly. I had the specialty wiener schnitzel. at first I thought bland but then I got an after-taste of oil. Not the flavor you want lingering in your mouth. Our guest picked the lobster out of the pasta sauce because the sauce really had no flavor either.
Our waiter was attentive and good.
This was our first dining experience at Martins after being in Key West on many occasions over the years. We plan to make this one of our regular stops on future visits. The food, the service and the ambiance were all excellent.
I was here two years ago and the food was delicious and decided to go back with my family. The food was still great and the server Trip was fantastic. He was knowledgeable and was very attentive. Thank you!
Server wasn’t great and food was kinda eh. Fixed menus sometimes have this affect. Also the bottle of wine we selected had a dry cork, the server said “the cork breaks on all these bottles” little did she know the wine had essentially gone bad. To no fault of her own, but this trend should Have been noticed and tended to. Would try again on a regular night I guess
Valentines, engagement and anniversary
Poor start to a special evening
Everything was fine after being seated and 3 conversations with staff members over 15 minutes to get a server
After he finally came he was very good
Fine dinning, amazing wine list and cocktails, in a perfect setting right on Duval Street in the heart of old town Key west. The perfect gem of a Resturant! Highly recommended.
First time eating at Martin's. Drinks were wonderful - kudos to the bartender! All the food was delicious but felt it was a bit overpriced. Atmosphere in the back garden was very picturesque. Also loved the fact that they had a tapas menu as well.
Great food , service, and atmosphere! Don’t miss the Happy Hour.
Our waitress whose name was Patricia was excellent. We would return just to have her serve us again.
The Weiner Schnitzel is still the best we have experienced in the U.S.
Thought we would try it again...that was a mistake!!
Wonderful location on duval street and yet so peaceful inside. Great food and ambiance. Excellent service. A place for a special meal.
This is an absolute must when in Key West.
We loved the menu. Each dish was splendid - lobster bisque, yellowtail Imperial, beef Wellington, and a lovely dense chocolate torte. All perfect for us. Very pleasant surroundings. Our best dinner in Key West so far.
Lovely food and great service at a decent price for this area.
Martin’s was excellent. The food was amazing. We had filet mignon, seared tuna and a veggie plate. Our server (Brian) was excellent.
Weiner schnitzel was outstanding. Potato Soup a bit bland and too thick
I'm a local, and if you're looking for a classy happy hour spot, with a great wine list, martinis and tapas, then this is the spot. But if you're considering anything beyond that, then I recommend, you pass on Martin's.
You can chill drinks by how cold the bartender and most of the wait staff are. Once we were finally seated, our waiter turned out to be the exception. Aside from him, don't expect the staff to be very inviting. The night featured a $125 per person "Special Four Course menu", which wasn't necessarily special as it just featured a couple selections from their existing menu. The opening chef's amuse bouche was a small potato pancake with cream cheese and caviar on top. The caviar brine flavor complimented the acidity well. Then I had the crab cake appetizer, and thought it was well put together; it wasn't overloaded with bread crumbs and fried like you would find at most places. It was light and a good starter to set the stage. My entree was the beef filet. Good cut of meat, but the preparation and accompaniment wasn't anything to write home about. Bearnaise was bland and offered little on the plate other than color. The broccoli, was well, just broccoli. I ordered the Creme Brûlée for dessert and it was satisfying; hard to mess up custard with brûléed sugar on top.
Glancing at their regular menu after the fact, I could have pieced the same meal together for less than $65. My wife's meal would have come out $79. The only special menu feature was the minuscule potato pancake. There was no wine or champagne included in the $125 per person charge. There was in fact, nothing special at all about their menu.
Great meal, though I wouldn't consider an amuse bouche a 'course'. The food and presentation were very well done.
