Martin's Ratings and Reviews
Very good food and excellent wine list. We had a group of eight and our server couldn't quite keep all the orders straight, from food delivery through check delivery, but otherwise it was a lovely experience. The noise level, however, is way above "energetic." It really prevents conversation in a normal voice level.
Went to celebrate a birthday and the service was excellent....had a fantastic waiter who was very accommodating. The food selection was varied so to start I ordered the Baked Brie...my husband doesn't particularly like Brie but thought it was awesome and we ate all of it! For our entrée my husband ordered the tuna that he loved and I had the wiener schnitzel because it had been years ago in Europe that I had eaten it....let me tell you it was a plate full and delicious to the last bite! Would highly recommend eating at Martin's!
The food was good but served on cold plates. (The couple next to us had the same problem.) Service was slow, even though the restaurants didn't seem very busy. The waiter didn't seem terribly familiar with the menu and had to return twice to verify what we had ordered. The chocolate martini was strange (peculiar)--unlike any I have ever had . Overall experience--disappointing.
This was a last minute decision as we were looking for a place serving tapas nearby our hotel. Food was over priced and average. We ordered crab cakes that were not edible as they were undercooked. Our server was great which was the only thing that saved the evening.
Excellent menu with authentic choices and Chef inspired items on menu. Every detail is attended to with special attention by waiter. Upscale dining inside and covered dining is more casual by bar area. Consistently good food with excellent portions for the price. European flair decor.
New Year's Eve. Amuse bouch - pancake was awful and not enough pesto. Squash blossom with goat cheese and crab cakes were mushy and bad tasting. Main course was OK. Dessert was just ok. We did not have champagne with $125 pre fixe cost and they charged us $5 each for burned coffee.
We went for New Year's Eve prix fixe menu. Four courses was a stretch since the first course was basically a canapé. All the food was edible but generally flavorless. Very dissapointing for the cost. It was so dark outside where we were seated that we could not see our food.
Martin's generally puts up excellent food, but it's gotten a bit pricier than I remembered. One friend ordered his steak medium-well and it arrived more like medium-rare. The waiter basically disappeared after our entrees were served and the steak was mostly left uneaten. By the time the waiter stopped over, we were done eating; he agreed that the steak was not served as ordered and instead of just taking it off the check, he bought the friend a glass of wine...not the greatest way to correct an unfortunate mistake. Shrimp fettuccine is always excellent; the escargots were good, but a bit on the dry side. Martinis here are among the best in town.
My wife and I ate here on 12/10/16 for our last dinner after five nights in Key West. The service was great, the food was awesome, and the atmosphere was perfect and quiet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, quiet dinner in a place where most other places cater to a more lively crowd.
What a gem! The chef-owner knows how to please the most particular palette. Better yet, he's great with special accommodations- I'm gluten free and have to avoid fats (e.g.butter, cream) which he easily accommodated. I had the 1.5lb Lobster and my fiancée had the Surf 'N Turf. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere.
There's outdoor seating when you walk in which is more indoor/outdoor and full indoor seating; we chose the indoor seating and it was quiet, lovely and personal. The same followed with the service. From the pleasant hostess to the attentive server, they made the evening a true success. This is one spot we'll be back to visit.
It was awesome! The food, the drinks! The service! We had a lovely time over there! And the patio is dog friendly (small dogs) and they were so nice with our little puppy! Next time in key west I'll be back for sure!
We had the shrimp scallop and escargot to start! It was really good!
And after the lamb ossobuco - yellowtail Capri - duck breast... all of three outstanding!
To finish we had the mousse of the day! Which was "Belgian chocolate" AWESOME!
I had the ultimate Cosmo which is really good and a rose Wine by the glass and a Chardonnay for my mom...
I recommend once again! If you're in key west and want really good food! Go there! =)
