Martini's Ratings and Reviews
Open Table was a great way to make a reservation, but I would like to request our favorite table number, however the "app" did not allow us to do that.... As a result we were not thrilled with the table that was assigned to us.
Food was excellent, but with a four course meal, no one course should be as large as the amount of bruschetta bread that made up the second course. Two or at most three pieces would have been more appropriate than 4.
We were disappointed with a previous large family celebration dinner at the Charcoal several months ago, but thought we’d give Martinis a try for our family’s Christmas Eve dinner. The server’s very serious attitude and lack of personality presented as if she was not wanting to work. She warmed up a bit by the end of the meal, but this did make it awkward to try to enjoy a festive evening out when we felt we were a burden. My husband’s steak was excellent which he was relieved about considering many of us had very disappointing prime rib and steak dinners last time. Our kids enjoyed their fish and chips and kid’s burger although my youngest never received the cracker/fruit appetizer. My crab and shrimp spaghetti was ok. There was ample shrimp, but the spinach leaves on top with a sprinkling of crab seemed to have sat under a heat lamp as the spinach and crab were all dried out and crunchy-disappointing. We had to ask the server to remove the charge for our son’s drink as it was to be included in his kid’s meal. When I mentioned he never received the appetizer plate, she didn’t respond. Unfortunately, this is twice in a row that we’ve been disappointed with what should be an upper scale dining experience. We’ve had better meals and a more enjoyable experience at other local establishments and will find it difficult to recommend or return anytime soon. We used to love coming to the Charcoal/Martinis. It’s been disappointing.
Food and service was good. Loved the onion rings with dill dipping sauce and was surprised by the free chips and dip served early. My only disappointment was the seating. The little booths were too small to be comfortable and those of us leaving middle age behind shouldn't be take to seats on the high bar-style tables. It's not comfortable.
This time around was a huge miss. Food was not good. Pad Thai did not taste the same. Prime rib was over cooked. Waldorf salad way too much dressing. Our waitress was very unatentive...sat for 25min after meal and was not offered coffee or dessert until then.
Probably won't go back. This has been the 2nd time this year we have had a bad experience.
We had a great experience at Martini's: We were seated at an intimate booth for two, perfect as we were celebrating our anniversary. The service as attentive but not overbearing. The drinks were good, as was the food. Overall value for the price paid was outstanding. Will definitely return.
I was kind of disappointed. We always come here for birthday celebrations and it was just lacking. Charcoal group needs to better groom their servers. We felt like our server was more enthralled with getting a date from someone at the bar than to do her job and actually serve.
We'll come back, but it won't be for awhile.
Waitress was wonderful . Ordered the iron steak. Very expensive and chewy. Ordered the pad Thai with chicken. Very little meat and noodles were not cooked.
Fish and chips had little fish and lots of batter
I was disappointed because I received the gift cards for my birthday and was really looking forward to dining there.
Had a wonderful time at the establishment. The ONLY one thing I could complain about was the jalapeños. May as well have been geeen peppers. I ate them straight and they had absolutely no heat to them. The service was fantastic and the burger was AMAZING!!!
We were disappointed that we couldn't sit on the deck..only room on the outside. Next time I'll know I should request the tables we prefer. My fish taco was too spicy hot and the observant mgr (I think) noticed and gave us a dessert on the house. Thats a class restaurant!! All in all very enjoyable evening!! One of our favourite restaurants.
My husband and I have a nostalgic connection with The Charcoal Steakhouse and especially Martinis. We were delighted with the new addition of the outdoor eating area. We sat outside and received excellent service. The wine and our meals, as always, did not disappoint. We will be back.
