Martini Modern Italian Ratings and Reviews
Our group of 7, who come annually for a local event, enjoyed our appetizers, but this year, did not enjoy the entrees. Something has changed here, and not for the better.
This used to be our “can’t miss” restaurant that was a highlight of our trip, because it’s Columbus, Ohio, and let’s face it, unless you’re here for college football, there is nothing to do in Columbus, Ohio.
I had the salmon and it was excellent...my guests enjoyed the filet mignon and they spoke highly of it as well. Compliments to the chef!! Other than my drink order being messed up (and slow to get it fixed but it was fixed), the service was great. Thank you!
The staff was not well informed on a special they were running this month. The Near North Bourbon Trail Passport. Our waitress struggled at times to be upbeat. She may have just worked a long shift. Gave her the benefit of the doubt and still tipped well. Expected better overall from a Cameron Mitchell restaurant.
We have made reservations for 8:15 pm on Saturday night. We arrived on time, and the hostess told us that we must wait for 20 minutes for our table. We typically make reservations for that very reason - to not wait for a table. There was no calls or texts to let us know that they do not have our table ready. We left Martini’s and dined down the street at Hyde Park, where, after few table sittings maneuvers from the host, we were seated immediately. About 45 minutes later, we receive a text from Martini’s that our table is ready. I replied to let them know that we honored the time, but they did not.
The following day, we received an email in regards to the “missed” reservation with suggestions that it is courteous to call the restaurant ahead and let them know that we won’t honor the reservation. We were there, they were not ready. Curtesy works both ways with more weight on the restaurant, since we are its patrons.
Best restaurant I have been to in a long time. The home made mozzarella was fantastic and we all tried a different home made pasta and none of us were disappointed. I highly recommend Martini's. I get to Columbus once a year for a conference and I am already looking forward to next year.
The evening was very busy, hence the service was a bit delayed. The server was very good. There was a significant delay between the order and meal, and even more of a delay for dessert.
Overall, the experience was positive.
The entire experience was pleasant. someone called to confirm our reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early, but was seated as quickly as possible. The wait staff was very kind and knowledgeable, with regards to the menu. The food was mouth-watering good.
Was pleasantly greeted by the host. Had a reservation for 6 pm and was seated immediately. Place was busy. Had a great house salad followed by the tortellini dish. Food was fabulous. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. A great dining experience. We will be back.Highly recommend Martini's.
Honestly I was very disappointed with the entire experience. The upper level of the restaurant was understaffed, which led to the poor customer service. One waiter and two runners were manning the entire area. We waited to be greeted, get drinks, did not receive bread, the food was slightly cold, and we could not get our bill and subsequently check out. I had to get up with the bill and find someone to cash us out as no one was coming. This is very disappointing from a Cameron Mitchell restaurant and even more so considering it was our anniversary and meant to be a wonderful experience. I will not be dining here again.
We went to Martini's to sample the Italian inspired menu. My fiance and I are having Cameron Mitchell cater our wedding reception, and were looking for menu ideas and inspiration. The service was phenomenal, and the food was amazing as well. My only complaint was that is was rather crowded and quite noisy--however we could hear our table conversation just fine so it wasn't a big deal--I just wouldn't call it an "intimate" setting. We did go on a Friday night though...so I'm sure that was part of it.
Highly recommend the butternut squash ravioli. It's incredible.
As always, Martini was absolutely delicious. Their service and their food do not disappoint. Everything we had was scrumptious and our server was attentive, funny, and helpful. We LOVE going to Cameron Mitchell restaurants.
Great happy hour! Cocktails and appetizers are outstanding.
Entrees were both very good and at the same time not that great. My wife had the meatball special. I had veal piccata (which was a special order replacing veal for the chicken and much appreciated). Everything was delicious but not hot enough. My last few bites of my veal were actually cold. My wife noted the same with her meatballs.
We sat in the bar area and bar service was exemplary. Kitchen service not so good. Be forewarned!
Have eaten at Martini modern several times and they never fail to impress. Excellent food with rich distinct flavors. Enjoyed their sausage pasta this time that had a very pleasant spicy kick with a proper Italian sausage taste. Excellent preperartion of the sausage so that it was ground into small bites that evenly distributed them selves throughout the dish with out being too fine like taco meat.
The antipasto was good as usual with a presentation of good meats and cheeses. The mozzarella was fresh and light in tast. The prosciutto was also very nice with a proper thin cut and very fresh tender and very tasty. The fresh bread and dipping pesto sauce and oil great compliment to the dinner.
Great service as usual and a got us all the food quickly as they knew we were heading to the Jackets game after dinner. Highly recommended
