Martini Modern Italian Ratings and Reviews
We had an excellent experience with our waiter Brian. Our party was four and two of them were stuck in traffic and he was most gracious about waiting for them to come 20 minutes after our reservation time. The food choices for restaurant week were superior to any of the restaurants we looked at on the list. The food execution was wonderful. Everything that we ordered was fantastic delicious temperature hot. The drinks were very nice, One of the wines was spoiled and Brian took it off of the bill. This is the first time we have been to this restaurant in several years and we will certainly go back again and again. It was a great experience. We would highly recommend it.
Impeccable service. Perfect from the time you enter to the time you leave.
Some places have good food and ok service., but Martini Modern Italian excels in all categories. The food is beautifully presented.
My "go to" restaurant for almost any occasion, and competes with the best restaurants across the country.
This was our third or fourth time to Martinis. This time was for our daughters 12th birthday. We had Josida(sp) as our waitress. She was really good, and a real person, not fake. They comped my daughters Tiramisu, and put a candle on it, it was a nice touch.
Their short rib, scallops, and Short North Tea are some very good options. As well as their fresh mozzarella, and Tuna Crudo.
The food was great, the hostesses were very sweet, the only part of the dinner we didn’t like was the waitress. She was rude to us right from the start and 1. Did not introduce herself, (i asked halfway through the evening and it’s Mary Beth) 2. When we tried to get her opinion on wines she was very condescending. She told my boyfriend “not to fill up on bread” which I believe was suppose to be a joke but actually just came across very passive aggressive. The resturaunt was also busy but she left us sitting at the table with our wine finished and waiting for her to take the check for 10 minutes. She basically just was pretty rude the entire time and almost ruined the night.
Forgot how good Martinis is. We’ve been here over the 21years since it opened and it’s consistently delicious. They’ve changed their menu over the years but it’s still great. My daughter and I shared the scallops which were cooked perfectly and the butternut squash tortelloni which was amazing. The wine is a little overpriced but the cocktails were reasonable. Will definitely come back.
We always enjoy our visits to Martini, and Friday night was no exception! Because of the snow storm, it was much quieter than usual but we had a great time. The food was spectacular as usual (Chef Shawn sent out the Octopus appetizer with eggplant caponata- phenomenal!!) as were the drinks. Tequila is my liquor of choice, so special thanks to our server who recommended it and bartender who made it - the Blackberry Basil Smash was perfect. It always makes us feel extra special when something off-menu is created for us! Thank you again for a wonderful night out!
My friends and I ate at Martini before heading to the theater. We came early to have plenty of time to enjoy our meal before the show.
Our server was excellent and the food was timed well. She also just came occasionally to ask how we were doing but didn't hound us.
The food was excellent and comforting as the weather was chilly.
I have been here numerous times and always enjoy the ambience.
Martini's is our favorite spot. We have always had excellent service and cannot say enough about the food. We have visited all areas of the menu and have been very pleased. My favorite has been the filet which I think is the best in the city. A recent special was a sliced filet with balsamic reduction and mushrooms. I added a couple of seared scallops and a superb surf and turf was there for a birthday. They are always willing to customize dishes and the wine selection is top notch.I can't say enough about the hostesses who are always warm and friendly and seem to recognize and remember many of the clientele.(Mimi unfortunately is the only name I know).
The staff was friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable. Our waiter was John R and he was sassy, fun, and invested in our enjoyment. He made dinner the highlight of our evening.
The feature was a butter poached steak and it was out of this world amazing! John paired wine for each of us and made sure we were all satisfied with our choices. It was a night to remember for sure!!!
Food is always amazing. The noise level became really challenging as the meal went on, even though we were in the back room. This was a business group, so that was disappointing as we had topics to address. Joey was our server - excellent. At one point, however, a woman approached our table and began chatting us up without identifying herself as an employee of Martini. Awkward pauses, etc. before we finally figured it out. Very odd. I'm still not sure what her position was. She came by twice. Overall, my clients loved the experience, especially the food.
I recently ate at Martini's with my family, and it was an extreme disappointment. We ordered the calamari, and the batter was flavorless, and it was nearly soggy in texture. I ordered the Sausage Campanella, and it appeared as if the ingredients had been put in a food processor and served in a soup of olive oil. My husband ordered the New York Strip special, and it was served with overcooked gnocchi and was swimming in butter. Our daughters ordered the Pennette all Vodka, and the pasta was not served al dente and was not in proportion to the sauce. It is my hope that the restaurant will improve its standards, because Martini's is in a prominent location that surely draws many people from out of town, and this is not representative of Columbus's vibrant, creative food scene.
We had a great evening dining here. The menu had something for everyone from our pickiest eater to the foodie in the group. Everyone left happily satisfied. We had great service and the food was delicious. We also enjoyed several martinis and cocktails. I highly recommend the chocolate martini to finish your meal.
