Martine Cafe has numerous in house catering options from small private groups to full corporate events from the casual social cocktail party to a prix fixe menu.
View Private Dining DetailsIt was a great location for a very special evening. Two friends from high school met each other for the first time after 25 years.
Had a great experience, the gingerbread was fabulous! Brandon, our server was terrific.
We had a group of six for dinner prior to an Eccles show on a Thursday. Our dishes all came our at different times and several items were nearly inedible. I was disappointed because I love Martine for lunch and I wanted to share it with friends prior to Hamilton.
Another great evening at Martine....Carlos was a most attentive and knowledgeable waiter-always anticipated our needs and supplied them....we love the food at Martine--the Fried Brussel Sprouts are divine, the fish perfectly underdone, and the ambiance just right. We come almost every time we attend the Eccles with Season Tickets. Great Restaurant!!!!
We dined for the first time here for our anniversary. It was recommended to us by a friend. I had the salmon and it was amazing. The best parts were the desserts.
Before my trip to Salt Lake City, I searched the Internet for restaurants. I am so glad that I found Martine Café. It's a quiet and cozy place where one can relax and converse.
Went for our Anniversary. It was a slow night so we had amazing service and the atmosphere was calm and easy to chat. Great place to fall in love with your soul mate all over again.
My steak was perfect. The salmon was excellent. The Gingerbread desert was to die for.
Outstanding shaved Brussels sprouts salad and mussels! Second dining experience at this venue and both were superb!
I've been going to Martine for a decade and have always liked it, but the food is really off the charts good at this point. I know there have been a couple chef changes over the last 10 years. All I can say is please don't change this chef! I will be back over and over and over. So yum.
Oh, and I'll just say that the quantity of food that you get for the price has significantly increased since 10 years ago. If you haven't been in awhile, I highly suggest revisiting this beautiful, old restaurant.
Hidden gem!
Great service and food. Chef made an amazing vegan meal
For my daughter.
We had a tickets to an event and were rushed on time. Your server Katherine was very accommodating. The food was all delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
I did not have a good experience. Though the service was attentive, the chocolate dessert heavenly, the wine good, and martinis beyond compare, everything else was disappointment. I must confess that the food looked like, tasted like, and was of the quality of cafeteria food.
I got to the restaurant at 8:45 pm on a Saturday night. The twin dining rooms, which were darkly paneled and dimly lit, were nearly empty. I ordered the beef ribeye. I was startled that what arrived was a plain round slab of meat, nearly as large as the plate on which is was served, smothered in a thick sauce au poivre, which looked as though it had been simply ladled on. I had asked that the meat be cooked medium rare, but it was served well done. It was tough and of poor quality. Except for the time and hassle involved, I would have sent it back to the kitchen and chanced another entree. The meat portion did leave room for a portion of green beans, which were watery and tasteless, and a skimpy portion of potatoes au gratin, which were overdone. I also ordered a small plate of roasted brussel sprouts with parmesan cheese, but the cheese overwhelmed the sprouts.
All in all, I could not understand why my experience was so more disappointing than that of the many of the many other patrons who rated it so highly, and regretted my choice to go there.
We enjoyed our first visit. The staff did an amazing job while not being in our space. Food items were as expected and very good. We will be returning. Being very near Eccles theater north door is an extra plus.
Love the atmosphere.
Again, Not impressed with the small plates.
Needs culinary improvements.
Great dessert!! Friendly staff. The food was good but a bit salty on this particular night, not in past visits though. Will return.
We've been regulars for many years, and love the atmosphere. However, the food hasn't been as good. What I had thought in the past as a "one off" experience has continued - so over salted to make one think they are trying to compete with the Great Salt Lake. Sadly this may be our last visit.
The main flavor was salt - way too much salt; disappointing as we liked this restaurant the one other time we ate there.
This place was pretty good, nothing like amazing about it but it was a fun and different place to try for our girls night out. The drinks were strong, which we love, the food was just ok though. The dessert we got tasted like medicine instead of cherry sauce. But the vibe and ambience was awesome. Maybe more of a appetizer and drink spot. Although they forgot to bring our appetizer we ordered until after our food was delivered... which was roasted brussel sprouts and they were way too salty!!
Interesting food choices
Martine Cafe has long been our favorite restaurant in SLC. We enjoyed the Pris fixe menu last Saturday. The fish and chicken entrees were perfectly prepared, and the cherry pie was splendid. The location is convenient for pre- and post- events, as well as to shopping at City Creek. The service is generally attentive and professional. We are rarely displeased with meals at Martine.
Food was amazing as always. I had a 20oz. steak they had on special. It was really delicious. Service was great. Food was great. Perfect for a special occasion.
Martine Cafe is a wonderful experience. We went on Valentine's day--I love that I could reserve seating through open table 10 days in advance! The food was simply spectacular and so unique--nothing like this in Utah County where we live. It's a little more costly but well worth it. Highly recommend
Martine is one of our favorite places. Friendly and has a NYC feel to it.
I should’ve known Valentines menu would’ve been double or triple the normal menu… Besides that was a nice place.
We've been going here for years, but I think this will be the last time. The culinary scene has caught up with Martine and there are a number of better restaurants in this class now. I was especially disappointed in the set menu for Valentines day, as we had chosen it because both our first and second choice restaurants had set menus, and we wanted the flexibility to order what we wanted. Both the other restaurants clearly displayed the set menu/valentines day "special" via both Open Table and their websites. Martine did not. The main course (rib eye) was both under cooked (came rare when ordered medium rare) and of about the quality I could pick up on sale at a local grocery store (thin cut, lots of fatty pieces). The ambiance is still fine, as was our service. However, for the price there are better options in Salt Lake for a high end meal.
We were rushed through our meal. Even when they brought the mains and I said we weren't quite ready they still dropped them. Food wasn't as good as I remember but that was probably tainted by the service. A Spanish inspired restaurant shouldn't try to turn and burn a four course meal in an hour. Also our wine had gone bad... It's not that we didn't like it, it was just bad and had clearly been open for far too long. We were still charged for it.
Martine’s has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Salt Lake. The ambiance is soft, quiet and romantic and the food has never disappointed. The service is always great wether it’s been Katherine in the past or with Carlos recently. The Valentines menu was awesome and the caramel gingerbread dessert is now my favorite.
Our meals were delicious and the service excellent! A hidden gen in Salt Lake!
To start, fresh wonderful cocktails. We had apps and small plates. The gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had. Brussels Sprouts equal in their greatness! Overall! We will go back the next time we have a reason to be down town!
The pork tenderloin with lentils is fantastic
Had a great time. The service was fabulous. They waiter was able to recommend a tasty wine to go with our meal.
Has become our favorite Salt Lake restaurant. Great food at very modest prices. We have had Katherine as our waitress several times and she is awesome. Great ambiance and ideal for a pre theatre meal or any special occasion.
Monica was a great server.
We're never disappointed at Martine. We were there last for New Year's eve dinner. As usual the food was great and the service impeccable. Martine is our favorite restaurant in the greater Salt Lake Area.
We absolutely LOVED our waiter, firstly, and the cocktails were spectacular. Our entrees were interesting, delicious and perfect quantity. It is a GREAT place for a dinner before the ballet or a show at Eccles. Highly recommend...!!!!
I have wanted to eat here for years and so wanted to love it, but it was disappointing. Brussels sprouts were awesome, but other tapas just so so — and we left hungry free getting several things. Bread or paiea to help fill you up would have been appreciated. On the positive side, the house drink was delicious.
Perfection
Food was excellent and service unbeatable. The atmosphere was so relaxed,we didn't want to leave, but had tickets to the Nutcracker. We will return.
Food was amazing, service impeccable. Went there for anniversary, staff did not rush, when we were ready for next course, it came at the right time. Lamb and hummus was savory, goat cheese asparagus and potatoe bisque was light and almost tart, good balance of flavors. Charcuterie board had black cherry, roasted almonds, nice variety of cheeses. Roasted Brussels sprouts were best I gave ever had, for $6! If they seasoned asphalt shingles this good you would eat every bite. Mushroom toast was a subtle blend of honey, firm lush mushrooms. Lemon dessert was the perfect finish.
