BEST CHOWDER IN NEW ENGLAND - FULL FISH HOUSE & MORE MENU!! - Copper and mahogany grace our nautically chic dining room creating a casual-fine dining seafood-pub atmosphere. Fresh, local when available seafood, pasture raised steaks, all-natural chicken, craft cocktails, martinis and of course the best award winning chowder in the country are waiting for your visit to our beautiful island. Entertain yourself in our large, comfortable bar and enjoy an authentic Martha's Vineyard experience while being catered to by the most attentive staff on Island. Welcome to the Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company! If parties are going to be more than 5 minutes late in July and August, please text 508-696-3000 to let us know, otherwise there is a chance we will need to give your table away but you'll be next in line.     2 of four meals were excellent. The other two were not . Our biggest issue though was an incredibly loud group who were yelling and carrying on to the point it hurt our ears. For a pricey restaurant the behavior of this large group was not appropriate and ruined the ambiance. We did bring it up to the waiter but he said he could not do anything about it.

    My Mom, sister and I dined at the Chowder House last night, early visitor season. After 4+ hours of travel we were hungry and hankering for lobster (and chowder)- this place did not disappoint. Our server was wonderful and the food delicious!! We were so full (portions are large) we had to order our desserts to go. It was what we needed!

    Crowds have cleared out but the quality of the food and ambience remains great. The staff and other diners give this place that welcoming feel.

    We always enjoy MV Chowder house but the fries and the calamari were way, way too salty. I wish I had sent them back. Next time I will know to mention that.

    Great clam chowder, should have listened to him and come back for the lobster roll. The other place around the corner was not as great.
