Reminded my wife and I of the neighborhood restaurants we used to eat at back on the east coast where we grew up. Definitely will return
Great food. Great staff. Wonderful time and looking forward to trying more things on the menu. If you go....go hungry.
This is precisely what a neighborhood restaurant should feel like!
Depends on what you order. App. Sausage and peppers very good. My friends order, stuffed gnocci with alfredo sauce and grilled chicken, amazing and good portion for the price. My meal. Lemon chicken, bland and very small for the price. Chicken could have been browned a little more. Instead of a side of mostaccoli, it would have been better if the chicken sat on top of the pasta with the lemon sauce. The side of mostaccoli kind of contradicted the lemon sauce
We chose this restaurant due to the good reviews, free valet parking and being close to the United Center. Staff was all very nice, including the manager (or owner?) who checked with each table to make sure they were enjoying their meal.
They brought out bread as soon as we got there and took our drink orders. They have a variety of beers, mixed drinks and wine. The dinner menu had plenty of options and our meal came out quickly. Both of our entrees were excellent and we will definitely be back.
Plain ole good Italian food. Nothing fancy as far as the food goes. Just your basic eat at grammas on Sunday Italian. Friendly, homey atmosphere. You are made to feel like family.
Tried to change time for earlier reservation, they were unable to accommodate. We went in 15min prior to scheduled time and had open tables. Sent us to bar to wait for table and waited 45 min and still not seated. Hostess needs to be trained better as we inquired about the now 30 min past our reservation time delay (45 min wait with multiple tables now open), she said she was waiting for us?????? This put a damper on my mood for the dinner. I got over it and enjoyed a very delicious meal! The service at the table was exceptional!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. All around great!
Love Mart Anthony's steak and pasta dishes. Always a great meal and service and it's a hidden gem in my neighborhood!!! Love it.
We’ve been going to Mart for years and love it. It was our first time trying the pizza. It was terrific.
food was only passable, one person sent food back. not recomended
Went to a concert after dinner. Perfect little family place with great food!
Great family restaurant. Authentic Italian neighborhood restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere.
I would like to say how accommodating your staff was my wife has a severe gluten allergy and they didn't even blink when our first dish was not prepared gluten free. It is so difficult for us to eat out with her allergy, but you made us feel right at home. Our waiter was nothing short of amazing and for us to have a nice meal that was prepared gluten free means the world to us. We will be back and thank you again for accommodating this meal for my wife and I.
Great unpretentious dining. Authentic Italian, family-owned restaurant with great service. The pizza is outstanding if you like thin crust. Their reserve wine list has some good selections reasonably priced and they carry Fernet Branca, one of Italy’s best digestivos.
Loved it! Great food and service!
What a great place. Typical local Italian joint. Food was basic and phenomenal.
The gnocchi was off the hook. Melts in your mouth. Fried Calamari was good so were the baked clams. Get the Gnocchi. Chicken Parm was fantastic and huge. The ravioli special was great. Can’t wait to go back.
First time diners.
We'll be back for dinner and for pizzas
Perfect spot before heading to the United Center! Complimentary valet parking and delicious Italian food!
Exceeded expectations. Was great for Sunday dinner and lots of leftovers too
Place is the best!
Going to a Black Hawks game, running late due to traffic. Had reservations for 5 o’clock, didn’t get there till 530 . Explained we had to be out within the hour and everyone was more than accommodating. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Couldn’t ask for a better experience
This is my second time dining here. The first time I had the lobster ravioli, which was delicious. This time I had the black linguine with scallops and shrimp, and it didn’t disappoint! Delicious! My mother enjoyed her lasagne. Portions were ample. To top it off, we received red velvet cake, which was birthday cake for the owner’s son, and it complimentary from the owner! Service was great! Free street parking is always a plus. I’ll be back again.
Good food, good service. Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant.
This restaurant/bar never disappoints! Food and service are consistently great every time. It's a great place to eat before any event at the United Center.
Pre Hawks game dinner. Excellent food, great service.
Food, service and atmosphere were phenomenal. Upon walking through the door you immediately get the old school Italian restaurant feel that you are like family. Highly recommend the fried calamari, fettuccini carbonara and black linguine.
Very very good food and fairly priced.
John, Heather and Victoria were all so welcoming. This has become a go-to for me and my wife for consistent, home-cooked, reasonably priced Italian food in a classic and warm atmosphere. Grilled calamari is especially delicious. Looking forward to our next visit soon.
Staff and service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We had table of six and some had dietary restrictions, but the menu met everyone’s needs and the ordering process was seamless. Food was excellent. We’d definitely go back.
Everyone was super friendly! Neighborhood gem!
We just discovered this little gem! What a cute and authentic Italian restaurant. We had the grilled calamari, the sauteed greens, braciole, veal saltimbocca, and a delicious lemon ice cream dessert ... and, of course, red Italian wine! It was all very, very good. The staff was attentive. We will definitely be back!
This is easily the best Italian restaurant in the city. Most authentic food and a great atmosphere that makes you feel at home.
We loved this place! Went with friends who had been many times. The service was amazing! I cannot eat gluten. They had amazing homemade gluten free pasta!
I have been coming to Mart Anthony's for years. It is a super neighborhood bar and restaurant. The food is always great and this is the kind of place that if you do not see what you want on the menu, the chef will make it for you. Just ask. The wine list is very nice (but not too lengthy) with moderately priced bottles. Try it once and you will come back.
Ended up eating at the bar for convenience
Veal was excellent as was service
A neighborhood gem
Always service w a smile .. valet att in freezing weather has great attitude also
Look forward to dining here with friends and family, and afterward to returning again. Friendly and welcoming with authentic family Italian food!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Chicago!
