Very loud it’s very hard to listen to your guests on the table. Food was average would .basic things were missing for example fresh Parmesan.

My friend and I had dinner on a Wednesday night. It was advertised as bring your own wine without corkage fee IF YOU SIT AT THE BAR. Obviously there are not many seats at the bar. They did give us the allowance because we sat elsewhere but at their discretion. We did sit in the enclosed patio which is great if you like a more serene environment. We shared the sea food salad and the veal saltimbocca. The saltimbocca was ordinary and needed more sage but the salad was fantastic. I think the salad may have been on the special menu of the day. It's a nice neighborhood place for Italian food

Started with the bread - kinda stale and nothing to write home about at all. Then burrata appetizer - it was good but it's nice to spread it on something - which we were offered nothing. Had the special risotto bolognaise, daughter had lobster ravioli and other daughter had a custom pizza made. My risotto was extremely bland and just looked like goop. Lobster ravioli was good but lobster was lacking in flavor - not sure there was much in there. Pizza was just okay - it seemed wet - not from sauce - it was weird. Service was attentive and good - overall - just a big ehh - not going back

Everyone was so nice beginning to end. I have no pictures of food, but it was solid portions ~ not much left. I had lobster ravioli which was delicious. If I can go bank will get the white beans, escarole with sausage. Authentic, friendly, cozy and back patio was perfect place to end the day. Thank you!

Great time with friends! Bucatini and bolognese was amazing. Stuffed artichoke was really stuffed! And service was great!

Fantastic old school Chicago restaurant. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. Seafood salad special was beyond fresh and whitefish vesuvio was delicious. My SO had the veal parm and my son had the black linguini. We loved it all and will be back!

Mart Anthony’s was a great place! The food is really good, good wine menu and the desert was fantastic! And there is nothing like fresh pasta! I recommend the affogato for desert.

The staff is untrained. It’s a shame because the food is spot on and the atmosphere is pure Chicago neighborhood which is a delight. But the staff isn’t trained anymore. In the past, the service was on par with the food quality, but no longer. Our server was nice but trained for a breakfast diner at best. Left the menus laying on the table. I had to ask for her to please take them away. I ordered a $100 bottle of white wine at the bar prior to being seated at our table. The wine was chilled when it was opened. The bar person poured 2 glasses and corked the bottle and sat it on top the bar. It was warm in the restaurant, the doors were open to the outside. I asked if she could keep it chilled or provide an ice bucket. She said no at first then she said I can stick in the ice behind the bar which she did. I kept thinking I hope the bottle was clean as everyone will now be served that ice. When we moved to the table a bus person immediately brought an ice bucket. ??? The wine was delicious and so was the food, but the service needs work. The owner was on premise and paced the room but didn’t seem to notice menus on the table, warm white wine bottles on the bar. I will say the bus staff was perfectly trained and cleared after each course. The serving staff could use some instruction. We’ll go back. It could have been an off night.
