Graduation dinner was great! We’ll be back!
Despite reservations no choice table was offered. Service by waiter was very inattentive, bus staff tried to be helpful. Food quality and presentation ranged from good/very good to fair/poor. Overall the lack of service verging on neglect made for a unpleasant dining experience. Regulars may disagree as it appears they are favored.
You can always count on a delicious freshly prepared meal. Full service bar, Friendly attentive staff, Wonderful menu choices, A neighborhood restaurant you can count on!
I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The beet salad was amazing. 3 of us got the veal chop – we all thought it was great. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
My wife and I returned on Saturday the 9th to celebrate our anniversary. I have been coming to Marsilio's since the 1980's when it was at its original Chambersburg location. If anything, Alan and all make sure it keeps getting better. It is a handsome space, and the service is always welcoming and first rate. The food, traditional Italian, stays true to its roots while always providing specials that are new...and usually outstanding. My wife had a seafood special served in a bread bowl that was fresh and delicious. I had the lamb chops that were perfect. A side of spinach, the always fresh and perfectly dressed house salad and tartufo for dessert left us both full and satisfied. Being in Central Jersey we often over the years would go to NYC or Philadelphia on special occasions. There really is no need. Marsilio's is as good as it gets for date night, family outing, or special occasion.
I went to Marsilio's on June 5th. My boss treated me to a belated Administrative Professional day lunch. I had the Crunchy Salmon and roasted veggies, which was seasoned to perfection. The warm bread was soooo delicious. It seemed that they drizzled it with olive oil and topped it was parmesan cheese. The NY Cheesecake was rich and delicious. They changed the decor from the last time I had been there. It's absolutely beautiful and sure to impress anyone. Marsilio's is suitable for all occassions. I'll be back soon.
Food was really good. Old school menu done right. Service was adequate also. Nice selection of wine also.
All good all the time! Allen does a great job!
Ambience, food and drink excellent!
I have to say it is high on our list as an all time favorite. In fact, we take friends there and they love it. We also recommend it to people. Excellent service and wonderful "home style" Italian food.
Great meal (as always)...our favorite Italian restaurant!
Service and ambiance were excellent. We had fabulous appetizers and entrees. The bread is delicious. Nice to get a salad with our entree. We were too full to try desserts. We love it and can’t wait to go back again.
This is among the best in Ewing for Italian food. They have a fully stocked bar and the service is second to none.
Best place in town. Great service, fantastic food and really nice people.
Bread was so fresh and delicious. The scallops were amazing!
I couldn't have been happier with Marsilio's. I took my parents there for Mother's Day and we all absolutely loved it. The food was perhaps the best Italian we've ever had and the service was top notch.
We ordered three appetizers, five different entrees and two desserts and was impressed with everything we ate.
I live 50 minutes from the restaurant but will definitely be back.
We always spend out special occasions at Marsilios
Mother’s day was great at Marsilios. The service was outstanding and the food amazing.
The exterior appearance isn’t great and you have to park in back and walk around to the front entrance. However, the interior was very nice and the food was great!
We will definitely return!
We had eaten there once before and it was good! Saturday night was not good! Our appetizer order came all wrong!
We then were served dinner incorrectly as well. and not very hot! My dinner came burnt and the veal was not real veal it was a composite of I don't know what! The tiramisu was still frozen. The decaf coffee was good though!
When asked about dinner I told the waiter it was cold and burnt. He did bring me an entire meal to go but I wanted to enjoy it with my friends who drove in from New York. It was embarrassing to have such poor service and meals when we highly recommended and they drove in from NYC!
We thought the reviews noted on various platforms would lead us to having a great evening - I could not have been more wrong. It was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. My parents and brother from out of town were visiting and I had to apologize to them after the meal.
- It took more than 20 minutes to get a basket of bread on the table after being seated
- We had to flag down the waiter to order drinks, and to come over to place the meal order
- The waiter was kind and joked with the kids, but was not attentive
- After ordering we had 6 out of 7 meals put on the table and it took TWENTY ADDITIONAL MINUTES for my brother to get his food. By the time he was served, the majority of the table was done with their meal
- Poor brother - they forgot his soup when appetizers and salads were served and we were not able to hunt down the server to tell him, while we were in food purgatory, waiting for our main course
- When we mentioned to the woman cleaning up the dishes (server was gone with the wind), she offered to package the soup to go but there was no offer to discount the meal. Additionally, I was given a look like, "What the heck - you already ate so why do you want soup"
- The "special" fish was absolutely horrible. It was obviously frozen and had a very distinct bleach flavor. Both my wife and I ordered it, and we gave each other a "OMG this is bad" look when taking the first bite. We had waited so long for the meal that we simply ate around the main course. To make a comment would have kept us at the place until the next morning's breakfast we were served so slowly!
I don't normally convey negative sentiment and try to focus on the good, but this was atrocious. Only because my mom and dad and brother traveled a long distance to spend Mother's day weekend with us did I not raise the issue with the manager/owner. Sorry to say that this was a very bad experience.
We "discovered" Marsilio's Kitchen because we wanted something different that was close to the house. Turns out we were the last ones at the party. We talk about this restaurant with friends and they have been going for years. Our "new" discovery is a great place. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. We have been there twice and plan to go back many more times. It is a pleasant surprise that apparently only us were unaware of. I highly recommend it.
Just like being back in Chambersburg, fantastic food, excellent service and really friendly staff
Fabiano was attentive, friendly and has a great sense of humor! Fun evening, delicious food and great atmosphere! (But chicken and mushrooms should be back on the menu! They made it for me anyway, though!)
Fantastic night at Marsilios. From the moment we walked in we felt like regulars. I was there with my three boys and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service was just wonderful as our server Dee went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Great night and I highly recommend.
Great delicious food. Excellent service. Great experience. The Trifecta!
We always have a great meal and time here. Our waiter was funny and fantastic taking care of our every need. The food is always fantastic as well. Great selection also.
Consistent great food and service. Best veal parm anywhere. Generous portions as well. A local favorite for decades.
Service very slow, waiter sarcastic. Food was way below par.
My wife and I went to Marsillios for our 29th anniversary. Because I’m handicapped, we dined early. By the time we were done, around 6:00, the place was getting crowded. Anyway, the food was great and plentiful. My wife does not tolerate garlic and they made her meal without any garlic. Unusual for an Italian restaurant. They also found out it was our anniversary and gave us a $20 gift certificate as a gift. We definitely will go back.
The food as usual was absolutely fantastic. Truly amazing quality and flavor. No wait to be seated and always very friendly staff. The service is usually on point, however this time it was not as efficient as other visits. However, they were very busy and the team approach among the waiters and hostess was nice to witness.
The restaurant was quite busy yet the service and food quality remained high. We still feel it is a bit better when not quite as crowded but either way always a good night out.
Generally good but dinner was 90 minutes before arriving. Some dishes were less than spectacular: Marsala sauce on chicken had no taste and meatballs were solid meat and somewhat dry. Expensive also.
Excellent restaurant. Have gone there many times. NY Strip, dry aged, is the best around.
Creative menu and staff is friendly, BYOB, but they do have a bar. Modest uncorking fee if you choose to bring you own wine.
Always great, authentic Italian food (plus a lot more) at this restaurant that was a classic in Trenton's old Chambersburg and is now located a few miles away in Ewing. Service is wonderful too, with a very pleasant atmosphere and plenty of on premises parking. And I love that you get a "free" salad with your entrée, which seems to be less common these days, but very much appreciated. And it's a terrific salad too---great dressing, fresh greens and slivered parm on top. They also have several "can't decide" choices for those who want a variety in their entrée and also a "can't decide" dessert option.
Very enjoyable lunch, they were very busy but we didn't have to wait too long for our food which was wonderful. Will return when in the area.
Great night out with very good food in friendly and attractive setting
Even though the restaurant in now located in a strip mall in Ewing, it feels like you’ve stepped into a Chambersburg restaurant of old once inside. The food was fantastic. The marinara sauce on the macaroni and parmigiana dishes needs to be bottled and sold. It was terrific. The bread, the accompanying house salad were delicious. The calamari is crispy and accompanied with, yes, the delicious marinara sauce. Several of us ordered off of the Can’t Decide Menu so we all got to taste many of the dishes. All the dishes were tasty but one required salt and our table had none. Our server was nowhere to be seen for that to be corrected. We saw her again after all our plates had been cleared. The busboy who was refilling water glasses came to our table once. We are all avid water drinkers especially when drinking wine. Would’ve liked to have seen him more often. So other than the inattentive service, the food was amazing!! I will definitely go back and hope for a different server.
