Marsha Brown Ratings and Reviews
Everything about our dinner at Marsha Brown was wonderful. The food was excellent, the ambiance was unique, and our waiter Jack (who reminded us of Toby from This is Us) was attentive and delightful. We'll definitely return to this New Orleans style restaurant housed in a former church the next time we're in New Hope.
Only recommendation I have is close this place. Worst meal and experience in over 40 years of dinning out. Waited 2:30 hours after we ordered for the dinner. When food finally arrived, plates were hot, food was cold. Taste horrid. I have never left a negative review. I wanted to warn anyone considering this place to eat. My recommendation go eat somewhere else anywhere. You will get a better meal from a street vendor or a chain restaraunt. I do understand there are good places in the area. This is NOT one of them.
I had my birthday dinner at Marsha Brown, and the service was phenomenal. They decorated our table for the occasion, took our picture, and offered me a free dessert. Delicious meal (I ordered the beet salad, crab cakes, and we split the garlic mashed potatoes). The pecan pie is as authentic as it gets (this coming from a born and raised Southerner). One of my all-time favorite places to go!
Food was just ok, not as good a as previous visits. Hostess not very friendly. Filet not cooked to what i ordered or to what the other 2 people in my party ordered. Our server was very good which made it an ok experience. For the money it should be more than ok.
Special family dinner celebration for my hubby’s 50th. We loved the raw bar. Even the boys tried most of it. All the food was outstanding: crab-stuffed lobster, scallops & crab cakes. The staff made him feel special without making a cheesy clapping Happy Birthday scene - he was so thankful. The table was decorated with a special ribbon & confetti. We were offered a photo of our family to commemorate the special event - very kind & a wonderful keepsake. Rebecca, our waitress, was perfect - couldn’t ask for better.
Other than running out of turkey on Thanksgiving, there was not much wrong with this Cajun restaurant. I had 6 oysters on the half shell and probably the best jambalaya I have ever had and was tempted enough to get the oversized slice of carrot cake with vanilla ice cream. My wife and I shared the sweet potato casserole which was almost a dessert itself. My wife had a Caesar's salad, chicken breast (she rated it excellent) and a bowl of ice cream. Service was professional, friendly and attentive. The room was great, though a bit loud, and we sat under an extra large mural that took 5 months to complete. We both had glasses of wine though my wife started with a Cosmopolitan and I ended with an Irish Coffee. I will be back as they had many entrees and appetizers that intrigued me.
We celebrated a milestone birthday on Thanksgiving at Marsha Brown. Although it was very busy we waited at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was wonderful and ambience great. Later on we enjoyed being seated in the large artistic dining space upstairs. Every table was in use but it felt as though we were not crowded and noise was not an issue. We were surprised by an anonymous customer who treated everyone in the entire restaurant to a glass of sparkling wine! So generous. The food was wonderful. Our waiter was a gem and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I'd recommend this restaurant for any special occasion as its a very dramatic setting - not particularly cozy and romantic but very interesting and beautiful.
Mentioned it was my wife's birthday and asked for a nice table for two in the online reservation. Got a romantic table on the altar, and the maitre 'd and at least 3 servers wished her a happy birthday during the evening. Food was delicious and presented well. To top it off, my wife was offered a complementary dessert for her birthday. All around excellent restaurant in a beautiful and unique setting.
Great bar scene, right out of New Orleans! Friendly, knowledgeable, bar staff and lively fun spot on Saturday after Bucks County Playhouse and a 🚶🏽 in New Hope.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent wait staff wearing white shirts, black vests. We both had surf/turf-perfectly prepared. Prices-think New York.we shall be back‼️
