Cool atmosphere. Everything was great except the seating was cramped. There were tables right next to us on either side maybe only two feet away. Had very little privacy.
My wife eat at Marsha’s on special occasions such as Valentines Day or our anniversary. The food is terrific. The philly area has a dearth of cajun/creole food but this place fills the void. The old church building is both funky and welcoming. Our server, Adrian was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to us. But we came for the food and were wwqvery satisfied. The jambalaya was terrific with hunks of craw, crawfish and sausage in a deep and spicy rue (sp?). My wife had crab cakes which were crispy and not soaked in grease. Hunks of crab with very little filler seasoned to perfection. We shared crawfish risotto and oh my. This decadent dish was unbelievably delicious. Finally we ended with the bread pudding which was warm, sweet and delightful. My only complaint is that I wish marsh’s was closer to DELCO. Please keep up the great food!
We have been to Marsh Brown's on many occasions and never have been disappointed. The service is excellent and attentive. The food is superb! Pricey, but for a special occasion well worth it.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The cocktails were amazing, great wine list, potentially the best service I’ve ever had and the food was unreal. I can’t wait to go back.
Delicious as always. Our server Adrian was on point! Will return
Excellent food and service- our waiter was amazing. The restaurant itself is set in an old church and is beautiful.
Waiter disappeared between end of meal and check for 20 minutes. Bummer ending of a great meal.
Everything was perfect. Requested wine was waiting for us before we were seated. Evening couldn’t have been any better.
We had Shawn as our, waiter. He was fabulous. Great service. The man who brought the food out was amazing. He ran all night. Awesome dinner
Me and my wife love this restaurant ! Always delicious food and great service!
Valentine's Day Date night
We had Valentine's Day dinner at Marsha Brown's. The food was very good. The setting is outstanding. The service was excellent. We had a very nice time. It does get a little loud upstairs making it difficult to hear at times, but all in all, it was an outstanding experience - as it always is!
Had a fantastic time the food the service and the audience was excellent would definitely return and recommend to my friends
The New Orleans Creole fare is yummy. Former church with murals and stained glass is part of the decor. Service was excellent especially on such a big ‘dining out’ evening.
I love lobster on Valentine’s Day! Green beans side dish was wonderful.
Great dessert drinks was a nice flourish. The finish was with a single pink rose and a heart shaped chocolate which ended the night out. It was very romantic.
Celebrated Valentine's Day with dinner at Marsh Brown's. Been waiting a while to try this restaurant and they didn't disappoint. Beautiful restaurant. Made reservations and were seated well within our expectations. Food was excellent and service was great. Have to come back to try the pecan pie! It was a packed house, so it was a bit on the noisy side. Definitely will return - I have to try the entire menu.
This was the worst dining experience we've had in years. Two of our choices were inedible. The only positive was the professional waiter who served us.
My GF and I had dinner on Valentine's Day. This was her first time but I've been to MB for a work event so I was familiar with the menu and decor. Despite being fully booked, the noise level was bearable and the staff was very attentive. Maybe this was the Valentine's Day staff but still, they were prepared for it. GF liked the decor, especially the Delacroix inspired wall painting and our waiter knew the history. We both had the beet salad and lobster bisque; nicely done. GF had the crawfish etouffee and I had the eggplant Ophelia, both nicely done, and bread pudding for dessert...really good. Seems like the menu hadn't changed much since, just small tweaks to the creole theme.
Wonderful dining experience. Food was wonderful staff was pleasant service was great. Will go again. Thank you
Marsha Brown's is one of my favorite restaurants. Most importantly, the food is top notch, every bite is heavenly. The staff manage to create a sophisticated atmosphere that is also warm and welcoming; you won't want to leave!
The food and service was amazing. Would recommend the crab beignet, bbq shrimp and the bread pudding. Everything was amazing
Great ambiance - a little loud, but not overly. Tried the gumbo and while it tasted good, it was a soup...not a gumbo. Steaks were good but had been sitting too long due to the poor service and the crab cakes could use more spice. The desserts were ok, nothing great.
Not a fan of southern cooking. Definitely crabbed out by the end of meal. Too rich and heavy. I’m vegetarian with some seafood. Not much choice for me. It was very loud and we were sitting on the quiet 3rd floor. Service wasn’t outstanding either, which is odd for an all male wait staff at my table. Probably wouldn’t go back.
We took our children here to celebrate their birthdays. We had a wonderful meal and the wait staff was amazing!
It was good, but not great. I do spend a lot of time in New Orleans, so I am very hard to please when it comes to Cajun or Creole food.
The restaurant was beautiful and the service was great.
Our server, Jack, was very knowledgeable, fun and accommodating. The food was exciting and delicious and the cocktails were wonderful.
The food is outstanding. Service is friendly and not rushed. It can get loud, almost feel like you're at a bar and not a restaurant, but it didn't really take away from our experience at all.
Fantastic food and service
Overpriced for slightly above average food. Beautiful converted church. Made reservations but, still needed to wait 25 min, not terrible. Catfish appetizer contained almost no fish and over fried to a crisp. Coconut shrimp appetizer was small, after being told the shrimp were huge. Meals all came out at different times. One meal was 15 min after the others. Apparently it was dropped and the server never mentioned it. He still put it on the bill which we had removed. Spend your money elsewhere.
