Had a great meal. The tables are a little close. Will go back.
BLUE CRAB BEIGNETS, filling was over salted, left a funny taste, other than that all the other food was as expected, why 3 vs. 4 stars, service was excellent
While the wait staff was lovely and the restaurant was beautiful. It was hard to enjoy with the loud, heavily intoxicated group of 25 sitting nearby. Unfortunately this ruined what I imagine would have been a perfect night out.
Apps were great entrees were less than average will give second chance
A great re-visit to Marsha Brown's for our anniversary. Outstanding food, service, and ambiance. We love this place and now that we have moved up from Georgia to southern Delaware we plan on visiting on a regular basis.
This is a unique restaurant in unique setting. The restaurant is located in an old stone church. The dining room is in the main sanctuary with vaulted ceilings. The menu is pure NOLA. Good food. Excellent service. Great bartenders.
Everything was great but my food was cold...
One of the best meals I have ever had! I had the surf and turf and it was divine. The best part, Marsha was there herself and I got to meet her! What a special place and experience. We went for New Years Eve and they did not miss a beat. Worth the price tag. Will be making a yearly tradition.
The waiter couldn’t have been ruder. Was not accommodating. Barely came back to the table to check on us.
He was also rude to the table next to us.
We have been coming to Marsha Browns for years. This is the first time we have had a bad experience.
I understand it was NYE but with this type of restaurant it should always be an exceptional experience. You should be walking out with a smile on your face, and this time we did not.
Overall - a nice experience. The table service was excellent and ambience was fun for New Years. My only criticism is that my 11 oz filet was overcooked (medium-rare when it was ordered rare). But again - I enjoyed myself.
We enjoyed a special table with rose petals placed on it for our anniversary. The food was excellent and the service very good. Perfect for special occasions.
Our experience was wonderful. We used valet since it was raining and the gentleman was very polite. We were welcomed once inside and shown to our table within minutes. Our server was very accommodating and did not rush us along which is exactly what we looked for.
Our third visit, each time generally good, but invariably one dish detracts from the meal. in this case it was the fish Meunière, which this night was halibut, and was very overcooked. Since it was my main entree, it significantly detracted from the meal.
The place is amazing. The bread pudding is to die for.
The ambiance was wonderful. Our waiter, Mika, was phenomenal.
Was my wife’s sisters birthday they decorated the table and took her dessert off the bill. Will definitely go again.
Fantastic experience as usual. Food is done exceptionally well. This is my wife's absolute favorite place for a steak dinner.
Have returned to Marsha Browns every year for more than a decade, always great!
Always a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with consistently very good dinner offerings.
The servers are very outgoing and concerned with offering the best service and encouragement regarding food and wine choices.
Amazing meal! Never disappointed!!
Excellent food. Services is excellent as well. Never disappoints.
We celebrated my husbands 70th birthday with another couple who had never been to Marsha Browns. It was wonderful and all was superb, especially Jack, our waiter, and all the helping weight staff.
We have been there many times. Food is always good. This time was first time we ordered lamb chops. They wete very fatty not what you expect for $48.00. Was disappointed only with the lamb.
Our go-to spot for my wife’s birthday every year. Always very festive and love the jingle bell tradition. My meal was excellent, oysters sublime, salad great, steak top notch. Her crab claws and shrimp tasty, salad a little off, and halibut too dry. Service great, drinks kept flowing, but for that kind of coin you expect perfection on your plate. MB’s went 1 for 2 that night. Wish it was 2 for 2.
Amazing dining experience all around. Was in town celebrating an engagement and the staff made us feel very welcome and special, thank you for the complimentary champagne! The bar ambiance was very fun, it was clear there were a lot of regulars and folks who knew each other which I like to see. Would love to go back and just order some drinks and snacks and hang out. The dining room was breathtaking, and Tyler our server was a master. He explained the menu and the history of Marsha Brown like a pro, the side-by-side 2 top tables were unique but a welcome surprise. It managed to feel like fine dining without being stuffy, all in all wonderful.
Had been here before which is why I booked again. However this time the tiny table for two barely had enough room for our menus. So when the appetizer was rushed out before ordering our meal, there was no way to eat until our order was taken. So app just sat until after ordering. Then app plates were taken and not replaced so when bread finally came, we just ate it off the table. And when dinner came no table cleaning was done to prep for it. What an incredible lack in service compared to what Marsha’s is known for. Disappointed in overall performance from this visit.
Always worth the drive. Never had anything but an Excellent experience here.
Food was good, but not as good as last visits. Very, very loud.
This was our first visit. We were taken aback by the unique ambiance of the converted church, especially when we got upstairs to where the tables are. It’s beautiful. Our server was well-seasoned and experienced and, for the most part, made good recommendations. Only shortcoming was, after we shared an appetizer and a salad, he should have suggested splitting a main dish. Neither my wife nor I made a dent in our meal, That said food was excellent. It’s very rich and awesome but pace yourself. And no room for dessert (unfortunately). Next time we will opt for love seat seating. Very romantic. This is a definite stop for food in New Hope.
Always a good meal and Jack is always the best waiter to have.
The food and atmosphere was outstanding. Our waitress was amazing, unfortunately I do not recall her name.
We were there for the first time to celebrate my birthday. I was treated so special! The service was wonderful, Mick our waiter was extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was absolutely amazing, we will definitely visit again!
My partner and I were in New Hope for a short weekend for my birthday. After a lot of deliberation on where to go as the options were numerous, we decided Marsha's was too intriguing to pass up. Man, am I so glad we went. Every moment was special. One of the valets held the door for us as we went in. Someone offered to check our coats. Since it was the first day of the holiday season, there were little jingle bells on our table (which had like a high-backed love seat I adored). Our server, John, was kind, thoughtful, and gave us outstanding service. He took the time to take us through the whole menu and we ordered based on a few of his recommendations. The crab cheesecake appetizers was one of the best crab dishes I've ever had. The texture was perfect and so were the flavors. For dinner, I had the tournedos and my partner had the surf and turf. My steak medallions were cooked to perfection and the black peppercorn sauce wasn't too overpowering. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse. The serving was very generous and we simply couldn't finish it because of how stuffed we were. For drinks, I started with the Sazerac (so smooth with just a hint of absinthe) and my partner got the aviator (also really well balanced, spirit forward and very refreshing). We finished the evening with a glass of wine each. Overall, I can't say enough good things about our experience. Every staff member we interacted with--from the hostess who sat us to the backwaiter who watered us and brought us bread--was professional and intentional. As a first timer in New Hope, Marsha's has made it such that we'll have to return again and again and eat there each time. Thank you to all who made the evening so special!
Marsha Brown’s is our favorite place to eat in New Hope and always a must stop when we visit. The oysters are always amazing, other seafood is fresh and delicious and the creole classics are always on point - we have never had a bad meal here! I recommend requesting balcony seating as it is less crowded and really nice to sit up high in this cool old renovated church if you want a more special experience. Aside from the delicious food, the service is always great, they have valet parking, coat check and despite the upscale environment, there is no unreasonable dress code, which is good for the many tourists that frequent New Hope.
Excellent food and service.Nice place for a special occasion
It is a fun restaurant.
This was Thanksgiving dinner. That said, the restaurant was crowded, and our seating was delayed due to the crowds and large groups. Everything else was great. The turkey dinner was well prepared and the service once we were seated was spot on. We would definitely dine here at Thanksgiving again.
Loved Everything about it. Food delicious! Service outstanding! Beautiful interior of old church with stain glass windows
