Marrakesh Costa Mesa Ratings and Reviews
We went on a Thursday night for my roomate's birthday. The food and service was very good. We were disappointed the belly dancers did not perform that night though, my roomie was really looking forward to that. Should have called first to confirm if it was a dancing night.
Overall service and food was ok except the chicken kebab was undercooked.. I also put a note on my reservation that I'd like special dessert or something for my husband 50th birthday but I don't think that anyone got the message..
if I ever want to eat Moroccan food again I'd try a different place
Marrakesh is in what must be an old warehouse that has been magical transformed into a tent village! The colors and textures of the decor match those of the excellent food that was brought to our table. The servers were attentive, polite and knowledgeable. Noise volume increased significantly when the belly dancer came out; she was not in your face but certainly good for the eyes, and very professional! Very nice evening.
My wife and I go here for special occasions. When we have special company, we also bring them along. It is always fun, great food, and a top-notch dining experience. The belly dancers are fantastic and I'm sure don't get paid with they're worth. Highly recommend!
It had been many years since I had been, used to eat at the original on pch as a kid in the late 70's. Seems like some of the uniqueness is gone, brighter lights , no costumes, food was mixed with poor temp and ok. Brought some friends to share the experience and was a bit let done
When you enter Marakesh Restaurant, you have entered into Morocco without having
to fly there!! The atmosphere, the tented ceiling, the excellent and polite staff, all add
to the ambiance of the restaurant.
Prior to eating your meal, a silver bowl and pitcher are brought to the table so your
hands can be cleaned before partaking in the meal. Utensils can be provided, but on
some items, it is nice to eat in the traditional way too.
The Traditional Feast which was ordered, was truly a feast of many servings and
they were brought out at various times, allowing you to truly enjoy each presentation.
I can hardly wait to go back and enjoy a meal there again. During the week it is quieter
and very restful.
The food was outstanding. For the price, there could have been sides. The flavors blend perfectly. This is a better place for rowdy groups than for a couple on a date. There will be times you can't speak to your guests because the music will be turned up for the belly dancer. Don't be surprised when they bring you a basin to wash your hands in before your meal.
The food was good, but the service was just great. We were helped by a young man named Hisham, who helped the 10 of us, kept the hot mint tea fresh and refilled.
The thing we didn't like was the belly dancer, not a kids-friendly offering and noisy and disrupting.
