Everything we had was delicious and the service was friendly and professional. In addition to the food being terrific, it is a joyful place. Everyone in the room seemed to be happy and having a good time. Marouch has the best hummus, falafel and tabbouleh in town in my opinion.

I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times, and will definitely eat there again. I've been there when it was quiet, and been there when it was crowded and loud. It's just a really nice restaurant. Once I went there and found that nearly half the restaurant was converted into a long, long table, which was soon filled by a gigantic family celebrating the birthday of the head of the family. Eventually some young women in costumes came out and danced for him - there was music, and they all were having a really great time. So, you never know.

Met a client here for lunch. The food was excellent; I had tabouleh and falafel. We also enjoyed the fresh-squeezed lemonade and the jallab -- I hearily recommend both. The bakalva was nutty and flaky, without being overloaded with honey. Easy to get a table at lunchtime. This place is underappreciated for the quality of the food. Turned out to be a good place to meet for lunch.

Don't be put off by the strip center exterior. Inside is a haven for some of the best food around and undoubtedly the most delicious hummus we'd, collectively, ever had. Stuffed grape leaves, shawarma, and more, even down to the complimentary pickled beets, everything has us craving to return.

Have been here 4-5 times, and Marouch has consistently excellent food and warm, friendly service. Bob (the host/server with the dimples) is always so charming and professional. All dishes came out perfectly timed, and were absolutely delicious: my favorite meze are the baba ghanoush, the fattoush, and the lebanese sausage. It's typically a pretty low-key restaurant with an older, family-friendly crowd, and not always necessary to make reservations, which is nice. Our most recent visit was on a busier-than usual Saturday night so we were prepared for delays, but neither service nor quality slipped, at all. If the lot is full, parking in the area is still easy. We don't live in LA but we always go out of our way to dine at Marouch when we come to town: it's that satisfying!

The food was fresh and tasted great. The service was OK. We had to wait for the waiter to take our order and to bring the bill when we finished.

Great food, good wine, and a super fun time. Family style service -- the owner/waiter guided our choices, and the food just kept on coming out to the table. Authentic and delicious. Try to ignore the fact that the venue is in a gritty strip mall next to a 7-11. When you walk in the door, you're transported. Looking forward to going back! Great for a group.

An authentic Lebanese gem in a typical LA strip mall, Marouch has friendly service, terrific local dishes (hummus, kebabs) and a great chef. The daily fish special was perfectly prepared, flavorful and filling. Only weakness is probably the wine list -- somewhat limited. Overall, much recommended.

We ate here when we were going to a show at the Fountain Theater, a 3-minute drive away. The food was absolutely delicious - their baba ghanoush alone is worth a visit. We also loved an unusual and truly wonderful appetizer called mouhamara, with crushed walnuts and red pepper paste. Service was friendly and pretty quick, perfect for pre-theater. We are planning to come back here frequently and are so glad to have discovered it.

Marouch was wonderful! Great service, quiet place and excellent food. Came here with 7 people and we got the mezze plate for six (we were 3 vegetarians) and got the mixed grill, it was more than enough food, we took plenty home. Highly recommend Marouch!

Don't be filled by its location at a strip mall adjacent to a 7-11. The food here is fantastic and the service is outstanding. I made reservations for a party of 7 on a Saturday night and our table was ready for us when we walked in. Our server Bob, attended to us at all times and made sure one of the members of our party with food allergies was taken care of.
Everything we ordered was delicious - the hummus, fattoush, and fatayer along with the main dishes were all amazing. Everyone loved their food.

The waiter seemed annoyed every time we asked for something. The food okay. My husband Lebanese and we would not back this place. The location is not that nice. Is its in a strip mall next to 7-Eleven.

The food was really good. The free "appetizer" wasn't good but our meals and falafel were excellent. Good family scene. We were in LA on a girls trip so wouldn't go back here for dinner just based on the atmostphere but would come back for lunch :)

We went to Marouch after watching "City of Gold" - we found the closest restaurant on Jonathan Gold's 101 list! We were not disappointed. The service was delightful and the food memorable. Best falafel I've ever had, including dining in the Middle East. The outside was crispy, not greasy, and the inside surprisingly airy and light. My husband had the lamb shank, which he raved about.

Although we liked the food overall, we were a little surprised that this restaurant made the 101 Jonathan Gold List. It was good, but didn't get the 'wow, this is great' mark. I would frequent this restaurant if it was in the neighborhood or down the street, but traveling especially to have dinner here would not be my recommendation. The service was good, the ambience was good, the food was good. I think we were expecting more from a restaurant 'on the list.'

I worry whenever I visit spectacular restaurants that don't appear very busy. But this "neighborhood gem" has been around a long time so let's hope it won't be going anywhere soon. There are plenty of particiularly deliciously prepared familiar dishes on the menu (kababs, hummus, shawarma, etc.) but a few that are more unusual among Mediterranean locations, such as Armenian and Lebanese sausages (sugok and makanek, respectively). Particularly friendly service as well. Tucked away on Santa Monica just east of the 101, it's a perfect place for a relatively quick and delicious meal before heading into the brave the wilds of Hollywood.

We eat here when we go to the Fountain Theater. Otherwise it's too far from us --though I love the food and look forward to each visit. The wait staff is friendly and highly competent. We've never been at "prime time" so can't say about the noise level later, but if you're there early it is very quiet and great for talking. You can eat a little or a lot, veg or meat. Very flexible menu.
