Excellent, lived up to all the positive reviews we read. We had the six course tasting menu with wine pairing and it was fantastic. Very adventurous dishes, creative touches. Nice upscale chic atmosphere. Highly recommended!
The food was amazing! One of the best meals we've ever had. Our server. Eric, provided excellent service! We will be back!
Recommended by a trusted foodie friend. Brought a party of 8 in for the 14-course menu. Excellent food. Exceptional service. Cocktails were perfect too. A must!
Great atmosphere and amazing food! Omar gave us top notch service.
Best food in all of San Juan. Spotless food, service and atmosphere. Will return as soon as I come back.
Absolutely the most AMAZING meal I have had in a long time. Everything was amazing. The dishes were unique and exquisite. If you are ever here in Puerto Rico make a reservation! You will not regret it!! Impeccable service and the whole experience is amazing.
I’ve provided a separate Google review, but this is hands down one of the best restaurants on the island. The most notable quality that makes this restaurant stand out is the chef Peter. He actually takes incredible care of his customers, comes out, provides direct samples, inquires on satiafaction, and will engage in open dialogue about what he cooks and the menu. This is exactly how top shelf restaurants should service clientiele and is what I’m used to from living in NYC. I cannot throw enough praise on him and the entire team and quality of the food and experience. Just a pleasure to dine there every time.
Peter is THE BEST!!
Exelent Food And Service Overall A+... Best exoerience i’ve had in a restaurant in PR by far.
I've been coming here for years and have consistently been wowed time and time again. At this point I've had everything in the menu so now I prefer to order the multi - course tasting dinner and just be surprised but what comes out of the kitchen. The dishes are unique, innovative, and fresh.
Incredible food and fantastic service. The staff was very friendly, offered great recommendations, excellent service and made you feel as if you were a guest in their home. The bean soup and Lobster Risotto were as delicious as everyone raves about. There is a large baritone choice for anyone. We will define back!
We had an amazing dinner four our first wedding anniversary! Our waiter Jose was fantastic and the food so different, tasty and memorable! What a great way to celebrate something so special!
The chef came out to greet each party. He genuinely loves the food he served and the country he works in. He made recommendations according to each individual’s preferences. He was willing to make accommodations to each meal. Each course was presented beautifully. The overall experience was one to be remembered.
I chose this restaurant based on the reviews from Trip Advisor as one of the best restaurants in town. I must say that as good as the food was, the poor service ruined the dining experience. Our server Katya was polite but that will not do you any good taking more than 2.5 hours to serve us a 4 course meal. Most of the time we had to ask her to check if our next plate was ready. I must add that the chef/owner made several stops to make sure that we were ok.
This always is my go to restaurant for special occasions. It has a way of making you forget anything outside of it. Captivating!
As usual, excellent food and service. We have been at Mamalade a number of times and it has always been memorable.
Nice & quiet restaurant, friendly staff, good food and excellent selection of wine.
I have eaten at fine dining restaurants in many places across the world; This is hands down the best meal I have ever had the pleasure of eating and the chef and staff are on point. You must have the white bean soup. Delish! The wine pairings are amazing, and bring out every nuance of the dishes. This is my 2nd experience here, having first experienced Marmalade in 2010.
One of the highlights from our trip to Puerto Rico! So glad we did the tasting menu and wine pairing. Our server Lisa was fantastic and super knowledgeable about all the wines we had. Would return next time I’m in San Juan.
Excellent place & great food.
Great for paring
The white bean soup is marvellous and the lobster rissoto too.
Katia was an excellent host! Good recommendations and timely service. Food and wine selection were great, wife's birthday dinner exceeded expectations.
Excellent service as always
It was our first experience with a course menu (we tried the 4 course). Everything was delightful; the food was brought course by course in a very nice presentation. Our server was very helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations. Even the vegan dishes were amazing! The chef personally came to our table to ask how everything was and we wound up having a wonderful conversation for at least 15 minutes. Definitely would come back
The food, wine and service were all impeccable. We went for 5 courses with wine pairing. Highly recommend. Each dish was delicious and unique. The two of us shared so go to try 10 dishes in one meal. The portions are perfect and was happily full by the end (not uncomfortably). Our server was excellent with great wine knowledge. Really elevated the experience. It was also a 3 hour dining experience and they were not trying to rush us at all. So make this your entire evening and enjoy!
Excellent, one of the best restaurant in PR. The white bean soup is awesome. Great dessert.
I went to this restaurant with high expectations. Family and friends recommended Marmalade so we had to try it. When we entered the restaurant the first thing that we notice is the decoration. The place is nicely decorated with elegant tables, chairs and sofas, and also great ambiance and decor. Our waitress Kathia, was very nice. She took the time to explain the menu and the different options we could choose from. Before we went to the restaurant, we had already decided to have the tasting menu format of 3 with wine pairing. Out waitress explain that the 3 course menu portions were big and she recommended the 5 course menu because the portions were smaller and we could have more variations of the chefs cuisine, so we went with the 5 course menu. First course we had red snapper ceviche and tomato salad. Both were good and the wines paired perfectly. Second course was the white bean soup serve in a expresso cup. It was silky with rich flavor. Third course, foie gras with blackberry sauce paired with malbec port and “spaghetti and meatballs”. The foie gras was excellent with the port. The “spaghetti and meatballs” was squash with lentil covered in sunflower seeds. The “spaghetti” was heavy on salt, so I had to change my plate for the gnocchi with short ribs, which were excellent. At this point at was kind of full. The portions are generous and with every course you have a glass of wine, so consider this if you plan to have the 5 course menu. The fourth course, we ordered the pork belly with scallops and the filet tenderloin. The pork and scallops were good and paired well with the wine. The filet was cut in thin slices, I personally don’t like this approach. The meat was tender but it lack taste. For dessert we had the creme brûlée and a special for the night with merengue, ice cream and passion fruit sauce. The latter was excellent but the brûlée texture was “eggy”, not creamy and with very little flavor. Overall, I wouldn’t visit again.
One of the best restaurants i have ever been to in Puerto Rico. It was superb.
The best restaurant in San Juan, amazing food, superb service from knowledgeable employees. Good price for this kind of service.
Another outstanding meal at Marmalade. Server Eric also is outstanding. Best restaurant on the island.
Great restaurant great chef amazing price considering the quality of the food
Friendly and open chef, delicious fine dining, gorgeous facility. High end!
Compliments to Chef Peter Schintler for a wonderful meal. As a vegetarian, I never imagined having such a beautifully prepared meal at such an outstanding restaurant. The Chef went above and beyond my expectations! My friend, who is not a vegetarian, had the Chef's recommendations as well for our 4 course meal and she agreed it was the best meal of her life. Whenever we visit PR again, we will be sure to stop in for more of the luxurious and perfect experience. Definitely recommend wine pairing as well.
Everything about Marmalade was amazing!
All I can say it was the best dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. Fantastic food, I’d definitely do the 3,4 course meal and share with the others in your party, even better service, an ABSOLUTE A++, will definitely be coming back from Brooklyn, NY to dine here again.
Marmalade is always an amazing meal!! Thank you to Chef Peter and our waitress Christina for a wonderful experience this past weekend! We truly enjoyed all of the dishes and the wine pairings were wonderful too. Our most favorite dish is always the tiny white bean soup and we also loved the duck, cauliflower, heirloom tomato, and sea bass. We will be back on our next trip to PR!!
Lovely restaurant. We had the 5 course tasting menu and let our waiter pick our food for us. The owner personally greeted each table and told us about the specials. Should have a Michellin Star (if the michellin people ever visited Puerto Rico)
Our experience at Marmalade was outstanding. Our waitress Cristina provided us with unforgettable service. I was undecisive of what dessert to choose, and Cristina gave us all the dessert options on the menu at not additional cost. The chef/ owner greeted everyone at their tables, which made everyone feel welcome. This is hands down the best restaurant I visited in PR. Everything we had from the drinks, to the food, to the service was absolutely amazing.
Extremely creative, inventive dishes that were deliciously mouth-watering and left you curious of the ingredients. Get there very hungry because you will leave very full, but also very content. It is pricey, but it’s totally worth it!
The food was extraordinary! But the bar is overpriced two Zacapa rum cocktails cost the equivalent to two bottles of Zacapa. I have been in restaurants like Santaella that has worldwide recognized bartenders and the price for the same drink never have been so costly. A bit disappointed with that but the rest was excellent as always.
