Marlowe's Ratings and Reviews
This place is very handy and convenient. It has nice views of mall and people going by. The menu had variety of options. The service is impeccable. The food is good but could be a little better. Parking is easy neary by. If you go early it is quiet but does get noisy as it gets later. Good happy hour options. The place has good set up and seating options with old school décor and feel. The crowd is a mix of young and business. It does have inside outside option too. I enjoyed the experience and would go back.
worst restaurant experience I had in 34 years; glass of wine took 35 minutes to arrive; the plain, room temp Wonder-bread took 45 mins; DINNER ORDER NEVER ARRIVED AFTER 1 HOUR 10 MINUTES, server and mgr gave us lame excuses about being busy - when others arriving after us finished their dinner - before ours ever arrived. Had to walk out because we were going to a show next door, They seated more people than they could serve - and we had a miserable time, could not eat dinner for another 2 hours! DO NOT GO TO MARLOWE'S!!!!
Dined here with a friend during at a conference. It is very close to the Sheraton Hotel. The food was overall very good although the toast/cheese on French onion soup was very tough and unable to be cut with a spoon. The steak salad was good and the steak cooked as ordered (medium rare).
Never go there again...Service was horrible. It took forever to get our food. When the waiter would stop at the table, he kept making excuses for the kitchen. Finally got the food and it was cold. Two people at the table had to send their entree back for being raw. Food lacked flavor and seasoning. And it's way over priced for what you get. I can get a better meal at half the price at Outback.
Definitely not landmark quality. The food was just average and it was empty even for lunch. My food was not well seasoned and not even well-dressed. I would only eat there if there were no other options, fortunately there are plenty other options in Colorado so I did not eat there again for the remainder of my visit.
We went for a birthday. Ordered the "special" 2 oz Porterhouse - medium rare - had chef julien it - we shared. Excellent quality of the meat as well as execution. Have the Blackberry Old Fashioned at the bar first whilst waiting for table. Staff excellent. We will be back.
It seemed like the wait staff was spread too thin. I have food allergies and while most restaurants are very careful, I didn't get this feeling here. The waiter was unable to confirm ingredients of all my food so I could be sure I was safe. I don't recommend this restaurant if you have food allergies. I had the Uso Buco (? - pork) and it wasn't very hot, plus it was dry. Others in my party weren't wow'd, either.
Food was average. Most was not outstanding, but burger and fries were above average. Enchiladas(? ) were premade and looked dry. Breakfast skillet dry. Salad with pears, goat cheese and pecans was very good. Manager comped our desserts due to several snafus in booking. Creme brulee was mealy, not creamy but cheesecake very good. Waiter was attentive.
Nice setting with windows and dark woods, good location, fairly good service. Thankfully, they were able to seat us near a window without notice. The Butcher Special Steak was tasty but thin and the cheesecake was not New York cakey, too creamy. We split the entre, had a $37 bottle of wine and it was still $125 before tip.
Group of 9. From the specials of the night two ordered the seafood curry dish - They were a bit disappointed as it was lacking in being full flavored. I ordered the surf and turf stirfry and it was absolutely amazing. Others ordered the muscles appetizer and they were happy with it as a full dish. The steak salad looked and tasted amazing. The calamari appetizer and a brussels sprout appetizer were both very good. Good food for a good price.
We had a business dinner here and while the food was good, the service was terribly slow. The steak salad included two tiny medallions and cost $20. It was tasty and steak was cooked to my liking, but seems quite pricey. It would be tough to get me back to this place with all the other options on 16th St.
Great spot in downtown Denver! I had the chili rubbed Wagyu sirloin and my wife had the char grilled Scottish salmon. Both were fantastic! Our server appeared to be a little overworked in her section but did a fine job. The atmosphere was classy and we were treated to a small table by the windows next the the 16th Street Mall that made for some great people watching. A wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant.
