Mark's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Enjoyed our meal at marks again. This was for my birthday and as always the duck off of the gluten free menu was excellent. Connor was an excellent server and even went out of his way to get some gluten free bread for mw and brought a yummy creme brulee as a special treat free of charge for my birthday. It is always worth the drive from High Point and the quiet room makes a nice place to have a conversation.
The Chilean sea bass was outstanding. Our server Deborah was attentive but not intrusive. This is a great restaurant who doesn't seem to need loud music to entertain their guests and I appreciate that. One of the few restaurants in Greensboro that we can go to and have a conversation and not have to shout.
I had the duck and replaced sweet potato hash for the mac and cheese. Phenomenal... never had duck before but loved it. My husband had the fried chicken which was really unbelievably great. My mother-in-law had the quill and she raved about it. Aaron was our waiter and he was great and very knowledgeable we enjoyed him very much. We'll go back again for a wonderful dinner and great ambiance
The food was amazing but the wait between courses was unforgivable. We spent over two hours there. I did order a souffle for dessert (which needs a 45minute advance order) ... at the same time I ordered my salad and entre and yet I still found myself waiting for over 30minutes after I'd finished my entre for the dessert to appear. I don't know that I would try Mark's again.
Such a superb dining experience. Our first-ever dining here at Mark's Restaurant. From the time we walked in the front door we were greeted by the sweetest little hostess who took us to a great table and soon afterwards, Carlton our server was before us. He gave us great suggestions and we decided on the halibut and let me tell you that was a great choice. Everyone in the restaurant make sure that we were having a great dining experience. Mark himself, visited our table to check on us.
The restaurant atmosphere is outstanding and I do not hesitate to say that Mark's Restaurant is one of the greatest restaurants in Greensboro. We do look forward to dining there again in the near future.
Mark’s came highly recommended from friends. The food was good, but arrived lukewarm.
I was most disappointed about the service. We informed our server that we would be attending an event after dinner and need to be ready to leave before 8.
Needless to say, we had to check the status of our food as well as the check.
This class of dining in Greensboro can only be found at Marks. The food selection is unequaled and the preparation is consistently first class. You can tell that the staff is proud of the food and way that all their food is prepared. Sonya, our server, knows how to take care of her diners and does so with grace, gentleness, patience and detail. The wine selection is excellent and their cocktails are creative and delicious. The calamari appetizer was tender and sweet. Everyone raved about their food. You don't really realize how much noise is present in the majority of restaurants until you eat at Marks. You can carry on a normal conversation and hear every word your friends say. This makes dining here exclusive and special.
We are from out of town and this was our 3rd visit to Mark's over the past year. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Consistently excellent food. We especially loved the Chilean Sea Bass special - the fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. Mark's chocolate souffle for dessert (must be ordered ahead of time) has been a fun tradition for us.
What a great surprise. It has been a long time since I had dinner at MARKS. Lunch, yes. As we all know "dining" has a different meaning than "eating out." For me noise is a key element in enjoying a good meal. What a pleasure it was to enjoy a marvelously prepared meal with friends. All the elements were there; it was like being served a meal in your own home prepared and served by professionals in a way that was respectful, quiet and non intrusive. All the time you could talk with your friends in a quiet normal manner. The sea bass was extraordinary....perfectly prepared with fresh vegetables. My wife is still commenting on the pan fried free range chicken. The veal chop served was perfect as well.
This was an eye opening dining experience in Greensboro. Definitely at a higher level than the majority. Definitely has moved to the top of our list!
Placed reservations through Open Table for 9:15pm. Restaurant was listed to be open until 10pm. When we arrived the restaurant was closed and lights were off. This was a very big inconvenience since we were from out of town and took an Uber to get there. The only plus was someone did care later in the evening asking if I had a reservation and apologize for the staff closing up early.
Perfect 5* dining on a 3* budget & very memorable 50th birthday for my wonderful husband! Chef took time to talk to us & all the staff were professional & genuinely friendly . Food is definitely TOP of gourmet scale! Any food preference is catered to at the highest level of taste and quality.
The food and wine and dessert outstanding, however too many fried food dishes!!
Otherwise service slow-don't know about the white glove that was advertised?
Somewhat pricey but would be fine but waitress took our order (we were four) while standing in one place-had to call out menu item-she should have walked around to each guest!!
Then we had to reach over each other to hand the menus over-a no no!
I am picky about these little things-I have been to the places that pull out chair, place napkins on lap and the other above things-Just got off a cruise ship and every night experienced perfect service-
It was like being in a diner!!! Not really fine dining-
We used to live in Greensboro in the late 90's and went to Mark's on Wendover often. I also had business dinners there. He was #1 in Greensboro and still is! We had dinner for four and it was exceptional. We caught up with Mark our busy lives and his latest accomplishments. Wait staff was excellent. On our next trip back to NC we will be back.. He was great before and became better.
Came with friends for my husbands birthday. Food was awesome - a little slow for delivery but we enjoyed the time to sit and chat with each other. Having a gluten free menu especially with duck on it made my dining experience very special. My husband tried the beef tenderloin on this visit and was very pleased. Our friends seem to enjoy their meals as well. Chef Mark checked on our table to make sure all was good and chatted with us on our way out. We will definitely be back again soon.
Excellent experience! Was our first time and we made our reservations through open table. Made a random request for soft shell crabs and they certainly delivered! I'm also 8 months pregnant and they went above and beyond to make me a special "mock tail." Service was great, chef is amazing, and staff is super friendly! We will certainly be back.
I love the ambience so wanted to return again, so I came with two friends. I was shocked when they brought our food. I ordered the scallops with a tomato and pumpkin seed sauce and wilted spinach, cost was $17.00. My food was placed in front of me on what I would consider an appetizer sized plate. It came with ONLY 3 scallops, which shocked me for this price. The wilted spinach had no flavor at all so I had to take the sauce from the scallops and put it on the spinach to give it some flavor. My two friends got sandwiches and a side, and theirs came on plates much larger than mine and they paid almost half what I paid for my lunch. I was very disappointed with the size and cost of my meal, won't ever get that again.
