Owner & Executive Chef Mark Freedman, formally of his critically acclaimed “Mark’s on Westover”, returned to the Triad's fine dining scene with "Mark's Restautant" in June of 2011, and has since forged Greensboro's best kept culinary secret. His lavish seasonal menu-featuring a diverse spread of unique small plates, distinctly crafted Entrees, and a wonderful selection of housemade desserts-reflects his French classical training; but, where Chef Mark distinguishes himself is through his heavy use of locally sourced & produced ingredients, and 30+ years of eclectic culinary experience.

Great menu. Amazing food. Loved the view of the patio and garden area. Chef came around to check on all diners. Overall awesome experience

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent and the service was great also. We had a party of nine and all the food was served together, there was a bit of a wait but not too bad. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Had a wonderful meal at Marks! Everyone had something different, and all enjoyed their dinners. My eggplant Parmesan with pappardelle pasta was excellent. My son had the fried chicken and my husband had risotto with shrimp. We all very much enjoyed our selections! Service was good as well. We will definitely be back!

Mark’s cuisine is always excellent and provides a superb culinary experience. From Chateau Morrisette,to Mark’s on Westover to the current location we have always been extremely pleased.

The wild boar was excellent as was the brochette of tenderloin and Foie Gras. That combined with great service and a very knowledgeable waiter made for an excellent experience.

Absolutely wonderful & deliciously prepared food. My husband & I decided to have my Mother’s Day lunch here & so glad we did! My husband had the salmon & we both thought was perfectly prepared & some of best we have had. I had the crab cake Benedict & also thought was wonderful! Great Wine & cream brûlée as well! Definitely will return! KatB

Scallops salad was tender, delicious, generous portions.
Shrimp and grits had a sauce that was more like gravy than anything else—overwhelmed any taste of the shrimp.
REALLY noisy group of 8 near us—wish they could have eaten outside.
Our server was only OK—a little confused during our initial ordering, didn’t top up water, didn’t check by after food was served.
Above all, this otherwise classy place needs to tell staff to lose the term “you guys” when addressing older clientele.

Popped in to Mark's for a Mother's Day meal. Quick summary: Mom said that she felt "Very Special" after dining there. Excellent food, and prompt, courteous service. Outstanding value. I have paid twice as much for half the taste. Mark's has a good variety on their menu to meet a variety of tastes.

The steaks were well prepared and very tasty. I had the lobster stuff ravioli with shrimp. The shrimp were excellent, the ravioli were still cold in the middle. The escargot were interesting (very good) especially if your looking for something different than the usual garlic and butter. Nice atmosphere being in a converted house. Wait staff very helpful. Good specials (Wild Boar; Chilean Sea Bass).
Would definitely go there again and I would want to try the chef specials.

The service was good. I was VERY disappointed with the food. My "crispy" duck breast was rubbery and the skin was undercooked. I paid WAY too much for poorly cooked food.

Over all a solid 4.5

Best duck I have had in several years, the mix of flavors in the total presentation coupled with the marinade of the skin = creative

Service team was professional and extremely nice

Location is great...Mark did a good job with the finishout of a cool house + next time I'll try the back patio dining.


Mark was a pleasure to visit with at the end of the evening

Great date night there
Thanks to open table for my reservation

Excellent service. We really enjoyed our visit.
Food-wise, escargot tasted canned or frozen and although duck was cooked to the temperature of my liking, seared implies crispy and when duck is served skin-side down in its own juice, skin will always be soggy; such was the case with my plate.

We were seated early...quickly were asked whether we wanted drinks. Waiter was very attentive. Food was delicious...I had the lamb chops, so good. Would come here again. A little pricey, however.

Excellent meal. I had the sea bass special and my wife had the grilled shrimp with lobster ravioli, both were outstanding. Don't miss the mac and cheese with crab or the tiramisu.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover Mark's when visiting High Point Market this Spring. It is certainly a cut above your typical 'good restaurant' in Greensboro and one we will frequent when in town. It caters to a discriminating palate and has the staff to follow-through. GO!

2 out of 3 meals were good I had to send my plate back twice, they removed the charge from my check because I didn’t end up eating . Cute restaurant!!

Continues to be very good. Moderately expensive, but worth it for excellent food, choice, service, ambience. We consider Mark's to be one of the best restaurants in Greensboro. And mind you, we do have several excellent restaurants in our town.

Had a great meal as always. Food excellent, service attentive. Then got home to an email asking why we didn’t keep our reservations! Hope this gets straightened out.

Love it! Food is delicious! Attractive dining room with windows overlooking private, outside patio dining area. Can’t wait to eat outside after pollen season! I recommend Mark’s!

The calamari was the only part of meal and I would say was not good. Everything else was just okay, or average. I just don't feel the meal lived up to expectations and did not match the price level. However the handcrafted cocktails where delicious.

The restaurant is charming, with what seems to be a thoughtful menu and drink list. Our service was good, and our waiter did a good job of providing recommendations to us. However, the food was pretty underwhelming, particularly at the price point. Perhaps our expectations were heightened because of very strong reviews seen here and elsewhere, but we found our food to be little more than adequate (with the exception of a delicious curried cauliflower soup.) Specifically disappointing was the presentation of the tenderloin bruschetta small plate. Requested at medium rare, it was served at medium (or even a little more), and the crostini, rather than crispy as described, was soaked through with juices. Not that that would have been awful in and of itself, but soggy≠crispy. Finally, the cocktails were not worth their $12-14 price tags. They were good, to be sure, but for that price in this market, I'm expecting close to a life-changing experience.

We are regulars here, not only because the food is great but also because of the quality people they hire. Erin has been “our guy” every time we go. We highly recommend checking Mark’s out!
