Owner & Executive Chef Mark Freedman, formally of his critically acclaimed “Mark’s on Westover”, returned to the Triad's fine dining scene with "Mark's Restautant" in June of 2011, and has since forged Greensboro's best kept culinary secret. His lavish seasonal menu-featuring a diverse spread of unique small plates, distinctly crafted Entrees, and a wonderful selection of housemade desserts-reflects his French classical training; but, where Chef Mark distinguishes himself is through his heavy use of locally sourced & produced ingredients, and 30+ years of eclectic culinary experience.

It was finally cool enough to eat outdoors. But, the restaurant could have let citronella candles out to ward off the mosquitoes.

This is a great local gem of a restaurant.. This also a great date night restaurant with a good wine and drink selection and always a great curated menu with local ingredients and done to perfection.

Our visit to Mark's was very enjoyable. Extensive list of reasonably-priced wines. My wife had to leave some of the pasta in the grilled shrimp and lobster ravioli - just more than she could eat. My wild boar chop was a new experience, and the tomato-based sauce was perfect for what otherwise would have been a bit dry. Our server was very attentive while also being unobtrusive - excellent! The pacing of the meal was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal.

Come here 3 - 4 times a year, always great food. Service a bit slow this time, server forgot to place order for our chocolate soufflé when we were sat, which we order every time. We really missed not getting it. Hopefully next time we’ll get to enjoy it.

Mark’s is one of Greensboro’s gems. Wine list, food, service is a constant “outstanding.” It’s a restaurant to look forward to going back to.

I was hesitant to make reservations here after a bad experience with owner years ago, ( witnessed him being horrible to employees) however our go to restaurant for steak was under renovations so I thought well everyone had a bad day.
It was fabulous! Food was fabulous, Filets, veggies everything was perfect. We ordered the chocolate soufflé and that is a MUST! Well worth the wait!
We are once again fans and will become regulars again.

The beef tenderloin w/fries was fabulous. The fried chicken was mediocre, especially the accompanying mac & cheese. Next time we'll both get the steak.

Upon arrival thought I had joined the country club set - clientele appeared staid and well healed with plenty of pastels all around. Interesting ambiance - very colonial structure and finishes with some very nonconforming artwork on the walls, somehow it works and it's comfortable. Service was there when you needed it and otherwise non intrusive - that I like. We ordered a broad range of entrees and both beef and fish were excellent - prepared perfectly to our orderers. Sides were also excellent. All finished with a spectacular sour cherry tart for dessert. No complaints here...

I loved the relaxed feeling of this face. The interior was perfect and well balanced. The food was AMAZING OMG, and our server was sooooo friendly and attentive. This was my first time here and I can’t wait to go back!

I thought a private message would suffice but I received no response in 3 weeks...

Hello, I would like to share some feedback about our meal on Friday Aug 2. I was celebrating my birthday that night and just wanted to enjoy the time with my family. We had some issues with our server prioritizing his two larger parties over even glancing at our table. (He was very tan with a moustache.) I tried to catch his eye for probably 5-10 minutes with no luck and finally was able to flag down another server to order another round of drinks. When our meal arrived I was pleased with the cook on the grouper, however the mixed vegetables look like they came from a freezer bag. I can’t fathom charging $38 for a plate that had frozen vegetables on it. My husband ordered his lamb medium rare and it was a very inconsistent cook - some overdone and some that you could call medium. When the chef came out, we were given excuses about oh it got pushed to the side in the oven...NOT what we needed or cared to hear. He was leery of waiting a long time (again, since it was quite a wait for entrees) for a recook so chose to eat the lamb as it was. The flavor was great and that’s what saved the dish. Our server finally recruited help to clear the table and that server offered dessert menus but we let him know we had brought a cake. Then our server came by and also offered dessert menus...and we had to let him know again that we had brought a cake. He is the one who took it from the table in the first place.

I share this in the hopes that it is a coachable moment for you and that this was an off night for the kitchen and server. I can’t help but feel that my dad overpaid for the experience that was delivered.

My husband and I went here on a Saturday night. We were in town for work. Since we didn’t have our toddler we decided to do something fancy that evening for dinner. I am so glad we ended up here. This restaurant is amazing! The food was so good ! We got the calamari for appetizer, I got the salmon and my husband got the shrimp and lobster ravioli for our entrées and then for dessert we got the chocolate soufflé. Everything was good there was not one thing that we did not enjoy. I definitely recommend this restaurant for anybody looking for a special date night! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant We are in town.

The service was awesome in every area from the hostess, to the bartender, to the waiter. The chef came through the restaurant several times and was very warm and friendly. The craft cocktail was wonderful. The menu was diverse and had something for every taste. Both of our salads were so fresh and crisp. Our entrees were delicious. We were sorry that we did not leave room for dessert.

Service was erratic. Pate appetizer was uninspired and presentation included two small cornishons and one black olive and one kalamata olive along with badly chopped red onion. Just odd. Duck main was served at room temperature and lacking flavor was sent back. Lamb dish was good but I thought one more chop was needed as they were small. Unfortunately chef/owner Mark was out that night and it showed. Will confirm he is cooking next time.

Always one of our favorite locations and Mark's has maintained the standard. Truly a fine dining experience in European tradition. Great food and generous portions. Date night place for sure.

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent and the service was great also. We had a party of nine and all the food was served together, there was a bit of a wait but not too bad. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Had a wonderful meal at Marks! Everyone had something different, and all enjoyed their dinners. My eggplant Parmesan with pappardelle pasta was excellent. My son had the fried chicken and my husband had risotto with shrimp. We all very much enjoyed our selections! Service was good as well. We will definitely be back!

Mark’s cuisine is always excellent and provides a superb culinary experience. From Chateau Morrisette,to Mark’s on Westover to the current location we have always been extremely pleased.

The wild boar was excellent as was the brochette of tenderloin and Foie Gras. That combined with great service and a very knowledgeable waiter made for an excellent experience.

Absolutely wonderful & deliciously prepared food. My husband & I decided to have my Mother’s Day lunch here & so glad we did! My husband had the salmon & we both thought was perfectly prepared & some of best we have had. I had the crab cake Benedict & also thought was wonderful! Great Wine & cream brûlée as well!
