Mark's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Mark's has been a reliable staple for many years. In my opinion his meals are among the very best available in the Triad. Always cooked to perfection. Staff is always professional, friendly and with a desire to please. The welcoming and helpful attitude is only one thing that makes them special. Always highly recommended.
Service was slow, salmon was undercooked and raw in places but I was afraid to send it back as I feared I would starve before I got it back again.
We expected a great experience after reading about it in the newspaper but my husband’s Kobe chopped steak was overdone. It will be awhile before we go back or recommend it to others.
Where do I start. I had high hopes from all the reviews I had read. Got there and was lead to a table in the middle of the room. Asked for one in a little quieter area and was offered one by the window. It was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talking even though we were sitting less than three feet demo each other. Waitress was quick to get us water and drinks. After that it was like we didn’t exist. Another waiter came by to take our order after sitting for 20mins. Ordered Shrimp Risotto which was fair. Extreamly small portions, the Risotto was all of five bites with three shrimp about the size of a silver dollar. My date ordered a salad with scallops on the side. The salad was soaking wet and wilted, the scallops came on top of the salad after she had said twice, on the side. We were brought bread after saying we didn’t want any. Had to wait for a second glass of wine. Did I say it was loud? Wow I still can’t get over that. Any way it was a terrible experience for my date and I was horrified after telling her that the place got rave reviews. I may go back, just to give them another chance. But if it’s as loud as it was that night the next time, I’ll just turn around and walk out.
We had enjoyed Mark's on a previous visit (with coupon) but had forgotten to return until we read the review in the N & R. Deb and I split the salmon dish. She was more enthusiastic about it - I found it nothing special. We had the soup as well and both thought that it was excellent - creamy and plenty of chicken. She mentioned politely to the server that the main course could have been warmer. I appreciate the fact (mentioned by Batchelor) that conversation is easy. It's easy to hear one another. We like the ambience. We'll return. An excellent place to come with friends. One grammatical error in your stylishly produced menu. It's at the very bottom - I forget what the topic is. But you have a compound (plural) verb and a singular subject. Probably something that ddn't get caught in the composition process.
Enjoyed our meal at marks again. This was for my birthday and as always the duck off of the gluten free menu was excellent. Connor was an excellent server and even went out of his way to get some gluten free bread for mw and brought a yummy creme brulee as a special treat free of charge for my birthday. It is always worth the drive from High Point and the quiet room makes a nice place to have a conversation.
The Chilean sea bass was outstanding. Our server Deborah was attentive but not intrusive. This is a great restaurant who doesn't seem to need loud music to entertain their guests and I appreciate that. One of the few restaurants in Greensboro that we can go to and have a conversation and not have to shout.
I had the duck and replaced sweet potato hash for the mac and cheese. Phenomenal... never had duck before but loved it. My husband had the fried chicken which was really unbelievably great. My mother-in-law had the quill and she raved about it. Aaron was our waiter and he was great and very knowledgeable we enjoyed him very much. We'll go back again for a wonderful dinner and great ambiance
The food was amazing but the wait between courses was unforgivable. We spent over two hours there. I did order a souffle for dessert (which needs a 45minute advance order) ... at the same time I ordered my salad and entre and yet I still found myself waiting for over 30minutes after I'd finished my entre for the dessert to appear. I don't know that I would try Mark's again.
Such a superb dining experience. Our first-ever dining here at Mark's Restaurant. From the time we walked in the front door we were greeted by the sweetest little hostess who took us to a great table and soon afterwards, Carlton our server was before us. He gave us great suggestions and we decided on the halibut and let me tell you that was a great choice. Everyone in the restaurant make sure that we were having a great dining experience. Mark himself, visited our table to check on us.
The restaurant atmosphere is outstanding and I do not hesitate to say that Mark's Restaurant is one of the greatest restaurants in Greensboro. We do look forward to dining there again in the near future.
Mark’s came highly recommended from friends. The food was good, but arrived lukewarm.
I was most disappointed about the service. We informed our server that we would be attending an event after dinner and need to be ready to leave before 8.
Needless to say, we had to check the status of our food as well as the check.
This class of dining in Greensboro can only be found at Marks. The food selection is unequaled and the preparation is consistently first class. You can tell that the staff is proud of the food and way that all their food is prepared. Sonya, our server, knows how to take care of her diners and does so with grace, gentleness, patience and detail. The wine selection is excellent and their cocktails are creative and delicious. The calamari appetizer was tender and sweet. Everyone raved about their food. You don't really realize how much noise is present in the majority of restaurants until you eat at Marks. You can carry on a normal conversation and hear every word your friends say. This makes dining here exclusive and special.
