Mark's Prime Steak House - Ocala Ratings and Reviews
We had a birthday celebration this week and it was perfect. We sat outdoors and it was perfect weather. The Crab Bisque is amazing, the Lobster Mac and Cheese perfect and the Lyonnaise potatoes cooked in duck fat were so good. The herb crusted scallops were some of the best we have had and the grouper was generous and delicious. If you have room the desserts are not to be missed.
We made reservations for four to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. They tried to seat us between to front openings at a table with heavy traffic area surrounding us. We asked for a table out of the traffic area and was giving a nicer seating section of the main dinning area. The first table they wanted to seat us at was never used the entire time we were there. If we dine with you again we will know to ask for a quieter and out of the traffic area. The food was good
and our granddaughter enjoyed her birthday dinner. Thank you.
The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful. We did not feel rushed at all. Our server was quietly around in the background to fill our water glasses or make sure that we didn't need anything. I would highly recommend Marks as a place to have a wonderful meal.
We have frequented Marks since their opening and the steaks are always outstanding, however this time there were some issues . The Caesar salad had very little dressing, warm greens and a very heavy hand with the Parmesan cheese. I had the lobster escargot for my entree and it was bathed in Parmesan cheese that made it so salty as to being almost not edible. Then the spinach came and it was also bathed in Parmesan cheese, while the mushroom were bland with no seasoning. So I guess in the future we will settle for just the steak... Sad
I was surprised the waiter did not ask if we dined with Marks before, nor did we realize we could order a small side. We became aware of this watching a table near by order their meal. It would have been nice to be made aware of the sides as this was our first time dining at Marks.
The service was great and the steaks were fabulous. The side dishes were really good. It was, however, disappointing that the Grouper was not served the evening that we were there. Instead Sea Bass was served and was not very good. The sauce was not appetizing and the fish wasn't prepared well. I would not recommend the Sea Bass to anyone wanting a good sea food experience. The room was especially noisy which made conversation difficult. A quitter experience would have much more enjoyable.
My husband and I went there with another couple for our 34th Anniversary and it was amazing! We sat outside and the weather was perfect and so was the whole evening from the moment we sat down until we left. Our server, Jake, was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Every single item that we ordered was delicious. It's pricey but definitely worth it for a special occasion.
Food was outstanding, ambience was good, dark wood all around think the waiter was a bit new as our bill did not match the credit card receipt. Could have been a big error for him. Have been many times, food is always top shelf and perfectly cooked and presented. Bring a fat wallet!
