Service was wonderful but the meal was just ordinary. I ordered the special expecting the different ingredients to coalesce into a mouth-watering bite but the fried oysters and New York strip were disjointed when paired together.
The food was very good! My problem was that the ambience was too quiet, kind of boring. I would have had expected a live piano player, or beautiful music playing throughout the restaurant. The food is served family-style, but where is it considered okay to serve a big white plate with a black steak in the center without any garnish of any kind - presentation was awful.
Bar area was exceptionally loud. Couldn't hear the server and each other across the table.
Great greeting by valet and very inviting upon entry. Service was excellent but sadly both of our steaks (NY Strip and large filet) were slightly overcooked (ordered rare and got medium rare). The wine selection was also limited. Hence the overall 3 stars.
Everything was ok, except my wife's steak, a petit filet mignon wasn't medium rare as she ordered it, it was more medium to medium well (no pink inside). The waiter stated because she got the bleu cheese topping it was harder to get it as a medium rare. I would think the chef, or whoever cooked the steak would have known that and adjusted the time on the grill to allow for that, but at least it was tender. The sides we got were a little on the salty side, but decent. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and our kids provided us with a gift card to more than cover the cost of the meals. The restaurant provided us with a complimentary desert for our anniversary which was a nice touch. If not for the gift card, we would never have gone there. It is way overpriced for what you get. I mean $48+ for a filet that was about 2" in diameter, and $14 for a glass of wine. Other than that, the experience was good. I don't believe we will ever go back, but I'm glad we went this one time. I would not recommend this steakhouse solely because of the prices. The food is decent, but not for the price you pay for it. The one bright side was our waiter, he was excellent and very attentive.
Nice menu; delicious food. Ordered chopped salad and French onion for appetizer. Soup was warm- not hot enough to melt cheese thoroughly. Had to ask for bread service and glad we did because it was a French loaf, served hot and delicious. Server was attentive and made the birthday “ boy” feel special- ended night by bringing a chocolate dessert, with candle to make a wish.
Was excellent the first time we went and ok the second. Calamari was over cooked this time and so was the steak.
Everything was outstanding. My only comment would be the potatoes au gratin that were supposed to have jalapenos were undetectable. A selection of craft beer would be nice.
The service was excellent and very attentive.
The steak was excellent and tender cooked to perfection.
The sides are large enough to shy
The way your celling is so high it is hard with a cochlear hearing person to hear the voices go up not at the person. But we will come back.
The food at best was average, twice backed potato was borderline cold. The restaurant was very cold and uncomfortable. The waiter forgot my wife's salad and my side order of mushrooms. For the amount of money I spent to take my friends out for diner, I was not at all impressed ! I will not be returning to Mark's Prime Steak House! There are much better restaurants at a more reasonable price in our area. I'm sorry to sound so negative, but I'm just giving you my honest opinion. The food and service is just not a good value.
This was my first encounter eating at Mark's Prime Steak House and everyone in my party genuinely enjoyed their meals along with the First-Class service. Our server was extremely attentive, courteous, knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. I have eaten at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa about 10 or 11 times, but I must admit that the Filet I had at Mark's was the most tender and delicious Filet I have ever had, not to mention the sides like the Risotto. I will be eating at Mark's Prime Steak House in Ocala again.
They experience was very nice top-notch and elegant .
Food was fabulous. Waiter was excellent - great service, personality and made our night a lot of fun. Celebrating our friends anniversary and my husband’s birthday. They were very nice to provide a very tasty dessert for each couple to help celebrate these events. Steak was done perfect and was delicious.
Caesar salad was not fresh and bread wasn’t warm…
Service was great though
The food and service at Mark’s Prime are excellent! Best steaks in Ocala! Daryn is an incredible server!
Food and service were excellent. Pace of meal was also excellent. Unfortunately a bit pricy to make me a weekly diner.
Went for our 40th anniversary.
I won't go back
Service was good but the food was over cooked and over priced
No value for customer
Items are way over priced. Soup was cold, chicken was dry, Baked potatoe was slightly warm and tasteless. Can't figure out why it is so popular?
12/28 Birthday dinner. Waitress (don’t recall her name - was awesome. Steaks were great , fried lobster appetizer was amazing. Great experience- just a little pricey with drinks added. Definitely would recommend
Overall, our experience was excellent. The setting at Christmas was lovely and charming and the location was perfect. My husband was very disappointed with his NY strip and said it might have been better ordered at rare or med rare. He ordered it as medium. Pretty chewy. Unfortunately when he remembers having NY strip that was melt in your mouth delicious, this piece just didn’t come up to his standard. My meal was great as I had the petite filet. The side dishes were generous and could feed 2-3 people easily. The crusty hot bread was outstanding! Our waiter was wonderful. For the price of the steaks they should have been of the highest standard.
Food, service, atmosphere Phenomenal!
ALWAYS PERFECT ! You will not be disappointed , great everything
The steaks melt in your mouth and their sides are big enough for two people. Everything is always great even the service. You won’t be disappointed!
Best steakhouse ever! Great side dishes to go with the phenomenal steak.
Great tasting food and atmosphere. Everyone was so accommodating. Our waitress was doing everything she could to make our experience there wonderful.
Great as always. Mark’s never disappoints. Our go to.
Love our favorite table at Mark’s.
Food and wine list are superb!!
It was a wonderful dining experience. I brought friends from Wisconsin and they were very impressed.
Can’t beat it. Perfect place to impress or celebrate.
You can’t go wrong with Mark’s Prime Ocala. Outstanding in every category. What a steakhouse should be, bravo.
As always, the food, service and atmosphere were perfection! The filet was excellent as was the wedge salad. The cheesecake was Carrot Cake ..one of my favorites and it was delicious!
Always great .... steak cooked perfect... a little to warm in the restaurant for me
Reception desk organized and courteous. Waiter friendly, helpful and timely. Food absolutely delicious. Hard to get parking. Somewhere showed as a $$ price but is really $$$$ price. However the value is there. Will go back for sure.
Lobster appetizer was out of this world. Lamb chops were very juicy and tender. Ribeye was little chewy but excellent flavor.
Pros-very good ambience 2-booth in main dining room very comfortable 3-The waiter Adam was excellent.4-the complimentary dessert for our anniversary is a nice touch and very delicious.
Cons-The price on your internet menu much less than the printed menu. Not good.2-
No dress code. Men seated in the main dining room in shorts.3-New York strip very dry and no taste.3-Brandy peppercorn sauce served in metal gooseneck, something I would expect in a dinner.4- the lyonnaise potatoes very poor presentation and good but not great. I would not order this dish again. The restaurant is overrated and overpriced. I would not return or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food at Mark's is excellently prepared, served & delicious. The food portions are huge, so either bring a large appetit or be prepared to bring food home. The atmosphere is the best in Ocala. Mark's always delivers an outstanding meal & we are thankful to have them in Ocala.
