Marks’ vision for the menu is to create dishes with a hint of French influence, balanced with some Asian accents, along with good old American.
PLEASE NOTE: We accept online reservations for the main dining room only. If you would like to reserve a private dining room, please call. Patio tables are on a first-come, first-served basis.
It was my wife’s birthday. It was way to hot in the restaurant to enjoy the experience. When the air conditioning periodically came on we were all fine. However, it hardly came on. We were looking to leave as soon as we could. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience.
First time at Marks. Our table shared the brussel sprouts and the artichoke bruschetta. Tasty and satisfying. Everyone ordered something different. My scallops special was very good. The scallops were presented nicely on a pumpkin half. Other meals at our table included pasta, main dish salad and chicken lasagna. All were good. My bread pudding great with the whiskey sauce. The poundcake was dry. They did comp us for the desserts because of an issue in the kitchen. We didn’t expect that, but we appreciated the gesture. While we waited for the desserts, our waitress made sure she kept us informed as to what was happening. Our waitress, Holli, catered to our every need. We will come again. We hope to sit on the patio. Thank you for a nice evening.
Great food and service. Was a little louder than usual when we were there. Some more interesting menu options so will be coming back to try those.
Great food and ambiance as usual. Service and menu very good.
Birthday, all was top notch except that we were celebrating a BD and the server didn’t acknowledge or ask if we wanted dessert. Certainly not a complimentary dessert.
Marks Bistro has always been one of my go-to! The Mac & Cheese with embellishments is everything! Consider making a reservation for dinner with some of your favorite people at Marks!
The food and service were great, but it was so loud. It was hard to hear even just across a small table.
Absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and the service is always top notch.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. We sat out on the patio. It’s just beautiful-like a vacation without having to leave the city.
The food was salty and over cooked.
Mark's is an old favorite tucked into the heart of Dundee. The chicken lasagna and risotto are top-notch, as are the soups and salads. Great spot for lunch or dinner, no matter the occasion. Will continue to come back!
Wonderful food and service. Love the restaurant and am a regular!
Food unusually average. Wilted lettuce in salad; some menu items not available (fries); charged for food that was not served; very much an off day at Marc’s; usually very good.
Always a great experience!!!
Great food! Really enjoyed the atmosphere! Would recommend this restaurant!
Had a wonderful time at this restaurant with family. We sat outside on their patio on a beautiful evening. The lush greenery and flowers were especially lovely. A unique thing about their patio is that they had different levels and areas which made your experience seem very private. Although the food we had was pretty good, I was looking for a place that served risotto, I was disappointed that the main course was not served with a house salad or at least bread for the table. I would however suggest trying this restaurant as it was a nice dining experience.
Always great food, service and ambiance!
The noise level was just right because we sat on the patio. Otherwise, the dining room is too usually.
I am disappointed that many of my favorites are no longer on the menu ...
Always excellent and creative dishes with outstanding service.
I made a reservation and was seated right away. Food was great, staff professional. Everything appeared clean. I would recommend Mark's.
Marks is a go-to when we have family or friends in town. The atmosphere is perfect for date night, or a night out with friends. We reserved a room for a private group over the holidays and our guests loved the charming space and well-prepared food. The service is reliable and professional, atmosphere is inviting and important for us, they offer gluten free and vegetarian options even on their dessert menu.
We enjoyed a nice meal and bottle of wine in the great outdoor dining area! Service was excellent as well!
I’ve been to Marks Bistro several times, one of my favorites. Unfortunately, service was slow. My scallops and mashed potatoes were cold. I was a bit confused and asked if it was a salad type of dish. The server indicated it should be served hot. Took it to the kitchen and approximately 10 minutes later brought the same plate of food back.... warmed up with a microwave I presume...not good at all. Left it unfinished
Must have been an off day.
Average cafe. Nothing special....great service always, but the food is underwhelming...
Excellent food and ambience! Love to come here on Mondays or Tuesdays for the half price bottles of wine.
It's rare for me to give Mark's low marks, but since you asked...on this night, the server was sub-par. I had to ask his name and he was not attentive to our table. Long time in between visits and other servers brought us our food and drinks. He described the specials in french or whatever and we had no idea what they were so had to get clarity. Not a ton of personality and not the usual Mark's way that makes it all come together into a fun experience.
We love marks!!! Everytime we've been there we have not been disappointed. The drinks are always good and strong and the meal is fast and delicious!!!
We had a great experience and look forward to going back soon.
Love this place, and on a beautiful day, there is no place I love to sit than on their patio. Our server was wonderful, the food was excellent in appearance and taste, and did not take long to appear either. For a Friday night, it was impressive. My only complaint is that happy hour only lasts until 5pm and only includes wine - though the 50% of bottles under $50 or $25 off bottles over $50 is generous. My friend doesn't drink wine, so I ended up drinking a whole bottle. Oops. She might have had more than one cocktail if they had been a bit less expensive. I enjoyed it so much, as always, and intend to return.
I love Mark's for location but food and service seem to be inconsistent. I'm there once a month for a meeting and some months but food and service are amazing and other months neither are good. Yesterday was one of those times neither was too great.
Always good, whether for snacks or dinner. Interesting wines asa well as cocktails. I am so lucky that it is within walking distance for me!
Food was great. We’ve recently discovered that Mark’s does a great burger - which is what we both had. Service was great. The bourbon & blues drink I had (have had before and I loved it) was way too sweet and the martini (simple grey goose up with a twist) wasn’t very good. Vermouth!
Ambiance received a 1 because we were seated at the window. Usually no problem but there were flies! We shooed 2 away before our meal came but they returned and annoyed us throughout the meal - not to mention, it was just kind of gross.
We love Mark’s. It’s a special place for my wife and me. Our only surprise was that they never acknowledged our anniversary. The reservation portal asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we were celebrating our anniversary. No matter. We had a great time and will be back.
Holly was our server, and she was so kind and suggestive. A small table on the patio for my husband and I surrounded my what seemed like a secret garden. The beaujolais Holly recommended paired so nicely with our plates. The bruschetta was so fresh and came with soft, warm french bread. The Brussels sprouts had a nice char and were not greasy despite the bacon pieces added. Our lobster and scallop risotto was beautiful - seasoned perfectly, with a generous portion of meat. Literally, the perfect night!
Decent - not exceptional from my standpoint. I was disappointed in the vegan options available since less than described on the website. The others in my party enjoyed the food. We brought our own wine and corkage was very reasonable. The patio was lovely as always, but service was slow at first and then improved.
The service and atmosphere was great. The chicken piccata had zero flavor and only TWO capers in the whole dish.
Wonderful as always.
Overall experience was very nice
