   Had an event to attend on Valentines Day so scheduled this dinner the evening after on OpenTable. Somehow the establishment got my phone number wrong (even though it is correct in OpenTable system) ---- tried calling the wrong number twice to confirm and when I didn't pick up they cancelled me. I called to correct and they acted like it was a big deal to get me in and 15 minutes later than my original reservation. We arrived and the back room where we were placed was only half full - and still half full 2 hours later. 2 hour dinner you say? That's right - it speaks to the lack of attentive service. A good 30 minutes between appetizer and entree. Don't get me wrong - the food was fantastic - won't return because of service.

   This was our first time here, and we were really excited BUT when we got there it was a totally different menu (Valentines day menu the day after Valentines day). That was a-ok though, it forced us to try new stuff that was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! The waitress was great, she didn't talk much which was preferred since it was a date night for us but she ALWAYS made sure we had full cups. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the sound in there was good as well. The music was just loud enough to where we couldn't hear other peoples conversations, but we didn't have to speak too loud to each other. It was great and we will definitely return.

   This place was horrible it was freezing cold in the section they Sat is in an the owner instead of moving us and several other customers that were complaining told us to basically get over it. It was Valentine's day so they changed the menu to a 3 course menu that was 65.00 for a piece of fried chicken sweet potatoe puree and a salad and some disgusting Macaroons. We went for a different experience and we definitely got one. Will never go back and don't recommend anyone else does either.

   Service was as bad as I have experienced at a 'nicer' restaurant. Had reservations on Valentine's Day at 6:00 and tickets to a show at 8:00. Despite telling our waiter we had those tickets, plus ordering from a limited menu, plus the fact that the show was 1/4 block from the restaurant, we barely made it to our seats as the show was starting. And we had to forego the deserts which we had already paid for! The food was 'okay' but not exceptional and did not come near making up for the service. Waiter brought our steaks but only one steak knife. We asked for bread because our food was taking so long. 15 minutes later we get bread but no butter and no bread plates. In frustration, I walked to the bar to get my last drink after waiting 15 minutes for it to be brought to the table. And no one in management ever stopped by to check on us. And the whole thing was overpriced, by the way!!

   Had reservations for 5:45, was sat immediately. Didn’t seem to be real busy at the time. We ordered a couple drinks, waited 20 minutes until they were brought to our table. While waiting for the drinks we scanned through a set menu for the night, $65 a person, had no indication that there would be a set menu for the night when made the reservations. We thought we were going to be able to have more options before arriving to the restaurant. We ordered the lobster bisque as a starter, main course was the filet, and for desert we had the macaroons. The food was phenomenal! The filet was one of the best I’ve ever eaten before. The downside is that we had waited almost an hour and a half to eat though. Also when we finally received our food, it was wrong. When paying as much as I did for dinner that night I expected to have a better experience than what we had received.

   Small menu, but everything we ordered was amazing, from the crab hushpuppies appetizer to the salad to the meals! Our server was very attentive and friendly, the music was a great mix of songs, and the overall feel of the room was very comfortable yet intimate. We will definitely eat here again!

    Server was not knowledgeable on the menu or helpful. Food was over priced, low quality/presentation for the price point. Ordered the burger, no tomato available, they don’t carry it. Only ONE red wine by the glass option and it was not good. Glass was empty, had to track down the server to order additional cocktails. My sober friend drinks soda water with lime, she was charged $3.50 for each one! Will not return.

    Overall, it was okay. The steaks were excellent! The wild burger was very rare and had to be sent back. The menu is very limited and does not offer enough choices. The one seafood option for the evening (salmon) was not available as the restaurant had run out.

    It was pretty empty for a Wednesday night. We were really the only party there. That being said, good service and the food was tasty. Bit hard to find the front as the patio gate was open ad the signs made it look like the entrance but we eventually figure it out.

    Return visit. Not as pleasant as the previous visit. Primary problem was the highly irritating hum that was coming from some sort of machinery adjacent to the our booth/dining area. I was getting a headache and it kept coming on and off during our visit. Secondary complaint was the appetizer. We had the crab hush puppies on our prior visit and they were wonderful (we got a second order). This time they were dull, minimal flavor, like a ball of breaded corn with no crab taste. When our server asked how everything tasted, I stated the crab hush puppies were not very good and her response was "OK". Staff were responsive and friendly, my salad was delicious, but overall, annoyed an underwhelmed.

    The crab hushpuppies were delicious - we got and order and then got another order. The drinks and all of the other food was good, but not good enough to justify the price. At the table, we had the double steak burger, salmon, and pork tenderloin.

    A few years ago this place was lively and well-run. Things have slipped, badly. From having to walk into the kitchen to ask if there was a host on duty, to painfully long waits between courses, to "grilled fennel" that arrived looking like it was steamed to death, this meal was an expensive disappointment. I hope they were just having an off night, but an awful lot of things need to improve. It's a shame because this part of downtown needs all the attractions it can get.

    Every restaurant has an "off" night. Hopefully, this was the case with our experience which was slow service, slow delivery of food, slow follow-up. Example: before the entrees arrived, I ordered a glass of wine to pair with my steak. Long after the entrees arrive, the server comes by to let me know they were out of that wine and asked if I wanted another selection. By now I had only 2 or 3 bites left...so no wine for me.

    Server forgot my dates drink. Apps came quickly and were AMAZING!!!! Really looking forward to other options ordered!! 1.5 HOURS later we still did not have our salads!!!! Nor did we have our second drinks that were ordered 45 minutes prior!!!! Don’t think the order was ever put in! People coming in later than us getting food and drinks before us. Ladies that entered right behind us....finished their meal and left before we finally requested our bill for what we had consumed so we could leave and go down the street to eat dinner!!!! Was not a busy night, just normal flow!!! Many apologies from manager....not going back!!!

    We do an annual birthday dinner for my wife with our closest friends, and pick a new restaurant every year. This year we picked Marketplace. It was OK, but for the price that's not good enough. The inside of the restaurant (old theater) looks beautiful. The server was adequate, but appeared disinterested. The food was marginal, nothing really stood out other than the Indian Nachos appetizer which was delicious. We had to send one dish back as it was under-cooked. I wish I could recommend this restaurant as it's certainly a beautiful setting and building. But based on this visit, there are much better options for high-end dining in Louisville.

    Location was nice & centrally located in downtown. Service was decent. Food was just ok. Meat on the Cuban sandwich was dry & had no flavor. Tortillas on fish tacos were dry & falling apart & there was only 2 pcs of cubed fish on one of the tacos.

    Outdoor seating in the front was interrupted many times by those walking by on the street. I would suggest switching the seating up so that diners are eating in the back with the nicer tables.

    I have eaten at Marketplace 2 other times before my latest visit on 9/4/19. I found the food to be just fair. My pork was very dry and my husband's steak was also dry and over cooked. We didn't complain to our server, Kevin because we don't like to do that. Kevin was a great server, very cordial. We were disappointed for the price. Not sure we will return.

    This is an incredibly beautiful, and unfortunately, underutilized restaurant in the heart of downtown. So many empty chairs on a Saturday night. They could easily be on par in an instant with many of the nicer restaurants in Louisville with some better marketing and some tweaks to their menu.

    As out of town visitors we were looking for a memorable restaurant experience. The food was amazing! The decor modern and interesting. The waitress was attentive but not overly so. An after wedding group was located in another area of the building, but there were very few people where we were seated. The chef is an artist. The food looked beautiful and tasted fantastic! We tried the beet appetizer, I had the gnocchi, friend had salmon. The chocolate sponge cake with nutella frosting was a little on the dry side. Next time we would try the peach dessert. I thought there would be live jazz, but that is only Friday nights. We would go back again!
