Excellent choice for dinner before a show at the Palace!
It was fantastic, I had the duck , wife had the steak ... both were delicious. Great service
Food was very good, but not to the level of previous visits. Before, we have felt we received premium food at fair price. Tonight’s experience was above average food, but at very disproportionately high price. We’ve had such great service, food, and experiences over the years but I’m afraid to say we will be seriously reconsidering a return visit.
All of the staff was amazing!!! Just need to address the value.
Our server, Katheryn was excellent. She kept tabs on us and made the experience worth repeating.
Before Show Dining
We frequent the Palace and are always looking for new restaurants to try and this was no exception; however, I tried to reserve a table in the past and they go quickly so this time when I ordered my Palace tickets I made our dinner reservations at the same time and we were not disappointed. With all the construction there was a parking advisory but since we had a 5:30 dinner reservation we were able to park very close and since the restaurant is mere steps from the Palace we opted for dessert and coffee following our meal which had us at the theater in plenty of time for the 8:00 performance. When I made the reservation I stated that one of the party was vegetarian and our menu selections reflected that request. The vegetarian had a starter of roasted vegetables and a gnocchi main dish which were excellent! The meat lover of the party enjoyed the poached egg salad on smoked salmon starter followed by lamb shank main course. We shared a pear cobbler with coffee. Everything was exceptional, even the coffee. Our server was attentive and the level of conversation was very comfortable. We are already planning our next visit.
Made reservation for six on a Tuesday, only 4 showed up not an issue for them. Sat immediately (was a Tuesday) I had excellent foie gras appetizer and above average flank steak (I ordered medium probably should have ordered medium rare) and a really good Templeton cocktail. I know fly to Kentucky to drink Iowa Whiskey. Amazing bourbon list. $350 for four everyone had appetizers, salads, meal and 2 drinks.
We arrived and were promptly greeted and shown to the bar, where we enjoyed a lovely cocktail. My wife was awestruck by the host taking her by the arm to our table where the experience continued. Awesome thank you
Great service considering the last- minute rush of diners due tobMellenkamp concert.
I love the food here! Only complaint is the music was up too loud to hold a conversation which doesn't really fit with the ambiance.
It's a little pricey and I would appreciate more variety, but the service was excellent, the location is convenient, and the atmosphere and decor were great.
Pear salad and salmon was delicious. Kevin, our waiter, was attentive to our specific requests.
The service was excellent ....Our Server was Kevin ...very polite and professional ...The food was excellent ...Pork Belly, Salmon, Pork Tenderloin and Burgers were awesome and cooked to perfection . The concierges were awesome and welcoming. Great experience !!
Great for dining before any event at the Palace.
We weren’t sure what to expect with this place so far off the beaten path, but were very pleasantly surprised! They easily accommodated our group of 10 and gave us first class service. The bourbon menu was amazing and the food was fantastic. Very great choice for entertaining our customers.
A favorite place in Louisville. Great menu, service. Cider Manhattan is the best!
With a reservation, we walked in and there was no one to greet us. I walked toward the bar before someone asked us how many in the party. After some fumbling, we were placed at the nearest table, dead center of an empty restaurant. We ordered the filet and the duck. Worst food possible. $29 and $42 thrown away. It was so bad, we didn't even finish the food. The food was plated well, but tasted awful. Carrots were sour. Steak was along the lines of a bad hamburger. The bartender was the same person serving our table. Someone was pulled from the kitchen to box our (unwanted) food up. The manager, while very nice in some fashion, pushed these people to serve, rather than approaching the table himself. Service and food quality fully explains why it was dead on a Saturday night.
Great restaurant! We all enjoyed everything we ordered. I got the special which was Halibut and it was delicious! I am GF and there were plenty of options on the menu.
Duck was very raw. We Had to return it and have it re cooked which we never do. Sad because dinner wasn’t inexpensive and I had my meal get cold while I waited for my wife’s meal to be recooked. Had to ask for bread. Couldn’t order the drink we wanted because they didn’t have the ginger beer to make it (sat night???). Unfortunately it was a bad experience and we will not go back or recommend to others.
Great place for drinks and dinner in the downtown Louisville area. Looking forward to going back soon.
It was very nice!
Amazing place..one if better spots in Louisville. Must visit
Good was amazing, atmosphere and decor were great. But we waited over an hour and a half for our entrees. Made the night overall disappointing. Reservations at 730 and we didn't get home until 10. The wait staff seemed confused the whole night where food was going, they tried giving us dessert 30 mins before our entree!!! Lol
Nice Atmosphere, decent service (had to ask for bread, twice), but the food was meh considering the price.
One of the best burgers I have ever had and my husband said the scallops were wonderful
Great food and great atmosphere!
I took my wife here for a special evening and was underwhelmed to say the least. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and the cocktails we got were wonderful but the food was extremely bland (I got the pork tenderloin and my wife got salmon), the options were few, and the value of the pricing was poor. For such a special night we were both disappointed that we didn't choose a different place to go and dine.
Loved it , our waiter was great and patient with us and I am happy I got a chance to celebrate my birthday there. Thank You All for your amazing hospitality!
Even though I had a reservation we had to wAit 40 minutes to be seated. Our waitress and food was above average.
Great Food and Service, but abit pricey. Service very attentive to getting everyone served in time for show at Brown Theater.
I have a new boyfriend and we wanted to have a “proper” first date. Marketplace came to mind. The food and service were superb. We got some help with our wine selection which was a perfect choice as I was having sea bass and my boyfriend had steak. Everything was great.
Not a good night at the marketplace. There were 2 large parties that slowed down the service which I could live with but the food was not good. Beet salad had some spice in it that gave it a kick. For an entree I had the duck. The balsamic totally overwhelmed it. The bed of greens was practically uneatable.
Marketplace is always superb! We love dining here.
It was very quiet due to it being a Monday, which was great for a business dinner. The service was fantastic and the food recommendations were excellent. The Bourbon list was extensive and had several that are difficult to find. It looks like a great spot for outdoor dining as well.
Service was excellent and made the evening special. Staff is courteous and knowledgable. They went above and beyond to make this a great date night.
We had a great evening. The calamari was awesome! Overall, the restaurant was more pricey than I thought when I found it on open table and Trip Advisor. We had several young couples with us paying for themselves on a limited budget. I was looking for a medium priced, local flavored restaurant that still had some class with more atmosphere than a sports bar. It was all that but I felt bad because everyone ordered appetizers or burgers because of the price. We still had a wonderful evening though and I would cone back with my husband to explore the menu more fully.
First time there, it was a great experience.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Marketplace. It was very quiet for 8pm on a Saturday night... service was a little slow in the beginning especially given how quiet it was. Once we got a server everything was fine past that point.
The food was outstanding. Add a little more vibrant atmosphere and it would have been fantastic. I’d go back... and I’d definitely say give it a shot!
Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. Our server was so friendly and had great food recommendations. It was a fantastic date night/birthday celebration for me all thanks to Marketplace!
The service was prompt as we were going to see an event at the Palace. Each of us enjoyed a couple of drinks and then dinner which was very good. Each of us ordered separate entrees and said that they were tasty and would order again and recommend to others. Looking forward to return especially in nice weather to sit outside but for now we could enjoy the music inside and the ambiance.
