Terrible service. The hostess & server were horrible & condesending. Food used to be better. Menu needs an update. Used to love this place. Won’t go back.
small portions, slow service, fun location is all, costly for certain items, Wedge salad was small joke.
MarketBar is my go-to place, especially when I have out of town guests and need to meet someplace close to my office. The food is fresh and organic, using foods that are in season. And the epi bread from Acme is always impressive. However, while usually impeccable, service was a bit slow. I wouldn't have noticed except that I had a 7:35PM ferry to catch!
By the way, on a warm day, the outside seating is usually a happening place for people-watching. Too bad it we were here for dinner instead of lunch; it would have made a great impression on my Chicago friends to sit outside in February!
I love the Nicoise Salad. Very light. Tuna is perfectly seared.
The service was awesome
Not great service. We were inside and not on the patio area and they very much prioritized them over serving us. Very slow to get our food out and very slow to get the check.
Outdoor patio best part! Server great too
We enjoyed a lovely and relaxing breakfast on Sunday. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was spot on. It's waterfront location was ideal!! We'll be back!!
Great spot for such a restaurant- my historic reluctance for dining there has been noise level - can't hold a conversation. It was better this time. Anything location can do to mitigate extra ambient noise is a good thing
Good restaurant for weekday dinner after work. Service was laid back yet attentive, which I enjoyed. Food came out so quickly! Calamari and oysters were delicious. Hate to say it but I didn't love the creme brulee.
Best ciopinio ever
Disappointing brunch. Omelet was less than delicious with very little inside ingredients.
The food was terrific and the service was impeccable. We were on our way to a show, but didn't feel rushed. Theater was attentive, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the wine and the dishes.
Great place in the early hours of any meal. Prices are a little high but staff is super friendly and fast when they’re not swamped.
I have been to this restaurant many times. I love the vibe and the feel of MarketBar.
I have always found my food to be good, but the crab and grits dish is a don't do. They need to take it off the menu.
Atmosphere was great. Service was fast and friendly. And the food was outstanding!! Definitely a good find!
Menu has a wide variety of dishes. Love the flexibility of small plates. Good drink specials. Service was great.
Food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for mediocre food. Wait staff was very nice & accommodating but unfortunately, I doubt I will return.
The service was wonderful. Great attention to detail and customers. The food was delicious!
Saturday lunch menu was awful, the service was poor, and the entire experience was very disappointing!
Market Bar is my favorite pet-friendly, waterfront restaurant.
So disappointing! We had enjoyed dinner on the patio about a year ago, so we came back for brunch to celebrate an important birthday. We sat inside this time. It was so loud in there that we had to yell at each other to be heard. The food was mediocre and our server was very unfriendly.
We had a great experience! The staff was welcoming when we arrived and sat us promptly. The server was patient and explained everything to us, including the special. The ambiance was active but not too loud. The prices were great and there was something for everyone on the beverage and food menus. We will be back!
delightful and most excellent service! our waiter was very attentive and all the food was great. the wine was esp good a montepluciano
Delicious spicy meatballs. On a quiet evening there seemed to be a problem with the servers, we were ignored for quite a while, but once service started it was fine.
Just bad food for some reason. Usually it's better. Artichoke wasn't cooked enough to eat. Grilled Caesar salad was mushy.
Met a friend there and we perused the menu sitting outside. My server had already brought tea and was most patient and gracious as we finally decided on bouillabaisse and salad.
That bouillabaisse was fantastic! Enough for two with salad and just delicious. As good as the pumpkin flan we indulged in after.
Quiet and easy to chat and amazing people watching from under the umbrella.
Converged for outdoor Sunday brunch with three adults and a 3-Year old. Flexible menus, breakfast and lunch. Child and adults loved it. Great fun at Embarcadero, or could eat inside the SF Ferry Terminal. Some came by SF Bay Ferry from Oakland, Jack London Square, some from San Carlos via BART.
I always love to come to Marketbar, but this time I found the hostess to be unfriendly and brusque.
