As always wonderful food and excellent service. What was different this time was the accommodation to the COVID-19 situation. They had half as many tables and all of them a safe distance apart. They can't be making money serving so many fewer people but it made for a delightful--and unusually quiet--meal with the usual gracious attention. We were very grateful for the care and attention and nice to have a first-class night out after a stressful week.
As always, the staff, food, presentation and atmosphere make Market Table the place to return too.
Brunch menu not too veggie friendly. Good service, good light, good vibe.
I don't like giving 5 stars but these online surveys make it hard not to. Market Table is an outstanding restaurant. Consistently delicious. Always fabulous service down to regularly filling water glasses. Will always be a patron here!
We enjoyed our (3 people) dinner very much. Choices on the menu were good. We each had an appetizer and a main course and a bottle of wine. Food came out super hot, which I loved. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Lively place, will definitely go back again.
This was our second time to Market Table. The food was outstanding, as it was the first time. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is decidedly cozy, but a bit noisy, but everything else about the experience far outweighs that! Can't wait to go back again!
This is my favorite place for weekend brunch. The waffles, eggs, homemade biscuits and jam, yum! Always cooked to perfection, the only thing to top the food is the outstanding service, welcoming staff.
Market Table is great! The service was exceptional
I took my out of town friends and colleagues here and we had a great time. They described this as the best of NY dining, where the service is attentive but not intrusive and you can tell that everyone loves the food. The food itself was excellent, and my only small complaint is that the noise level was a touch too loud. Overall a great experience.
Our server was attentive and helpful, around just enough. Beer was cold. The short rib was outstanding. Took a flyer on the skatewing but that turned out great as well. Apple turnover dessert excellent. Price seemed right for the high quality. Will be back
Great fresh selection of food, attentive service. Booked for a later lunch at 2pm so the place was not overcrowded.
Service was so slow and totally cold. No happy silly servers. Food was very average, tiny Caesar salad, not worth the money. Wrong drinks came, no top up of water, took the drinks list away when we wanted to order drinks. Waited forever for the check at the end, then handed 2 cards over. Another long wait, I had to go and ask what the issue is. Very rudely said ‘these cards don’t work’. Two totally different cards, banks, etc. we said it must be their machine as our cards are fine with sufficient funds. They said no, it was our cards. We asked them to try again. Another 15 minutes later, I go up again and they said the manager said the cards don’t work. I asked the manager to come out and see us and again, ages later they came and said it was our cards and we needed to give a different card. We ended up having to pay all on our friends card who’s birthday it was. VERY EMBARRASSING. We went to a bar after and of course all our cards worked because there was nothing wrong with them. No one came to apologise or discuss the situation with us. It looks like a ‘cool’ spot in the W Village, but don’t be fooled. Awful service, bad ambience, boring menu, over priced, we will never go back.
I've heard so many good things about Market Table and on our first visit we were not disappointed! the food was interesting and very good. we both had fish and really appreciated the many fish options on the menu. the Brussel sprout salad was amazing and i don't even like brussel sprouts! the service was excellent. we had a cozy table by the window that was quiet and provided a little privacy even though we were in the area by the bar
Despite having a reservation, had to stand by the front door for 25 minutes before our table was available. The staff was very apathetic.
Great brunch today, perfect for catching up with old friends. Snagged a table for 3 at 11:45am Sunday, seated after a 3-minute wait. Gracious host. I had the braised short rib with Brussels sprouts, home fries, fried egg, cooked to perfection. Friends had the eggs Benedict & a tall Bloody Mary, as well as eggs with spinach & mushrooms, with good coffee. Excellent service, food came fairly quickly. Busy but didn’t feel rushed & it wasn’t noisy. Large windows let in the light, good for people-watching, too. Reasonable prices, considering the quality of the food & location. Highly recommend!
Service was extraordinarily slow. Had empty water glasses, empty wine and cocktail glasses, and very slow food service for the entirety. Had to flag down waitstaff for way too many items. The food was cooked well but inattentive service isn’t worth spending that much money for.
Went for Valentine’s Day. The food was outstanding. The service was not but still was overall a nice time.
Beautiful space - intimate without feeling crowded, with gorgeous corner windows - and a perfect choice for our Valentine’s prix-fix dinner. Oysters w/caviar and blood orange gremolata were fantastic. Char was delicious and cooked just right, scallops w/dashi and bok choy were umami-delicious. Beef loin was cooked perfectly though a little less interesting in its seasoning that all the other dishes. House-made espresso gelato was outstanding, blew us both away. Service was great and music by “Acute Inflections” jazz duo was thoroughly enjoyable without being intrusive. Dinner was a little pricey, but worth it for a special night out. Highly recommend.
The management and service was terrific. Food was delicious and the price was appropriate.
Food matches the good ambience and service!
Always solid good food and overall experience at Market Table. Love this neighborhood place.
Great place for brunch! Nice view with large windows & lots of light. Food was really good too
We come here at least once a month.
Food is good and decor is delightful. It’s a great brunch place for us. We come with toddlers and staff is always nice and accommodating.
Less than great service
Delicious everything! Most thoughtful restaurant staff you could experience. Feels like family and a whole lot of love behind the scenes!
We were a party of 7 and had a reservation. We had to wait a bit for our table. Everyone was very nice and the food was great. Music and noise level was a bit too loud for my personal taste - I could not hear all the conversations at the other end of our table. Music choices were fun though!
The most delicious food. Lovely servers and wine. Never disappoints!
This restaurant had more of an older crowd and a unique menu. While the food was good, you have to be in an particular mood for the entrees centered around meat
Going to market table is always a special treat for me and it never disappoints
Great spot in the West Village. Very comfortable for a delicious business lunch. Would recommend 1000%.
Great food - good variety on menu
A little he BIC checking in/ waiting for table
Overall a great experience and evening
Seating is pretty tight. While comfortable, if you have someone loud at the next table, which we did, it can make hearing each other difficult at a minimum and it is very annoying
It was fine, just fine. Nothing amazing but not terrible.
Excellent experience. I found this on Trip Advisor. It lived up to the outstanding reviews. Great, small place. The pork chop is killer.
Great place free champagne and free appetizers. I had the monkfish. It was just amazing.
Great ambiance and fantastic food. Food was served before cocktails though (which is not preferable in our opinion) Overall a great spot!
Top notch Food, service, and atmosphere without pretense. A wonderful experience.
