First time at this restaurant and I will definitely be back! Outstanding service!
Really right ingredients and attentive service. My date loved it on her birthday
A totally satisfying evening with outstanding creative cuisine and caring service
Terrific ambiance for meeting colleague for a business lunch. Staff recommended quieter corner, worked out nicely. Incredibly attentive service. Lovely menu and presentation of dishes. Would definitely return either for future business meal as well for a meal with friends. Great restaurant!
This was my second time at Market Table in just two weeks. It’s my new favorite restaurant. The food is yummy, the ambiance is nice and the restaurant itself is lovely.
Great location for a date or catching up with friends. Attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere. Easy to hear one another and nice decor.
We dine quite a bit in NYC and have many guests that visit us here with a desire to eat out and explore neighborhood spots. We live on teh UWS with many great options, but like to take guests beyond our back yard. Market Table is a gem - this is about or 6th or 7th visit and each has been perfection!
Market Table never disappoints. Excellent service and atmosphere and outstanding food! Always a treat to dine here!
I brought 5 friends for brunch before the Pride parade and it was perfect. the food was fantastic and the waiter, while not the most outgoing, was consistent. It was really all about the lovely atmosphere, the beautiful dining room with a lovely view of the street and the awesome food!! I will be there again. Thank you for a wonderful day!
The food was very good, but the A/C didn't work. Brutal.
Market Table is our favorite restaurant in the hood. We love that it’s just around the corner! However this time the food was very expensive and not good. We each got steak ($48) that came with cold potato salad and a very small amount of green salad (just one leaf that’s it) the steak was 60% fat and was cold. I had to have it sent back to heat up and also cook to my liking which it wasn’t at first. Waitress was awesome, friendly and quick. Food disgusting. Upsetting as it is a favorite. :(
Do not go when it's hot because their air conditioning is terrible. I sweated the entire time.
Randomly chose Market Table because my friends and I wanted to meet for lunch in the village. I'm so happy I saw this on Open Table because it's now on my top list of where to go to dine. In fact, I made a reservation to go with other friends in a couple of weeks for dinner.
Market Table is one of my "always visit" restaurants anytime I'm in New York City. This visit again reminded me why. The food is delicious, seasonal fare, showing skill and creativity from the kitchen. The wine list is carefully curated and pairs well with the cuisine. Service is friendly and knowledgable, and the tall picture windows in the dining room make for a charming West Village dining experience.
Great neighborhood restaurant, with excellent food and service
I have been here 3 x before and it was exceptional! This time- I just don’t know ????? Th restaurant was soooo hot and uncomfortable, we had a large party and drove from DC especially to eat here for a birthday celebration. It was sooo loud we couldn’t even talk. And then there was the food- way overpriced and full of salt. Did the chef change? Everyone was like what happened to this place?? There was no tase to the food at all. Usually the food here is amazing. Then the service- this guy NEVER checked back on us at all to see if everything was ok and the food took almost an hour to get to the table. Then the birthday gal was served a ginger sorbet that was half melted . I would NEVER come cack here or recommend This place to anyone. And I was one of your biggest fans :-(
Good food and service!
Phenomenal food and drinks with great service.
Fantastic seasonal food at fine pricey and a great atmosphere. Many thanks!
The food is decent and, certainly, market driven. The real problem is that it is LOUD!! and the music is just high enough to be noise, without being able to distinguish anything from it. Conversation without yelling almost impossible.
It was Father’s Day so it was unusually crowded and noisy in the main room. We sat in the outer room and could actually hear ourselves speak. Market Table has always been a favorite of ours.,.
Friendly, helpful service
Delicious food and outstanding service, as usual. The waitstaff is knowledgable and friendly, and the bartender knows what she is doing with a cocktail.
The waiter didn't come over to our table until 15-20 minutes after we arrived. We asked him for bread and he never brought it. A nice, attentive bus boy brought it immediately after asking him. Waiter did not come to our table once during the meal. I could see the lack of attention if the restaurant was busy but it wasn't. Not at all.
We reserved a table for a Sunday brunch and enjoyed delicious oysters, pork chilaquiles, eggs benedict, Cobb salad and buttermilk pancakes with bourbon syrup. Everything was delicious. I warmed up my leftover chilaquiles the next day at work and everyone who passed by my desk wanted to know what I was eating, it smelled delicious.
I was really unhappy with our main courses which made for a poor experience in my opinion. The appetizers, the soft shell crab special and the oysters were excellent. I had the branzino which I frequently order other places, and in this case the fish was small, dry, and the seasoning and flavor was really not good at all. I know there are bones in this type of fish but there was really now meat at all. The steak was also not especially good as the marinade had made the consistency of the meat a bit off. I was very disappointing with the experience- but the service and ambiance were both nice!
Loved it all except for the loud music
The food, service and vibe at Market Table are all terrific. I hadn't been there in a couple of years, but was glad to see that the food was still creative and delicious. It feels as though the noise level of the restaurant was a bit out of control, primarily because the music was loud enough that everyone in the restaurant had to speak over the music. This seems to be a trend in restaurants that I wish would stop.
Came with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. We sat for as long as we wished. The wait person was congenial and understanding. The food was well prepared and delicious.
Good consistently good food. Great place for lunch with very nice open sunny views. Need better soundproofing.
Delicious good and great service.
Worth going just for Haydn. She’s hands down the coolest ‘server’ (and person in her own right) in the universe. Her and Jess (also pretty darn cool) we’re our tag team for our brunch. What fun! My husband and I loved the organic salmon that we ordered, perfectly done and oh so flavorful; our friends had traditional brunch dishes (steak and eggs and..huevos I think) which they said were good. Ambiance is great, and a convenient spot!
Great brunch place for the family.
Food is delicious and staff is attentive and friendly.
I would definitely recommend The Market Table. The food was really great, perfectly prepared. My only issue with the place was it was a little noisy.
We were eating our appetizers when the server came over to tell us our entree was ready. We said we haven’t finished our appetizer. Then another server came over kneeled down next to me and said your meal is ready. Still I wasn’t finished with my appetizer. They brought our meals out. The cod was tasty and the pork chop milanese was tasty but half the chop was fat and 30% of It wasn’t cooked so that 20% was good. It would have been crispy if it didn’t sit around. Needless to say we will not go backward
Everything about market table—the food, service and ambience were a delight! We are there on a beautiful spring night. There were absolutely gorgeous flowers throughout the restaurant and the huge windows let in all the beautiful light so the restaurant was light and airy and then cozy as it turned dark. Our group of 4 ordered two fish dishes, the delicious crispy-skinned chicken and the lamb steak plus great appetizers (the goat salad—yum!, soft shell crab special and market salad). We shared a delicious bottle of wine and then split the lemon pound cake and waffle ice cream sandwich. Everything was delicious and our server was lovely. We’ll be back!!
We enjoyed our dishes and had a great time. The service was good as well. Thank you
Food is great. Bartender and server very nice. EXTREMELY rushed though. We sat down with a glass of wine from the bar. The server was over for our order every minute in the first five minutes. As soon as we finished our appetizers the entrees were delivered . No time to digest. Food, drinks and a bottle of wine, and out the door in under an hour. Not a good dining experience.
Great place of the beatin' path. Excellent for a business lunch.
Great food. Amazing staff
