About Market Table
Chef Mike Price and partner, Joey Campanaro, opened Market Table in the fall of 2007. Located at the corner of Carmine and Bedford Streets in the West Village, the restaurant boasts an airy dining room with exposed brick walls and large windows offering a view onto village life. The menu at Market Table is seasonal American, influenced by Mike's childhood on the family farm in Maryland coupled with years working beside great chefs. He offers nightly specials that reflect his love of creating simple dishes with big flavors.

Our private room is considered a hidden treasure among the reputable dining establishments in the village. The Mediterranean farm house tile floor, the brick walls and vaulted ceilings and cherry tones of the room set a perfect stage for us to work directly with you to customize your event.
Market Table Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately, not a good experience. The restaurant is very very loud. Main course for me was Pan Crisped Bell & Evans Chicken. It was extremely dry and tough. I never send food back, ever, but this was like biting into a big, dry, stringy, tasteless piece of overcooked meat. I asked if they could replace and they were kind enough to do so. I ordered the salmon special as they indicated it could be made quickly. The salmon smelled like burnt spoiled fish. It was an overpowering stench. Both my girlfriend and myself had a bite and both of us had that instant reaction of "what the hell did we just put in our mouth". We spit it out.
That was enough, We asked for the check and left.
$120 for that meal.
My second time back and I'll definitely come again! Bear and Shea were particularly lovely hosts, providing attentive and welcoming service throughout our delicious meal. Highly recommend all the fish dishes (we had all three), the corn, watermelon + beet salad, and so much more....Thanks again to Market for a great meal and atmosphere.
I LOVE this restaurant! I travel to NYC twice a year for bridal market and we always come to Market Table on the last night to celebrate. The food is delicious, creative and never disappoints. The seasonal cocktails are incredible! The appetizer menu is always fun and season appropriate - if you see Quinoa Hushpuppies on the menu - ORDER THEM!! Salads are always on point. Entrees are lacking in vegetarian options but they will always pull together something amazing that is not published - all the other entrees are delicious. Save room for dessert!!!
As usual food was very good and service (Emma/Emily) was excellent.
My out of town guests were running late and hostess could not have been more accommodations and friendly. No attitude or snark which is unfortunately present at many other restaurants these days.
My one note - where was the Ketel One?
We were visiting from Melbourne Australia and I had read a review in my local weekend Travel Section about Market Table. It lived up to the review with fantastic food and wine. We spent a couple of hours over lunch and it was well worth it. Best to book as it's gets busy even at lunchtime. Sheila
This was our first time at Market Table and it was amazing! We've been to one of their sister restaurants 'The Clam' which is one of our favorites and this place feels very similar in the quiet cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was amazing and so much fun, the food was phenomenal and the cocktails were delicious. I had the southern hospitality cocktail which the restaurant had a special going on for where half the proceeds go to the Houston food bank for Harvey victims. My dad had the pasta appetizer with broccoli pesto and it was fabulous and I had the corn and shrimp risotto which was incredibly savory, I couldn't get enough. Then for entrees we had the swordfish and the pork tenderloin and both were equally as excellent. I don't have a negative word to say about Market Table, everything was great and far exceeded expectations. We picked up a card for their second sister restaurant 'The Little Owl' and plan to try it out soon. Thank you!
Market Table is located on a relatively active street corner and has large windows on two sides. Our table was in the corner of the windows and afforded a great setting for people watching. The food was good if somewhat unexpected (ham flannel hash = ham and beet hash). Tasty, but better as a garnish than as an entree I think, though I must admit the egg that topped the hash was superb. There's plenty of more conventional choices (burgers, club sandwiches, waffles and pancakes) for the less adventurous members of your party.
