We started off with the calamari and artichoke appetizer, however it was mostly calamari and very few artichokes . I had the Bell and Evans chicken but was surprised when an airline breast arrived. The chicken was tasty and accompanied by mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband asked the waiter about the organic salmon. The waiter said it was farmed raised. My husband asked the manager about the salmon and he said it was line caught. The fact is there is no organic salmon. There seems to be some confusion in the kitchen about this. My husband ordered the hanger steak which was tasty but undercooked. All in all an overpriced, average dining experience.
We come to Market Table twice a year to celebrate Bridal Market. It is our go to place! The food is always amazing, service always on point and the ambiance is always warm and inviting. I look forward to this dinner every season! Thank you!
Signature chicken dish was a bit dry for a signature chicken dish. The octopus app was a baby octopus, not a fan of that and usually it will mention on the menu which it did not, so that was also not a winner for us. Very nice wait staff.
average restaurant. Had higher expectation since it was related to The Clam....which we loved.
Mike Price and Joey Campanaro never disappoint. Never a bad meal at their restaurants!
We ate here after the theater on Minette lane. Perfect. Had to wait a bit for our table but were happily downing a bottle of proseco at the bar. Place was very loud when we arrived but quite as rhe evening went on. We ordered 7 dishes for the 4 of us -- no main courses and.mostly vegetables. Everything very tasty. Bill was still close to $300. A bit expensive for small plates but enjoyable and service very good.
A real gem in the city, fantasticly fresh and varied menu, great staff and reasonably priced. Attentive but not intrusive service.
Our neighborhood favorite. Great lighting & music (which is key to my wife and I) make the atmosphere cozy and inviting. The host Shay is the best. Very nice people. Never had anything less than a fantastic meal here. Love this place.
Always our favorite restaurant to visit on a special occasion! We love Market Table :)
Loved the food! It was farm fresh super good quality & tasty!
Great food and service. Would definitely go back, and want to try Little Owl, the sister restaurant.
This serendipitously was our second time at Market Table. In August 2015 we were looking for a local restaurant and ended up at Market Table. Last weekend, looking on Yelp for a farm to table restaurant, I made the reservation on Open Table, then began to have this feeling we'd been there before. Sure enough, we come to NYC once in a blue moon, and with 4,000+ restaurants in the city, we end up here again! Could not have asked for a better experience. Andrew, our waiter, was solicitous without being overbearing and the water glasses were filled at just the right moment. He had suggestions for his favorites on the menu and then let us decide. I had a chicken dish over sweet potatoes which was succulent, if a tad salty. The sweet potatoes were amazing, tender, flavorful. My husband had the lamb since it was the day before Easter and Easter dinner was going to be iffy with travel. He loved it, cooked perfectly. Our sons both had the pork loin. Their clean plates told the story. Dessert was a scoop of mascarpone gelato and a scoop of raspberry sorbet. Wonderful combination (you can pick and choose how many of which you want). Our youngest had the Nutella cheesecake. I thought it would be too chocolaty, but ended up stealing as many bites as I could!
The atmosphere is wonderful. The restaurant was full, and we were near the door, but noise level was just right. Lighting was good too for my slightly older eyes (my sons would say much older). I HIGHLY recommend Market Table! Perhaps we will end up there again in another 2.5 years! I hope it's sooner.
Good food, enjoyed the dinner... but they sat us next to the ONLY other party in the restaurant, while all the other tables remained empty for almost an hour (we were there at opening). Please space your seatings more wisely!
seated promptly, friendly staff. Five of us for brunch, we all thought our food was excellent.
One of the most satisfying meals I have enjoyed in a long time.
We had a wonderful meal at Market Table. Excellent cocktails, delicious beet and goat cheese salad, wonderful skate with brussel sprouts and a parsnip puree and fabulous chocolate cake for dessert. But the very best part was the hostess who went out of her way to insure we had a quiet table. This is a noisy restaurant but there are quieter tables in the front and we really appreciated her efforts to secure one for us.
A consistently delicious attentive experience. Wonderful
Had a very nice brunch at this charming Greenwich Village restaurant - fresh ingredients, pleasant service.
Always consistent and good - Bear and team are simply great,
Market Table is such a gem. A neighborhood spot with excellent food, drinks and service (shout out to bartender Amelia this visit). Tonight’s highlights included the cavatelli with broccoli and salami, the chicken entree (not at all dull, trust) and the apple pie.
Found on the internet and took a chance. Fabulous dishes, each with very distinctive tastes, and totally fresh. Would love to return and dip further into the menu. The Cod was divine.
I made this reservation through Open Table quite late for a Saturday evening in Manhattan, using the `here's what's open' feature they offer after most of the places I had thought of were full. What a fantastic surprise. The ambience is fantastic, with huge windows and an interior mostly lit by candlelight. The food was outstanding (though I asked for my salmon to be cooked through and it still had a very rare center). The wine was pricey but great. I look forward to a return.
Market Table has two major pluses - the lovely waitstaff and the incredible food (plus a well-chosen wine list). It was worth waiting on a very energetic Friday night for our table. The previous diners apparently refused to leave but we were finally seated and joyfully over ordered like insane people. The lamb sliders engendered moans of delight; all the side dishes (broccoli, fries, acorn squash) were divine, the lamb shank fell apart in the fork, the chicken was perfect (and the accompanying book chit was perfectly cooked) plus the skirt steak in sangria worked brilliantly.
The only downside was the noise. Our next door neighbours brayed like donkeys over more and more drinks (and that was the women) and then the men behind us competed in the laugh olympics so we could barely understand each other. Not the restaurant’s fault but be aware that the Friday night clientele appear to be financial district under -40s with the commensurate behavioural patterns
food n service was excellent
Have been to Market Table many times and never disappointed. Menu has great options for starters and entrees. The squash & honey crisp salad and ricotta cavatelli were both delicious.
The monk fish and lamb shank had everyone at the table talking. We ordered 3 sides for the table and all were outstanding. Our server Frances is a pro and really took care of us from start to finish. Warm and friendly; the whole crew consistently exceed expectations.
The Hostesses were amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious. We were four and everyone loved their food. We tasted each other’s and we couldn’t decide which one was better.
Very good food and terrific service. We were there for brunch with a toddler and they couldn’t have been nicer. My only quibble is that there was garlic in the spinach that came with eggs and my daughter who ordered them can’t eat that. They very nicely brought some without it. But it seemed like an odd ingredient for that dish to begin with. Everything else was delicious and well cooked.
Always delicious!! Love this place. Great food, good service, comfortable.
A friend and I split a bunch of small plates - all of which were delicious. Some highlights - Lamb Merguez sliders, Cured Organic Salmon, Squash and Honey Crisp Salad. Service was excellent - especially the way they split all our dishes for us on to separate plates. Also would highly recommend the Furiosa cocktail.
I've always wanted to try Market Table. I went with a friend for Saturday brunch. The biggest issue was the incredible amount of noise. It was really, hard to have a conversation, not to mention to eat. I couldn't hear what the person sitting across from me was saying. For me, the experience was not good. Clearly, it's not an issue for many people, since the place seems to be packed everytime I walk past it. The service was ok. The wait staff was friendly. I won't be back unless they address the noise issue.
Everything was excellent. I felt rushed by our server, however. She seemed impatient and it was a Thursday night and there was no wait line. But - overall - meal was delicious.
The food is excellent. It's the second time I've been there. I liked it so much the first time, I took another friend there the following week.
Special accolades to the hostess, bartender and wait staff, who are personable, super customer-oriented and attractive. Our server Frances was absolutely superb and knowledgeable about all of the dishes.
excellent in all categories...atmosphere, food, server all excelent
Incredible place, when you first come in the noise level strike you but after a few minutes, you kind of blend in.
Service was beyond our expectations.
Everything was great. Food delicious. It is a small space and got very loud but a really lovely meal.
Nice, clean fresh delicious food.
We were at the perfect corner table for a business dinner. Restaurant was cozy, delicious food and it was great we were able to have conversations without worrying about the place being too noisy. Staff were very friendly, attentive but never intrusive. They didn't rush us after we paid the bill which i appreciate.
Perfect for brunch in WV
Destination village restaurant
Market Table has been a favorite of ours since it opened. Food and service never disappoint. Some excellent wines at reasonable prices. Reception was extraordinary gracious, thank you. Our after IFC/Film Forum first choice. Reserve early.
There are two comments...one is that the restaurant was empty and they sat another party right next to us which was annoying. The other comment is that the prices are extremely high for what you get and I don't honestly think it's worth it. There are several restaurants in the west village which are better values.
