Always consistent and good - Bear and team are simply great,
Market Table is such a gem. A neighborhood spot with excellent food, drinks and service (shout out to bartender Amelia this visit). Tonight’s highlights included the cavatelli with broccoli and salami, the chicken entree (not at all dull, trust) and the apple pie.
Found on the internet and took a chance. Fabulous dishes, each with very distinctive tastes, and totally fresh. Would love to return and dip further into the menu. The Cod was divine.
I made this reservation through Open Table quite late for a Saturday evening in Manhattan, using the `here's what's open' feature they offer after most of the places I had thought of were full. What a fantastic surprise. The ambience is fantastic, with huge windows and an interior mostly lit by candlelight. The food was outstanding (though I asked for my salmon to be cooked through and it still had a very rare center). The wine was pricey but great. I look forward to a return.
Market Table has two major pluses - the lovely waitstaff and the incredible food (plus a well-chosen wine list). It was worth waiting on a very energetic Friday night for our table. The previous diners apparently refused to leave but we were finally seated and joyfully over ordered like insane people. The lamb sliders engendered moans of delight; all the side dishes (broccoli, fries, acorn squash) were divine, the lamb shank fell apart in the fork, the chicken was perfect (and the accompanying book chit was perfectly cooked) plus the skirt steak in sangria worked brilliantly.
The only downside was the noise. Our next door neighbours brayed like donkeys over more and more drinks (and that was the women) and then the men behind us competed in the laugh olympics so we could barely understand each other. Not the restaurant’s fault but be aware that the Friday night clientele appear to be financial district under -40s with the commensurate behavioural patterns
food n service was excellent
Have been to Market Table many times and never disappointed. Menu has great options for starters and entrees. The squash & honey crisp salad and ricotta cavatelli were both delicious.
The monk fish and lamb shank had everyone at the table talking. We ordered 3 sides for the table and all were outstanding. Our server Frances is a pro and really took care of us from start to finish. Warm and friendly; the whole crew consistently exceed expectations.
The Hostesses were amazing. They couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious. We were four and everyone loved their food. We tasted each other’s and we couldn’t decide which one was better.
Very good food and terrific service. We were there for brunch with a toddler and they couldn’t have been nicer. My only quibble is that there was garlic in the spinach that came with eggs and my daughter who ordered them can’t eat that. They very nicely brought some without it. But it seemed like an odd ingredient for that dish to begin with. Everything else was delicious and well cooked.
Always delicious!! Love this place. Great food, good service, comfortable.
A friend and I split a bunch of small plates - all of which were delicious. Some highlights - Lamb Merguez sliders, Cured Organic Salmon, Squash and Honey Crisp Salad. Service was excellent - especially the way they split all our dishes for us on to separate plates. Also would highly recommend the Furiosa cocktail.
I've always wanted to try Market Table. I went with a friend for Saturday brunch. The biggest issue was the incredible amount of noise. It was really, hard to have a conversation, not to mention to eat. I couldn't hear what the person sitting across from me was saying. For me, the experience was not good. Clearly, it's not an issue for many people, since the place seems to be packed everytime I walk past it. The service was ok. The wait staff was friendly. I won't be back unless they address the noise issue.
Everything was excellent. I felt rushed by our server, however. She seemed impatient and it was a Thursday night and there was no wait line. But - overall - meal was delicious.
The food is excellent. It's the second time I've been there. I liked it so much the first time, I took another friend there the following week.
Special accolades to the hostess, bartender and wait staff, who are personable, super customer-oriented and attractive. Our server Frances was absolutely superb and knowledgeable about all of the dishes.
excellent in all categories...atmosphere, food, server all excelent
Incredible place, when you first come in the noise level strike you but after a few minutes, you kind of blend in.
Service was beyond our expectations.
Everything was great. Food delicious. It is a small space and got very loud but a really lovely meal.
Nice, clean fresh delicious food.
We were at the perfect corner table for a business dinner. Restaurant was cozy, delicious food and it was great we were able to have conversations without worrying about the place being too noisy. Staff were very friendly, attentive but never intrusive. They didn't rush us after we paid the bill which i appreciate.
Perfect for brunch in WV
Destination village restaurant
Market Table has been a favorite of ours since it opened. Food and service never disappoint. Some excellent wines at reasonable prices. Reception was extraordinary gracious, thank you. Our after IFC/Film Forum first choice. Reserve early.
There are two comments...one is that the restaurant was empty and they sat another party right next to us which was annoying. The other comment is that the prices are extremely high for what you get and I don't honestly think it's worth it. There are several restaurants in the west village which are better values.
Great food, great staff!
Great reliable food
Never disappoints. Everything amazing. Lamb, flank steak
Very cool place at the corner of a typical village intersection w/ beautiful young people walking by outside every few seconds. We sat at the corner window table and spent the evening w/ tasty cocktails, apps, dinner, dessert. This is NYC so I've definitely had better food elsewhere and paid much more for it. The main room is beautifully decorated w/ large street side windows you don't find anywhere else in the village.
Delicious dinner and very kind personnel.
Just perfect. Food was delicious. The mood magical. The service cordial and friendly. No attitude. Just a down to earth with attention to detail kind of spot!
Fabulous and tasty food. Very good service. Charming setting and reasonable prices for such well prepared and thoughtful food. Wine selection could use a little more variety but I’m being picky.
Hope to visit again soon.
One of the best dining experiences in NYC.
Fresh and creative. Can’t wait to go back.
Ask for Frances. She is a delight.
Place was great! It was our anniversary and we have been saving Wine corks. Our server accidentally took it from the table not knowing we wanted to keep it and went above and beyond to find it for us. Food was great as always!
Great food and great venue!
Wonderful as always. Great food nice people service A+
Our first time, we were so impressed with the eclectic menu, wine list was great for 1/2 bottles or bottles. Sharing an entree was a good idea, large portions.
My favorite place for dinner in NYC right now! The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is cozy.
This was the poorest experience I have ever had at a quality restaurant.
We had a 2:15 pm lunch reservation and wasn’t seated until 2:35 pm. When we were finally seated we were then told we needed to order immediately because the kitchen would be closing soon.
Place was nice. Very warm and cozy. Food was good. Prices were very high. 225.00 for 2 chicken dinners and a salmon dish.
I love bringing out-of-town guests to Market Table. Delicious food, friendly service, relaxed but professional vibe, and a great location in the always charming West Village.
This Village gem always delivers a great meal.
Excellent food and good service. The restaurant is rather open so the environment was louder than normal. We did not receive the appetizers we ordered but the meal made up for it.
