Experience was great from host to the waitress.
Starting with great hostessing right thru to the waiters and busboys the service was top notch. Loved the menu - could not pick only one thing to eat - great choices and very seasonal. All in all a great meal and at very good NYC prices.
Saw Joey on TV. Decided on our visit to NYC we would try Market Table. It didn't disappoint. A little high...but good.
Food never fails to impress. This is not a fancy or pretentious place, but the kitchen always hits a home run with every dish. I have been here a few times and every app, every main, every side, and every cocktail is always fantastic. You cannot go wrong. Service is also very hospitable. Great place to meet a couple of friends. It's an intimate space and therefore good for a low-key date, altho the ambience is not notably romantic or "special." A solid choice in a neighborhood with great options.
I have loved Market Table since it opened and my level of enthusiasm has not changed. This continues to be my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and one of my favs in the city.
The food is excellent, the staff is courteous and attentive and David is terrific with helping us with the wine!
One of the best meals I’ve had and a lovely small restaurant
There’s that old joke “the food was terrible—and such small portions!” That pretty much sums up our brunch at Market Table. Our waitress was sweet and helpful, but the food was embarrassingly bad: My friend’s $19 Cobb salad was mostly a pile of sad, wilted iceberg that looked like it came out of a bag. Our seasonal salads plate consisted of three individual bites of three different salads; they were relatively tasty, but we literally had to cut up a lone pecan so we could split it three ways. And my friend’s pancakes were lifeless, rubbery slabs. It’s too bad—this place used to be pretty good and a go-to for business lunches. Maybe it was just an off-day. I hope so...
Intimate place with beyond creative options. Handcrafted cocktail options are extraordinary as is the vibe. Lighting is spot on for a romantic night.
Excellent food and service with lovely clean decor and a rustic modern vibe.
Booked specifically for Thanksgiving and it didn't disappoint
The menu changes which keeps things interesting and everything, everything I've ever ordered has been perfect, delicious, with a twist.
Other than getting seated 28 minutes late for a 1pm reservation and the host forgetting about us until prodded, and being completely unapologetic about the wait, it was fine.
Enjoyed a long, gluttonous lunch with a friend who was visiting the city. Everything we had was delicious. He even proclaimed his rueben sandwich, "the best I've ever had!" The homemade potato chips were also surprisingly tasty, since I'm not usually very excited by chips. Would definitely come back here again.
Fresh and elegant food, centered on new interpretations of Italian classics. Great wine list. All happening in a casual and welcoming space, half grocery, half restaurant.
Great dinner with terrific server.
Everything was delicious. Unhurried service.
Noise level a little high.
The food is always great, especially the vegetables. It is always louder than I want it to be.
Incredible meal...we started with the beet salad (fantastic) and the gnocchi (delicious) to share among four, then i had the salmon entree (perfect) and my wife had the crispy chicken (highly recommended). Beautiful space, wonderful waiter, had a great time.
Market Table before the renovation was 10x better than the new. Not sure what changed, but I frequent all of their restaurants and I have to say that Market Table is now the bottom rung of the three. Well worth waiting for Little Owl over Market Table.
Food was fresh and delicious! I had friends in from a Indonesia and they loved it also!
The renovation of restaurant is great I so wanted to love this restaurant service was great appetizers...autumn salad and risotto delicious but both main courses not good the salad in the pork chop Milanese was so wet thAt breading on pork chop was wet and smothered in too much sauce the hanger steak was also smothered in too much sauce it is a chewy piece of meat and the slices were too large and difficult to cut
Reliable food and ambiance. Service was ok but not great, except at the bar where the bartender was really great and accommodating. Whole branzino was best entree, better then lamb shank... the fried zucchini side dish/ appetizer was uninspired over cooked and our least favorite item.
Warm service. Diverse menu. Tons of veggies cooked creatively but plenty for the meat lover too. And a lovely cocktail...
Great for easy casual dinner
We enjoyed a reunion of college friends & celebrated a 50th birthday. The staff was super attentive & made the evening magical. Good food is a must for a successful restaurant but the staff really makes a place spectacular. Thanks for a lovely evening!
Market Table has been my FAVORITE restaurant since moving to NYC over ten years ago. I have taken dozens of people there. This was my first visit since the remodel.
I had a friend visiting from England and went on and on about MT and how good it is. However, the remodel has increased the noise level by at least 50%. I could not hear my guest from across the table, and my hearing is perfect. They have added more tables, so it was even tighter than before.
The food was good, as usual, however, the ambiance canceled out the enjoyment. I was looking forward to one of the deserts on the menu, but we left without ordering due to the noise.
The remodel has ruined my favorite place. I'm so disappointed.
Love this place. Love it. Totally accommodating, staff is awesome, food is wonderful, bartenders... very knowledgeable.
Outstanding food, great service - a wonderful surprise and a true value. Only negative is it is too loud, really needs some sound deadening and/or a noise cancellation system. Will definitely go back.
The AC and fans were not working which took away from the experience. The raspberry sauce with the chocolate and coffee dessert was unnecessary. Salmon was great!
The food is outstanding and the chef does an amazing job using the seasonal vegetables. They also know how to pair good wines that goes great with your food. It is a bit pricey but worth spending than to a cheaper restaurant with not good food or not good wine. Thumbs up to the Chef!
a good choice for a casual neighborhood type restaurant. Farm to table style, food was fresh, and good. Liked the ambiance.
Romantic restaurant with great food options. We ordered several small dishes and all of them were excellent. Also their menu includes some very good European wines
Food was delicious and the presentation was great. Very attentive staff. My friends and I was very impressed.
Had to ask waitress 2x for different things. Very cold and they could not close windows because ac was out!
a crisp environment: open, airy and uncluttered. attentive service, timely delivery of drinks and courses, excellent entrees. fish perfect; chicken a must-try; dessert more than interesting. worth a try, but be prepared for a noise level that is a little too loud for conversation.
The pan roasted chicken is their signature dish and is awesome. The appetizers, entrees, and sides deliver expertly nuanced flavors that makes dining a symphony. However, the service is friendly-familiar and the wait staff is beyond attentive and polite. They take care of you and make dinner a true enjoyment.
Although the food is very good, it was so noisy in the restaurant that we could not carry on a conversation at all. The dining room has roughly 10-12 tables (all varying sizes from 2-6) with very high ceilings. We were a party of four and against a wall yet I could not converse with those across from me at all. With so many great restaurants in manhattan the Boise level is truly a deterrent.
Much has been said about MT. We've dined here many times over the past year. Always well crafted and solid food experience. Appetizers were inventive. The space is comfortable and open. A classic.
Consistently good restaurant. They recently changed the menu but no complaints. It's a bit simpler than before but just as good.
Outstanding food, very well done menu with simple and delicious options. the produce looks and tastes like someone just picked up from the garden and the prices are perfectly fit for the product offered.
the service was fast, attentive and lovely.
perfect spot for a summer brunch located in a lovely neighborhood.
noise level was a little above average.
