Market Street Inn
Very, very good food. The crab cake is out of this world...all crab, no filler. The creamy crab dip appetizer is excellent; the bread is a real treat. Lively outdoor dining spot on a perfect weather evening!
I ordered one of the specials- the scallops- which were very good. I requested a certain table and we were accommodated very graciously. Our server was a little slow but we were doing alot of chatting so it was ok but otherwise i would have been annoyed.
I have found Market Street to have good days and bad days or should i say good entrees and not so good entrees so I am grateful when i have a good meal but don't feel i can consistently have a good meal
Service was very slow and inattentive.
Took two hours for a two course meal.
They were able to accommodate our large party. Server was great. Mashed potatoes came out cold but we didn’t make a big issue out of it. Food was good but overpriced. The price was what I would expect from a bigger city...not Salisbury MD...but I guess they are going to charge more for tourists.
The food was very good, as was the service. I did think it was a bit pricey. I would go there again.
Awesome and amazing it was one of my favorite places
Very small and noisy. Prices were a little high, but food was wonderful.
We have eaten here for years. I would highly recommend. Service and food are great. I love the cosy, rustic atmosphere. The only caveat is that if you are there for a peaceful dinner, you would not want a table near the bar area. The long rectangular dining area along the windows picks up bar noise. Our table was at the other end so we were not bothered most of the time.
The restaurant was practically empty yet we were seating in the dining room area, yet yeh sat a large party right next to us so we could hardly hear ourselves talk.
The staff was slow and inattentive.
I have dined there several times but this experience was particularly poor.
Loved the food and the service! I made the reservation for 3pm for a nice Christmas Eve dinner for the family but didn't realize that the dinner menu started at 4pm. However, when we arrived the hostess asked us if we knew about the timing and did offer to check with the chef to see if we could order from the special Christmas eve dinner menu. Luckily we were able to order from the dinner menu and loved everything we ordered. Crab dip with pull apart bread, home made chips with vinegar for apps, I had the shrimp and crab risotto, my husband has the rockfish with lumpcrab and rice, the kids had crab cakes and a chicken caesar salad. Soooo Yummy!!
Went for wife’s birthday. We went here on our 1st date, we have always loved this place.
In terms of nice restaurants in Salisbury this is one of the two available. (there is a third, but it is overpriced and over celebrated) The local clientele has caused it to make some changes over the years. The bar scene has migrated into the restaurant area. More TVs on the wall. However, it is better than a sports bar with a menu that is creative and always good. The service here is still very good. I suspect they do some training. Really never had bad service here. If you want a nice quiet meal there is a section that is away from the bar and TVs near the fireplace. Request that area when you make your reservation for those special quiet meals. The food remains top notch. The menu changes and I always have to decide between options. There are options for what would be considered bar food, but you can get the full menu in both the bar area and the restaurant area. Come summertime the large deck area opens up on the water. There, you can get "Free Beer Tomorrow".
We celebrated our son’s 21st birthday & had a lovely meal & excellent service
Food and service was fantastic. Went for a birthday date-night and it was perfect. Will definitely be back for special occasions.
Wonderful birthday lunch with my friend. Food delicious as always.
Great food in a great atmosphere. Attentive Waitress.
Server was fabulous. Attentive but not overbearing
Food was good No problem minoring the few requests we did have. Very gracious
Wewpuld use them again for our party
Really like the new menu items. Very happy to see some updated foods and classics. Not a fan of the booths in the side room. They are very small and do not allow much room for drinks etc, and lord forbid if you are not a "small person"! Drink menu is also awesome!
Was unexpectedly in town overnight. The service was prompt, quiet and efficient. The food was pretty decent.
The Market Street Inn was great! Our waiter, Brad was great too. We recommend it for any occasion.
Always have had great service. Sometimes a little noisier than I like but that is few and far between. Great food and great service.
Started off good with the menu looking very good. Then we ordered. Food was grossly under seasoned. Burger, Mac and cheese (served cold at first) wings all were sub par and needed something added to them. “Jambalaya” was more of a tomato soup, though spicy reminded me more of Manhattan without the clams. Server though friendly, was not attentive. No check back other than to correct the cold food , then no refills on drinks. Place is cool looking and over looking water which is nice but having to pay for parking in addition to an sub par experience it isn’t worth it.
Spending the evening with a relative in from out of state- Way out of state. Requested a TABLE ( got a booth below two big screen tv’s- not distracting at all). Wanted to be in ‘fine dining’ area ended up 3’ from the bar. Drink service was slow to say the least, 2/3 the meals were acceptable 3rd was rough, improper cooking temperature, second time around over done to say the least and the sides were cold at best. The 3rd person had to eat easily 15 minutes after the other 2 were done with no compensation for the inconvenience at all— very disappointed as I picked this as THE PLACE to bring cousin of all the places in salisbury- learned my lesson.
Great first visit!
I've had lunch there several times and been quite pleased. Was looking forward to a leisurely and enjoyable lunch of good food. This time the food quality seemed to be not quite up to expectations. I had the jerk chicken sandwich and it was very over seasoned. In addition it was the whole breast flattened out which : 1) left the center connective tissue which is not pleasant to eat, and, 2) was too large for the roll and made easting it a mess. The "beach fries" were not hot and the portion half the size it used to be (I have dreamed of the fries in past years, no more). The service was pleasant but not thoughtful (pools of water formed on the table from the moisture from the drinks glasses but no offer of napkins, etc. was made).
First; my server was very pleasant, professional, and attentive. The salmon dish is delightful and fulfilling. I am looking forward to my next dining experience.
Excellent service. We had specials for apps and entrees and all were delicious.
Every visit to the Eastern Shore has to include a meal at The Market Street Inn. Food, service and staff are exceptional. Crab cakes are the Best!
Service was bad. Never served bread. Waited thirty five minutes and when we got food , it was barely warm. Very disappointing!
Market Street always has interesting Blackboard specials. Staff is always friendly courteous and well-trained.
Vinny of LaRoma cooks his wonderful Italian food on Tuesday nights. It is a delicious and a great place to run into old friends.
We have been there many times. The service has always been exceptional but really missed the mark this visit. We waited a long time for the bread then got our meal shortly thereafter. Got dessert and the check fairly quickly but the waitress never came back to pick it up. Food was exceptional as always. Not sure what went wrong but we were very disappointed in the service. We come here every time we visit Salisbury. Will try again and hope for a better server.
We arrived for our 11 a.m. reservation. There was one other group in the restaurant and we noticed an unpleasant odor that smelled like what was used to clean the tables. The wait staff brought us menus and drinks quickly. We ordered and ended up having them box up the lunch order directly from the kitchen at 11:45 a.m. so we were never served the lunch
Visited MSI for my birthday, we were running a bit late however when I called them the girl that answered the phone was lovely and confirmed she had booked us into a booth. The atmosphere was great it was quite noisy but I like that, you don't feel like you have to whisper. The menu has a lot of choice and obviously includes a lot of seafood. We chose Ahi tuna and Jerk chicken as appetizers and Seafood pasta and rib eye steak as entrees. The Ahi was delicious, nice and pink and was accompanied by wasabi and soy sauce. My husband said that his Jerk chicken was just right. My Seafood pasta included shrimp, scallops and crab meat in a creamy Alfredo sauce with a lemon half (helpfully wrapped to stop juice everywhere). My husbands rib eye was extremely tender and came with crispy onions (in batter) and vegetables. The portion sizes were adequate, I have a relatively small appetite and I couldn't finish my entree. They have a HUGE wine list which was excellent for me with bottles stored in very novel wooden bins. Our server, Kristy, was very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble.
Overall it was a great evening, bit pricey but the food is fabulous. I would definitely recommend it.
Market Street...Always great, never disappoints.....Jess was our server...great....
Food really was wonderful, however, the kitchen was exceedingly slow. We were assured multiple times that our food was being plated....over a span of at least 20 minutes. We had a 6:15 reservation and a theater tickets for 8 pm. We were rushed to get to the show (only 5 minutes away) in time for the curtain. I will say that the server and the hostess were accommodating and apologetic for the slow kitchen.
Great food if you're not in a hurry to be anywhere! Wait staff was attentive however seemed oblivious to how much time it took for an order consisting of sandwiches and salads!
Dining with 8 television sets in view is not my idea of dining. In addition, one person at our table could see them, and the other person could see them only reflected in the windows. The bottles of oil, etc., were slippery with oil, hard to hold. The dinner itself was fine. The server mistook our wine order, brought the bottle instead of 2 glasses.
This restaurant always has top notch service and food.
If looking for a quiet meal, ask to be seated on the restaurant side and away from the bar/pub. Food is okay, but bland and nothing particularly special.
