We had been there on Sunday and had an excellent meal with outstanding service. We went back on Friday and had the worse meal and service ever. They were pushing people out as fast as possible because of the basketball playoffs. It seemed like the servers were only interested in big parties and ignored parties of 2. I managed to track down the Manager about my cold lumpy rice (actually in balls)and the best he could do was say the kitchen mixed up the pots and it should have been tossed. He offered me a free dessert. My very expensive meal was ruined and the best he could do was offer a cheap dessert. Our waitress disappeared after taking our order and we didn't see her again until she came to ask what we wanted for the free dessert. We were so disgusted that we didn't bother with dessert as the meal and our experience was terrible. We go to this restaurant every time we visit SLC but will not go again after this experience.

Excellent, expertly prepared seafood unusual so far from either coast. Great wine list.

Food was delicious and the service was over and beyond what I would expect. It is a higher priced restaurant which is perfect for a special occasion.

This place had really good seafood and the prime rib was also really good. I will definitely be back to eat here.

The food was really good, but we were not happy that we ordered the calamari, as did the table right next to ours. Their calamari looked much better than ours and it looked like they had a lot more. We were disappointed with that. Our server was also an it slow. She looked right at our table and saw that we were finished, then walked away. We had to flag her down for boxes and the check. But the soup and main course was very good, as was the creme brûlée.

While the Ahi was excellent, the Clam Chowder lacked an essential - the clams. The Crab Louie had an an abundance of shells, and the leafly elements of the salad were wilted and lacked freshness. Nine out out ten times our dining experiences were delightful. This time it was far from pleasant.

Picky daughter enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. I also enjoyed the oysters (had all 4 types)...not dirty or tasting of bay at all. Cioppino and seafood pasta were also tasty. Sabayon with extra Sabayon and extra berries will change your life.

The Clam Chowder and wine N2 were as tasty as I've ever had. The early bird prime rib was good but not the best I've had. I expected it to be better so was mildly disappointed. Overall it was a great experience and I will dine with you again.

I used to go to this place when I lived in SLC and loved it! Unfortunately, while visiting this past week, I went back for old time's sake. The king salmon I had was very over cooked and dry.
I hope this was just a bad night for the kitchen staff. The service was also not very good which is very different from my experiences in the past.

After enjoying Market Street Grill for more than thirty years, it is still one of the first restaurants we think of when in Salt Lake City. Superb, fresh seafood, excellent service, at a great value.

Food was pretty good, but our server made us feel hurried, not friendly. Most likely an isolated incident as other servers appeared friendly to their customers. Food was okay, but not worth the price for a Salt Lake City restaurant.

The restaurant overall was nice but It was really hot and felt like there was little air flow. The food tasted good but seemed like a buffet version of what it should have been even though your paying full price. It seemed like whoever was on grill didnt know how to grill at all. For what we got it was very expensive and not that impressive. We will not be going back.

We always go here whenever we are in Salt Lake. This trip we were underwhelmed. Half of our mussels weren't opened and the clams were a bit gritty. Also the halibut was a bit dried out and not as moist as it usually has been. Prices have gone up as well.

Just ok, but not close to the great seafood restaurants found around the Chesapeake Bay, New Orleans, San Francisco, Hawaii, etc! The decor and service is very nice and remarkable "waterfront inspired"! Well, after all this is Salt Lake City so maybe I'm being too hard on 'em? They were busy and seem very popular!

Very casual with a lot of seafood offerings. Not a place for a romantic dinner. My fish and chips halibut was less than good but my wife's salmon was excellent. Service was slow. Will not return.

Enjoyed our evening dinner at the Market Street Grill very much. Wanted a place where we could dress for the opera and not feel overdressed at dinner. Food was really excellent as was the waitress. Probably the only really good seafood in the area.

It took 25 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got water. The service was slower than I have ever seen. They were out of scallops, so I ordered Tuna. 30 minutes later the waitress came back to tell me they were out of Tuna. We didn't receive our entree for an hour and a half. So, she offered us a free key lime pie, which neither of us wanted but no apology. It was a slow, expensive and unsettling date.

Wrong drinks, wrong server, wrong choice of restaurants. Ordered Halibut and Salmon on a cedar plank, Halibut was dry. When server finally came back and saw retreated to bring me a piece just pan fried, never gave me a choice of if I wanted it done that way.
We arrived promptly at 6:15 left at 8:30, would have been later if we waited for the server to come back to collect the check

We are at the downtown Salt Lake restsurant. They put us in the East restaurant as the main restaurant was full. We had a very small table for two so close to another table that we felt restricted in our conversation. The service was very slow. We arrived at 8:00pm, ordered quickly and didn't see the appetizer unti 8:45. The crab artichoke spinach dip was dull. The my salad had a long blond hair in it. The blue cheese avocado dressing was very scant and the lettuce was stale. However the crab legs were outstanding and so was the prime rib.
The noise level of the restaurant made conversation very difficult.

The great entrees don't make up for the other deficiencies.

Had a reservation but was passed over for others who did not...Even arriving 10 min early didn't make a difference. Was finally seated 30 min after reservation.
Aside from that, the food and waitress was excellent.
