Outstanding food. Outstanding service. I hadn’t been there in years, and it did not disappoint.
One of the best meals.. creative chef
Definitely a place I’ll return to next time I’m in the area!
We are always thrilled with Market's food and service!
Early Mother’s Day dinner: Service was highly polished and well orchestrated. Despite a limited gin selection, a suitable martini was delivered. Wine selection thoughtful and offering a variety of prices. A growth Bordeaux was offered at a very reasonable price and was a wonderful accompaniment to dinner, though a glass of white Burgundy also proved tempting. Food was good to excellent. The starters were exceptional, particularly the avocado salad. Entrees were good, but not as stellar; the saffron ricotta ravioli lacked texture. The coconut verrine was a disappointment; on the other hand, the blackberry tart with the earl gray ice cream was one of the most stunning desserts I have ever tried.
Amazing. Should be Michelin rated.
When we arrived the hostess wanted to seat us at a horrible table by the door when there were plenty of empty tables. After pouting she reluctantly moved us.
We wanted to order appetizers and the waiters told us that the chef requires all food to be ordered at the same time, a bit rudish.
The food was fantastic however so the evening went on fine.
We paid $19 each for two glasses of wine that was very poor quality. Nobody had any more wine afterwards. If you pay $19 of a glass of wine you expect that it would be above average wine and this was not. The food was good.
Absolutely delicious. We had an avocado soup that was ambrosial and sautéed vegetables that were locally grown and done to perfection. Wow! A true taste delight.
The food and service were good. The food, however, took a really long time to get to the table especially for a Wednesday. This was our first time at this restaurant so not sure if that's the norm or is unusual. Our whole family arrived at 645 and the entrees didn't come until about after 8.
Everything about the Market is wonderful. Great service, outstanding menu and great help Roth wine selections
It was the best Resto in SD.
Superb in every way. Great service, great food, spectacular presentation. Only criticism is the wine list has too few selections below $60 a bottle and none below $40.
Wonderful food and service. Our third time there and haven’t been disappointed. Go. You’ll love it
One of the best restaurants in San Diego. Great innovating dishes artfully presented. Menu changes often. Atmosphere is subdued, and pleasant. Extraordinary service. Great wine list with multiple choices by the glass
Great Service and Incredible Food!
The service is great and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The menu is creative, delicious and very well presented. I highly recommend this restaurant
amazing as always!!!! never disappoints!!! one of my favorite places to go in san diego!!!
great service! great food!!
We were extremely pleased with our dining experience. The food was delicious with beautiful presentation. They utilize runners so the entres were all 4 delivered hot at the same time. The service was excellent, without being overdone. We will dine again soon at the Market.
All great!! But when we got home there was a stain in back of my husbands pants from sitting in booth in bar area. Our fingers are crossed that it comes out at dry cleaner!!
Always super solid!
Nothing to say really
Excellent dinner with attentive service.
Best restaurant I have tried in San Diego.
Went for my birthday! It was lovely. The staff was fantastic - attentive but didn’t rush us. The food was spectacular! The grapefruit, avocado and pistachio salad was so different and special. All of the good was perfect and beautiful to look at as well as eat. And for dessert we got a delicious slice of carrot cake with a candle! How nice. Would recommend highly.
Delicious and fresh - perfectly blended flavors! Service was very good.
Great ambiance, great service, very attentive, our waiter just seemed to know when to come over. And of course dinner was delicious, such good flavors! Can’t wait to go back.
I am not too crazy about the atmosphere, but the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Deserves to be named one of San Diego’s best restaurants.
Food was mediocre at best. Too much flavors
Market Restaurant and Bar is a high end restaurant for people who have no experience of high end service and cuisine. The service was very aggressive with a considerable lack of discretion. Food was inconsistent, some of the appetizers were good but others marginal, the beef rib eye entre was almost inedible. Apparently, the head chef requests that guests submit their order altogether including dessert and discourages parsing out an order.
The restaurant is overrated and needs an overhaul on the quality of service and preparation of the offerings. The cuisine is a southern mixture of everything, mix and match mistakenly interpreted as a high end cuisine. Portions are big and overall it feels like comfort food.
A most excellent meal - fresh ingredients, well-prepared, absolutely delicious! Well worth a visit. Not pretentious at all. Every course was great, with no item disappointing. Even the corn muffins in the bread basket were delicious. Waiter was friendly and attentive, but not too solicitous. Best meal we had in a week of dining in San DIego
Outstanding in every respect.
Great meal, great service. Our favorite restaurant!!!
Our overall experience was just okay with respects to the food. The steak was chewy and we added lobster as an add-on and it was a lot more pricy compared to its size than we expected. It was also very tough and chewy. The potatoes that came as side dish we didn’t like the tomato sauce garnish it didn’t seem to compliment the potatoes. The potatoes were very delicious just not with the tomato sauce garnish. The short ribs were very delicious. Service and ambiance was excellent!!
Food was delicious for the most part except bass with crab. It wasn't a bad dish but I'm not sure what they were going for. Veal with cheek was definitely the highlight dish.
Service was on point, except that we had to wait almost half an hour for our entries to come after the appetizers, so we already lost appetite by the time they came.
I love the black and white simple theme, great ambiance. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and they seated us at a 2 top. We found it hard to hear each other and asked to move to where we could sit next to each other. Luckily the restaurant wasn't packed and they accommodated us and were so friendly about it!!
The food was incredible, every flavor was unique.
We were told that two of us could get out of there for about $200 without alcohol. But with 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts our bill was at $160. We were pleased!
Everyone's food was amazing. We all enjoyed our starters, especially the salad with grapefruit and avocado, and each entree was perfect. The best part of all had to be the desserts though! Best dessert ever has to be the lemon semifreddo with fresh raspberries. I'll be back for that!
Fabulous ! Cozy with exceptional staff and a wonderful wine list
