Market Bistro Ratings and Reviews
My family and I were going to the movies and asked for a recommendation for dining from a restaurant group I belong to on-line. Several people recommended Market Bistro so we tried it and was extremely glad we did. I posted picture of my meal on the restaurant group and several others went there just to try the entre I had.. and they loved it to. One of my new favs!!
Have never had a disappointing moment at this fine restaurant....
until being charged 11 dollars for a cappuccino with a smidge of baileys in it. I don't ever skimp on good food and spirits and am used to paying between 12 and 17 dollars for a glass of wine or a martini, but never a flavored coffee. Had I actually been served a baileys straight up, I could have understood. Nevertheless, next time I will be more cautious when ordering drinks!
Food and wine were amazing! I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and not an ounce of fish taste as salmon can oftentimes have. My friend had the shrimp with mushroom risotto. Also excellent! Did I forget to mention that we started with the beet salad (large enough to share and then some). It was to die for! I could have had that and the delicious breadbasket and my wine and been perfectly content. Would highly recommend and will be going back again soon!
It's a bit of a surprise to find a place like this outside of Huntington on Long Island. I love the freshness of a farm to table menu, and the food and the service have yet to disappoint in more than six visits so far. It's become my go to local date restaurant with my girlfriend.
This restaurant would be right at home in the city, in Chelsea, or nestled up in the Catskills where there is a lot of good dining popping up. For central Nassau, it's a gem! If you haven't tried it, you should.
My wife has some dietary restrictions, so we sometimes have to be a little creative with putting a dish together. The menu choices were excellent and the waitress was even better! The meal was perfect and the price was on par with what we got. We will be back and I highly recommend Market Bistro.
The location they are in is going through major renovations, so you’ll have to look a little harder to find them. It’s worth the effort.
Went early on Thursday during restaurant week and was disappointed with everything but the wine. Was offered a table by the kitchen when almost every table was open; we declined and sat along the wall. Place looks nice inside, major construction outside.
The main drawback was the food had no seasoning at all. Salad was bland, potato leek soup was tasteless. Chicken in skillet was tender, but no seasoning and skin was not crisp. Pork chop not cooked through. Dessert of apple crisp was cold like from a fridge in the middle and no sugar in it at all. Chocolate cake was okay but again not warm as advertised. Waiter was disinterested, learned he cut his hand earlier and was in pain. Place was not clean. Would not recommend at all. There are so many excellent restaurants here that this is truly a waste of your money.
