About
For the more adventurous diner, Market 17 offers 'dining in the dark'. It is our chefs table in a private room that allows a new way to experience food. Once your sight is turned off, all the other senses are heightened. It's a fun and unique experience to enjoy our food. (Due to very limited seating, reservations for dining in the dark can only be made by phone)
Our menu will change daily and we'll always offer amazing tasting menus for you to sample what the chef has created. Come and experience for yourself what all the buzz is about!
One of our party had a mild allergic reaction. The staff were extremely helpful and a new meal was provided very quickly. I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone there.
Fabulous meal, great bar - unfortunately Market 17 was closing the following night!!
Unfortunately Chef Nicole and company must call it quits due to the restaurants building being demised. Definitely will be missed.
It was very, very good meal, which is what I expect when I spend $200 on dinner for two with only one cocktail and one beer.
Excellent as always!
An amazing find, but unfortunately we hears the restaurant will be closing in less than a week. So sorry to hear
This was our first time in Fort Lauderdale and first time at Market 17. It's so sad to hear that the building is being demolished and this restaurant will be closing. The food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. It was nice having the "tasting" size option so I could try two of the main courses rather than just one. Also, offering wines by the glass in 3 oz as well as 6 oz pours (at exactly half the price) allows you to sample a few different wines with your meal. We would love to come back if it were possible.
Went to this restaurant thinking it would be amazing due to the overwhelming amount of good reviews. Knew that the restaurant was going to be closing down which is why I wanted to try it before it did. Nothing special in my opinion. Not sure if its because they are closing down or the guests next to us ruined our experience. The manager was very focused on the party next to us and they were getting treated with exceptional service. Everything they ordered was brought out within 5 minutes and they got an explanation of all their food while it was being served. Manager even provided them with a free meal due to some inconvenience they had.
Our food was okay and the party next to us complained so much that it was not a good experience at all.
Glad we got this place out of our system. Won't be going back.
Excellent!
Market 17 is the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner. The ambiance is very chic and the menu exquisite. I had the cobia and okra for my side and both dishes were so flavorful. Definitely recommend for a date night or a GNO.
Not an attractive location - however interior is very nice. They have a patio which has some greenery to block the parking lot and the adjacent highway. Service was excellent with the exception of the server forgetting my husband's drink for solid 10-15 min. Very apologetic. We didn't try any of the starters other than a green salad - which was good. The entree that my husband and I chose was the "Grilled Local Swordfish Moroccan Spiced Bulgur Wheat, Grilled Green Beans, Squash, Bok Choy, Sherry Currants, Cashews, Tomato Coconut Curry, Starfruit Chutney". It was simply devine. I'm a hyper-critical "foodie" as I'm both an adventurous
home cook and frequent nice restaurants. Truly delicious meal. They also have a pretty extensive wine by the glass list. Wonderful evening.
If your a foody, youll love Market 17, the food is always wonderful.
Lousy service and so-so food with high prices. Very loud and dark. I had to use a phone flashlight to read the menu and the bill.
Arguably the best restaurant in South Florida. The food is absolutely delectable. Majority of the menu is fresh organic food that is sourced from local farmers. The ambiance and service is exquisite.
Valentine’s Day dinner
It was Valentines Day and I want a new place to have dinner. The food was delicious and the service was very good. I was disappointed with the Vanilla Pound Cake dessert. We will be returning.
Everything was perfect.
Always wonderful! Creative, delicious menu. Great ambience. We celebrated Valentine’s Day there and it couldn’t have been better. So sad that they are being forced to close in two weeks! (I believe the city is expanding Port Everglades). My whole family is really hoping they will reopen somewhere else. It will be sorely missed!
Valentine’s Day is obviously not a good day to evaluate a restaurant.
I have been dining at Market 17 at least once a year since I discovered some years ago. Once a year because we do the chef tasting with wine pairings which is quite costly. I have never felt disappointed after doing this. Well when I heard Market 17 was closing for good I insisted we go one last time. Well we did and I have never felt more dissatisfied after leaving dinner. 4 of the 6 dishes were over salted and the dessert was so plain. A half cookie and 2 very little pieces of cake with a dollop if ice cream look like a child put it together. It was definitely not worth the price in which we paid. For a few courses the wine arrived sometime after the food and one wine had so much sediment in it that I could’ve made a self portrait with it in my glass. Just seemed like they didn’t care about serving good food/ wine up until the very end. Felt like they just gave up.
Delicious food, great service
This food is art!
Delicious! One of our favorite restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale. Food is always fresh. This is a unique dining experience, a foodie haven!
First time there and disappointed to hear they have to move.
My absolute favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, which is unfortunately closing but I am hoping for another location?
Restaurant is closing on February 26th. Going to miss it. Really hope they decide to open in a new location. One of my Favs.
Couldn’t have been better!
Thank you for a perfect evening
One of my favorite restaurants when visiting Fort Lauderdale
Always consistent with their well deserved high ratings
Celebrating with clients
Fantastic food!
The combination of farm to table ingredients is always a plus. There is a variety of menu items and the descriptions sound amazing but still leave you thinking it could be just a bit better. I will still go back and hope for consistency to my first time!!
We were two well travelled couples and we all agreed that this was the best restaurant meal we had ever had. I can't believe it is closing down on February 25th.
Our way to Daniel was excellent. Space a restaurant itself is going out of business and closing shortly we wish we knew that before we book it. The food was extremely expensive for the quality and value the noise was OK I would not go back there again and I hope some very good restaurant in the area has Daniel backspace back
Our fourth visit to M17, and as always the food was excellent. On our previous visits, the waiters have also been excellent, providing the right amount of attention, taking care and providing first class service. On this occasion, our waiter couldn't be more contradictory to our previous experience. It was unrelaxing and the kind of fast-paced service you'd expect in an average diner. Our cutlery when laid, 3 times over a 3-course meal, was literally thrown in a hurried way across our table, our wine glasses were placed down in a hurry and left toppling as he speedily moved on. No patience, no etiquette and seemed to be in the hell of a hurry to be moving us on our way. Oddly, our drinks took a long time to be served and then when he presented us with the bill he told us there was no hurry and to take our time.....if only he'd done that with us. If we went back and he was our waiter I would ask for another one or another table!
A must try. Won’t be disappointed.
We had a very enjoyable dinner in the main dining room. The food was outstanding, service was excellent, and the noise level was at a good balance between bringing energy and being able to have a quiet conversation.
We got together with friends at Market 17 during a society meeting in Ft. Lauderdale. The food was very good but I would not say exceptional. My steak was great but the vegetables were not cooked through. The tuna that my husband and friend had was also very good and the scallops that the rest had was also very good. I would recommend going there and would go there again when I'm in Ft. Lauderdale.
