Marjan Fine Persian Grill provides authentic Persian cuisine in a comfortable atmosphere that makes it popular with those in Morristown, New Jersey. Each season a special deal is offered in addition to the lunch and dinner menu. With both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu items, everyone can find something theyll love.
For lunch, a popular choice at Marjan Fine Persian Grill is one of the wraps, including kubideh, kuku, chicken and olivieah, each with the choice of tahini or yogurt sauce. An ideal beginning for dinner is the combination appetizer platter which allows patrons to choose three of the seven available appetizers, such as hummus, kuku (Persian style frittata), dolmeh and mast-o-moosir. Kabobs and stews are the main events on the entre menu at Marjan Fine Persian Grill.
Both of our meals were underwhelming and overpriced. Not a green vegetable or leaf anywhere on our plates. Pilafs are very tasty but some of the dishes are overly sweet and not savory enough. Persians are known for their special desserts and we were disappointed to see only two middle eastern desserts on the menu (baklava and pistachio ice cream). The pistachio-rose flavored ice cream was delicious Two dinners and one appetizer for about $30 a person, was not worth it I'm sorry to say. If you're craving for middle eastern head to "Pure Pita" on South St. The food is fresher, authentic and half the price.
It was a Birthday for my wife and Marjan was fantastic. We were very satisfied.
This restaurant offered authentic and delicious food! The service was pleasant and it’s a BYOB, so an added plus!
Owners were super helpful in guiding us through the menu. Attentive, but not overbearing. Will return!
We LOVE Marjan - we go here almost every weekend and always have the same, top-notch experience.
Although we had a reservation, it seemed like they didn’t have it and seated us by the cold window! Other tables had reserved signs!
Unique and interesting menu. Everything was delicious, the prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend!
Reza the owner helped make my birthday special.Marjan his wife is always very warm and welcoming
Presentation of food was very appealing. Food was tasty! Workers were friendly and accommodating.
Delicious Persian food; light and tasty. Try the specialty rices! Great service.
Food was great the host was fantastic and accommodating great experience overall
Change of Pace
We enjoyed the exotic tastes and flavours of a cruise I am not so familiar with. Loved the gentle and knowledgeable owner who was so kind and attentive. Both my husband and I enjoyed the warm homemade breads, dips, hummus, warm dolmas with pomegranate sauce.. I had stewed eggplant and mushrooms on a basmati rice, my husband had huge chicken kebob's on a fragrant orange saffron rice. We had saffron pistachio and rose water ice cream, too. BYOB. Very nice and felt authentic.
This place is a hidden gem! Byob try the flavored rice with chicken, the combo dish or the lentil soup the bread is delish too!
Consistently excellent food and pleasant atmosphere. A gem in Morristown that is quiet. Have been happy there for both business lunches and dinner with family/friends.
Good food, clean, nice flavors. Respectful of the ingredients. Nice polos. Better at the entrees than appetizers.
I have read great reviews about this place for years but every time I go by it, it is empty so I suspected a lot of false reviews. We eat out a lot and are very adventurous, we look to eat with the if it looks good eat it frame of mind. Then a friend begged us to try it with them so we went.
The waitress rushed us to order, not sure why it wasn’t very busy. She asked if it was our first time and we said yes. Then never asked us if we had any questions and got annoyed that we asked if there were any specials.
The food was literally inedible. I ordered a stew over rice as did my husband. Mine was “supposed”to be a lentil, chicken, walnut, and with a Pomegranate sauce, it was the exact consistency and color of apple butter (brown and no visible meat or anything else) except apple butter would have tasted better. My husbands stew was so grossly over seasoned with herbs that it tasted like someone grabbed a handful of grass clipping from a lawn mower. My main course was supposed to be Filet Mignon kabob, the meat was a long strip (hardly Filet) that was steamed, wet and disgusting. Our friends didn’t eat their meal either. There was nothing that would EVER make us think to try this again.
Interesting food. Fresh and well prepared.
Wonderful experience.
The food and service were excellent! My wife and I have never had Persian food before, but we loved the appetizers. We had the hummus, Kashk-e-Bademjan (pureed eggplant), and the Salad-e-Olivieh (potato salad), and we also loved our entrees. I had the Lamb Kabob and my wife had the Bademjan (sautéed eggplant soup/stew), which were both very tasty. I can't wait to go back and try more things off the menu. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in trying Persian cuisine.
Wonderful! Tasty! Very nice! We enjoyed it greatly, and we will go back!
I was really disappointed with the food. The kabobs were dry and flavorless as was the rice. We were seated by the front window, too. CLose to another couple although the restaurant wasn't busy at 6.30 pm. I got the impression the food had been prepared in advance and reheated.
Great food and the owner is amazing with his advice and care for his customer. A unique experience
Had not been in a while. It was even better than I recalled. Great service and the food was exceptional.
Really enjoyed the food. The wait staff were attentive and very able to give recommendations. We even were allowed to try one dish before ordering just in case we didn't like it (which we didn't).
Definitely not a quiet night out - it was full and pretty noisy but still possible to chat.
Portions are generous but not ridiculously huge which makes a nice change.
BYO helps considerably with making it a very reasonable cost option.
We will be back.
Wonderful, authentic Persian food, with a charming interior and a first class, welcoming wait staff. There is no wine or beer, but you can bring your own and they will cork and provide glasses at no extra fee. My only regret is that this restaurant is not in my neighborhood - I live out of state - because i would go again and again!
Remember to bring your wine or beer, but this was a really good find. Really varied selection with delicious flavors and spices. Our whole group raved about the shared appetizers and individual meals (loved the rice with sour cherries). Our server was fantastic as she took her time explaining each of the intricacies and meal choices.
Highly recommend and I'll be back!
I have been here twice. The food is delicious.
I would highly recommend it.
Did not like the food at all. Kababs were ok. The stew dish was terrible. No taste at all. Service was very good though. Would not recommend at all.
Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Marjan. Our table was ready on time, we were not rushed to order, the food was yummy - all good. Try it!!
My favorite restaurant!! People are SO nice and the food is fresh and delicious!
There was no atmosphere and the food was very mediocre. I selected it based on the Open Table rating and was very disappointed.
Terrific! The food is fresh, flavorful and the menu has lots of different options. We chose the mixed appetizer platter - and you can choose the options. The flatbread served with it is warm and delicious. We also ordered grilled mixed veggies that were great! Service is excellent and we'll definitely be back!
Excellent service along with great food. Very quick service and staff is very polite and responsive.
Great food Excellent service The cuisine was authentically prepared with obvious pride
very friendly, welcoming. good selection of persian food - lamb especially was very good - good vegetarian options too. convenient for amc10, recommend for pre-theater meal.
I've been here several times and always enjoy it! Delicious food, different from the usual restaurant fare. I'm gluten-free and there are many menu options from which to choose, specifically the specialty rice dishes.
Wonderful food, as usual. My husband and I particularly like the intense chicken and pomegranate stew called Koresht-e-Fesenjoon.
It did not disappoint tonight.
Still our favorite restaurant in Morristown. Food is fresh, creative, lovingly prepared and delicious. Appetizers excellent. Best shrimp,in town. Family owned & operated.
Food good. Waiter seemed to be rushing us like we needed to adhere to an eating schedule. Then the loud vacuum came out as they were cleaning up 1 hour before closing on a Saturday night. We skipped dessert and got the heck out of there.
Freshly prepared Persian food - nice variety of small plates for sharing. Plenty of choices for main dishes - various kebobs (chicken and lamb) and the wonderfully unique Persian Ice Cream for dessert is a must. Good value - excellent food.
This is truly a hidden gem in Morristown. It has become one of our family favorites. Best grilled vegetables around and all the kebabs are delicious. Always attentive service!
