Persian Ice Cream
Homemade ice cream flavored with rose water and saffron decorated with pistachios
We had such a wonderful meal!! Our waitress was so lovely and the food was delicious. We got a few things I’ve never had before, the split pea and beef stew on crispy rice appetizer paired wonderfully with the yogurt dip (I’m sorry I can’t remember what the dishes were called!) I had the chicken kabob, which was perfectly cooked and my mom had the lamb, also perfect.
The one complaint from momma was no wine or alcohol served, but they told us we could pop next door and come back with a bottle, so if you want wine, BYO.
Excellent good and helpful, but not intrusive service. At our table the lamb and the Persian ice cream were particular favorites. Bring your own bottle!
We ate early afternoon on a Sunday. Only people eating outside so we got a seat near the window. Food (lamb chops, salmon kabob) was excellent. They also celebrated birthday with a candle atop a piece of baklava. Very cute. We enjoyed.
Delicious food and great service. Both of us enjoyed our meal and look forward to returning soon.
Excellent food and service. Really enjoyed my dinner there.
While kabobs are on the menu, smart people try all the other treats that show off the better side of Persian cuisine, like tahdig (almost crunchy rice from the bottom of a rice pot), salad-e-olivieh (Persian style potato salad), polo (rich dishes with various flavors), or fesenjoon (a rich stew made from pulverized walnuts and pomegranate molasses). The service is kind, too, and the staff usually knows the details of any dish. This place is definitely a fave.
This is a lovely place, especially if you are looking for something a little off the beaten path (gastronomically speaking). Wonderful aromas from the moment you step inside, and the staff are kind and accommodating.
We enjoyed our meal here. Lamb kabobs were very tasty.
The service was excellent. Lovely people.
Great experience from beginning to end! A real step above for a neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend!
Delicious food. My wife and I ate outside. We had Dolmeh, Kuku Sabzi, and Bademjan for appetizers and Chicken Kabob as our entrees. The wait staff was friendly and helpful.
This place is awesome. Fantastic super fresh, healthy menu with carb smart options and the best iced tea! Excellent coffee/espresso too.
The food was so real and high quality, I thought I was eating in Persia. The couple who own this restaurant are charming, caring and thoroughly professional. It was a delicious lovely experience and we definitely will be back.
Excellent fresh food and service
Nice and quaint for a first date. Definitely bring a bottle of wine. BYOB only
Have always been very happy with our meals.
Great experience , food was delicious as always . Thank you!
Persian isn't a well represented cuisine in east coast restaurants, but this place makes one wonder why there aren't more. Most of the appetizers are quite tasty, and the fesenjoon dishes are worth the trip alone. A great find, and I'm really happy they survived 2020.
We had a great meal at Marjan. Love this place. They have my favorite grape leaves! Everyone in my family (including my picky kids) found something they liked. I had the rice with lentils and raisins (Adas Polo), my husband had the filet kabobs, and both my kids had the salmon. All delicious.
Do not miss out on this fine jewel of a restaurant in Morristown NJ. Wonderful food and people!
Awesome food ... incredible service
We’ll be back soon!
Delicious. Never been here before.
Very good. Quality food and service, reasonably priced
Absolutely fantastic food and service. Have never tasted steak so soft before! Never tried Persian food before, and after this experience, I will come back again and again. Highly recommend.
Our first time trying Persian, and it was fantastic! I can tell why so many people love this place.
Food and service were excellent and Marjan comes highly recommended for a special dining experience! Consistent restaurant for many years now!
Very underrated place. Good food for a good value.
Food was delicious and the owner was exceptionally courteous! Looking forward to next time!
We ate at Marjan on new years day - the first time having eaten there. It was a leisurely and fully enjoyable lunch with attentive service and great food.
Tables were spaced at least double what was required and everyone was wearing a mask.
We had grape leaves with pomegranate sauce at the recommendation of our server. They were delicious.
I had lamb chops and they were the best I've had - really. They were tender, flavorful and lean and portions were generous. My friend had a vegetarian dish made with okra and had none left over.
We finished with what can only be defined as a refined baklava.
I would go back in a heartbeat.
Dinner was excellent as always. The food is always fresh and price right. Our favorite restaurant. Everyone should try at least once and you will come back for more. Safe, clean perfect!
This restaurant is very good, the food and service are wonderful. In fact I loved the dolmas and the baklava so much I got some to take home since I live not close by. However wonderful though, you are still sitting on the street and it's noisy. Personally I am not a fan of eating on the sidewalk with fire engines and garbage trucks going by, the occasional bee, wind and too-close passers-by. I think the restaurant is great but I hope next time I can safely be indoors when I go there. Would absolutely recommend this place and I will for sure let my friends know about it.
The food was delicious... wonderful aromas and flavors. The eggplant appetizer was served with a freshly made flatbread.. very yummy. I had the lamb shank which was very tender and in a brown sauce that was perfect on the basmati rice. The pistachio ice cream had hints of rose water and cardamom. It was creamy and not too sweet.
The staff/owners were very nice and attentive. They wore face coverings. Indoor dining room is pretty. The bathroom is clean. I will definitely be back.
The server was accommodating and attentive. We ordered our food “family style” and he was eager to give us suggestions. The food came out quickly and was delicious. BYOB.
Excellent food. So fresh and delicious. The owner is hard working and kind! Our favorite!
Reza and his family make sure that you are well taken care of in this neighborhood gem. The food is outstanding, service is friendly and efficient, and prices are reasonable. Can't wait to go back!
Great food and adorable servers, and a good value. Will return!
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend
The food is always great
Amazing kabobs and stews. The baklavas are a wonderful way to finish the meal.
My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday evening for dinner. It was pretty quiet, but I get the impression we were being served by the owner of the restaurant. He was very attentive and helpful when it came to helping up choose what to eat! The food was delicious, unique and came out very quick. Will recommend to everyone!
Quality experience, huge portions. Will visit again
