Since the last time I've been here, they raised the prices significantly. I always get the lobster club that used to be spectacular and now is just a sandwich. Although good it isn't a $30 sandwich.
Excellent food & service. GM Duane always takes care of all clients especially giving attention to the regulars.
Prices are not cheap and less volume.
Nice view for couple.
Lanai is not recommend during hot day. Really HOT by day light.
Overall, I haven’t been here in a while due to food choice, but you now have vegan options; it is not great as it used to e due to:
*popover:not great as I remember, A bit over done
*service: slow, inattentive
* food quality: my kampachi was over marinated and over cooked (Koge or burnt)
If it wasn’t for the company, I would have walked out; due to not seeing these gals for 50 years, I couldn’t cause one is visiting from the East Coast for only 1 week.
Thank you for the complimentary delicious & attractively presented birthday dessert😋😋😋
Consistently OUTSTANDING! Love ur King Crab salad, sorbet ice tea, puff pastry, consommé, ambiance, service! It was my friend’s first time & she was impressed!!! One of my favorite go-to places!!! Mahalo!
Customer service very good.
Food was delicious. We had the mushroom fries with garlic aioli (I highly recommend), the Bolognese (my favorite) and the special rib eye steak with demi-glaze and roasted vegetables ( my friend loved it)
The only thing that was a little disappointing was the popovers!!!! It is normally soft warm and fresh and also my favorite. However this time it was dry and stale. It seemed like it was leftovers from lunch. Hopefully it was a fluke. I would recommend that maybe throwing it into the oven on warm for a few minutes.
Other than that the evening was perfect and again everyone was so nice, friendly, and customer-service oriented.
Nice comfortable dinner with friends at our favorite table
Excellent food, service and view from lanai. Reminiscent of the old Longhi's. It was very pleasant to be out on the lanai with the sunset
I usually enjoy my meals here but my mahi-mahi salad was not up to par.
Otherwise an enjoyable experience.
Ordered salad and the lettuce was yellow. T
The only thing that was a little disappointing was the Purple risotto that came with the miysoyaki kampachi. I would have rather preferred something with an Asian flare. My taste buds were messed up with the miso flavor and the cheese flavor of the risotto.
The service is always world class. I travel for work, Hawaii is my home..... I look forward to coming back every chance I get. Duane, the manager is always very kind and attentive. Food is great with well informed wait staff. Go for lunch or dinner. Both are wonderful.
Receptionist(s) not very attentive.
The waiter was fantastic! Wish I remembered his name ...
We enjoyed the food service and attention to detail.
Despite making a reservation, I was tired waiting for a long time. The reception was high pressure and my appetite was gone. The hamburger was hard and did not taste. I expected too much.
I'd love to go again!!
Food ,service,view are perfect.
Wonderful ambiance, great tasting food, efficient server. Who could ask for anything more?
I was very disappointed by my chicken caesar salad. The dressing was rather sweet and the chicken was dry. On the other hand, my companions seemed happy with their choices and the consume and popovers were very good, as usual.
My girlfriend and I have been enjoying our sweet conversations over a wonderful meal at your restaurant. It's the second time we met there and haven't been rushed off by anyone to leave. The waiters kept filling our water as we caught up and laughed at each other. I'd highly recommend Mariposa for it's Food, Service, and outstanding ambiance!
Amazing!!!! Always exceptional service & ambience .
Slow service, understaffed
I was most disappointed with my reservations for afternoon tea at Mariposa. I had made my reservations in mid-September for afternoon tea, intending to treat a good friend to the experience as I have had two wonderful experiences before with your afternoon tea. The server said they never received my reservation specifying afternoon tea. As such, they could not honor that reservation as the request for tea has to be 24 hours in advance and the chef who prepares the tea offerings had already left for the day. When I checked in at 1:45 pm, I mentioned that my reservations were for the afternoon tea but the host did not say anything to me that I had no tea reservations. We did stay for late lunch and enjoyed the food and server Christopher was most apologetic and solicitous of our needs. As such, my friend has suggested for our next afternoon tea, we shall go to Tea at 1024.
Everything was excellent except the small matter about them opening 15 minutes late.
Their maître d' were not friendly at all. Stood at the front of restaurant for 5 mins no one gave us an attention. Told I didn’t make reservation clear enough to be seated inside so, had to wait for more than 15 min while they had open inside table. Everything he told us wasn’t professional at all. Food and table service was good so, it is very disappointed to experience such a bad escort.
My cousins and get together for maybe 2 or 3 times a year, an event we all look forward to. Previous lunch was at Mariposa and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and decided this is where we'd do lunch. Mariposa did not disappoint. The service was great and very thoughtful. The patience of the staff beyond belief. We will definitely be back. And oh yes, I received a call from Val on my way home informing me I had forgotten my jacket, I really appreciated the call and will be back on Monday to pick it up at Customer Service.
Lovely place to enjoy a lunch. bit pricey but the popovers and plantation tea make it worth it.
Mariposa is my favorite place for lunch in Honolulu
We lunch at mariposa quarterly and always have a wonderful experience with the food and servers. Our waiter on our 10/16 occasion was not up to par. He forgot to bring items we requested for and had to be reminded....lemons, hot water, dressing on the side. Upon reminding he seemed arrogant and non apologetic. Service was not at its best as we usually experience. However, the food was excellent as usual.
We were not asked if we would like inside or outside. We were seated outside where it was extremely hot even though there were seats available inside.
The only good thing about being outside was that we could hear our conversation -- it was extremely loud inside.
We ordered appetizers which were not delivered.
The salads were underdressed, and the plates too small to contain them.
Beautiful view, wonderful consommé and pop-overs, but don't do lunch here. Save it for afternoon coffee and dessert.
I enjoy the room, view and ambiance of Mariposa but the food is so vanilla and without anything to make u want to order it again. Even the popovers were not warm. I did notice that the room was not as busy as before signaling that others may feel the same way.
Although we had a 1130 seating and the place was not crowded, they were out of 2 entrees.
We had an excellent waitress/server. The chicken broth was absolutely outstanding.
